They have ample parking and they have a lot of awesome shops all gathered in one cool, massive, open to the outside but still covered, building. You can even find fantastic deals on really great items such vintage and antique pieces here. I once found an antique, 1800's Victorian period, rose gold and opal ring. It was in a ring display holder amongst all kinds of different rings ranging in different sizes, styles, and ages, that were for sale. They sell all kinds of things here, such as clothing, plants, pets (including purebred puppies) and pet supplies. They sell dishes and all different kinds of other things that you would find in a garage sale or yard sale. They sell knives and other different custom one of a kind items, which is great for finding that perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. Plus, don't forget that prices at flea markets are often times negotiable. I would definitely make it a point to stop here and shop for Christmas and the holiday season, as the weather will be beautiful outside that time of year and there will likely be holiday themed shops and a lot of the best shops of the year to browse during that time of year. They also have a food area where you can stop, and take a break from walking around, to get some tasty food and refreshing drinks to keep you cool and hydrated. This area is definitely a little on the smaller side, given the enormous size of the flea market, but they do have a fair amount of seating. An issue to consider when deciding if you should come to this flea market is that it's so very hot in Florida (especially in the Summer months), that it's almost too dangerous to walk around outside at flea markets, because you risk suffering a heat stroke. They sell many ways of staying cooler online. We live in a state where people come year round to visit the theme parks, so people are always finding new ways of staying cool in the Summer. My mother just bought a hat that is solar powered, and it has multiple adjustable fans that blow air on to her directly, that she uses when she is out and about in the Florida heat. She primarily uses it to keep her cool while she is gardening. Something that might help a lot is if vendors at this flea market carried business cards, with a good number to call, in the event that they wanted to tell us if they had something available that a specific customer might have an interest in, ahead of time. Like if a vendor sold rings, and then gave me his card, he could call me if he had any vintage and antique rings in stock, and I could call him whenever I wanted to check and see if there was anything I might be interested in in stock that day as well. I definitely recommend checking out this flea market. It's a fun way to spend the day and you definitely won't regret it.

This is a fun food truck pod! We attended for the first time last night, the evening started out…read morerainy, but as us Floridians know...rain usually moves through the area quickly and it did last night. As the event is located on the back of Oviedo Marketplace, by Chamberlains and the Regal theaters, there was plenty of parking near the trucks. Bring your own tables, chairs, tailgating canopies or umbrellas to shade from the sun- as there is no shade. People had their areas set up near their cars, much like tailgating at a football game. The event was well attended, very crowded after the rain stopped. Saw singles, families, large groups and people of all ages. While most trucks still are cash only, I'm seeing more of the iPad credit card readers with the trucks. Still always best to show up with cash. Gastro Truck, Big Wheel, Yum Yum, Melissa's chicken and waffles, The Batter Bowl, Treehouse truck, Crooked spoon, Korean Taco Truck, Crepe lady, C&S Brisket, Firehouse BBQ, Gator BBQ, Traveling Gourmet, Mama's soul food, CK Jerk Shack Gourmet Island BBQ,Tastebuds-Catering and more were there. Notable missing: Winter Park Fish Co., Monsta Lobsta There were about 15-20 food trucks in attendance, all of the most popular trucks were out in force and a few that were new to me were out. Mama's soul food truck would be one of those trucks. Great menu, we swung by for the dessert of 3 tier red velvet cake, but there was everything from Fried chicken, ribs, fried catfish, you name it. (Menu pic posted). The service was super friendly and the food portions coming out were HUGE and a great deal for the prices charged. My red velvet cake was a nice slice, cake was moist and cooked well. The Cream cheese frosting was a sweeter cream cheese, a bit sweet for my taste, but the white chocolate chips studded on the frosting was a yummy touch. The Batter Bowl- We tried the goat cheese Triple Chocolate Ghirardelli brownie. The brownie was nice and moist, more cake-like and much less chocolatey than I was expecting. The goat cheese based mixture was swirled on top like a cheesecake layer and tasted like cream cheese- it was missing a goaty tang but was tasty. For those that aren't fans of goat cheese, don't be afraid to try this. Good price for $2.50. Big Wheel was offering fried artichokes, which were good and not at all greasy. However, they would be much tastier if the whole artichoke hearts were sliced in half so the inside benefited from the Parmesan cheese, truffle oil and chili flakes they were tossed in. When you bit into the whole fried artichoke heart, the primary taste was steamed canned artichoke hearts. Hubby enjoyed the chicken skewer, which was hoisin flavored last night. Very tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. C&S brisket truck- Hubby went for the Brisket sandwich and said the Brisket was very tender but lacked flavor, this was the general consensus from the group that tried the large sandwich. Nice deal, $8 for a whole sandwich served on Texas toast or $6 for a half. The Rachel and Reubens coming out where huge and getting raves from those around. Hubby was bummed he didn't go that direction and will check them out next time. I didn't get the name of the Latin food truck we stopped at, friends ordered fried plantains (tostones) topped with Ropa Vieja (Braised shredded beef) and raved about the flavors.....so much so that they went back for a second order. They also ordered the shrimp quesadilla that they said was good and some Venezuelan cheese sticks, which I tried. The cheese sticks started with a mild, white cheese similar to provolone and had whole wheat dough wrapped around the cheese. It was fried and served with a creamy cilantro sauce on the side. The cheese sticks were not at all greasy, quite yummy and I would order again. Longest lines: Yum Yum cupcake truck, Melissa's chicken and waffles, Crooked Spoon, Treehouse truck and Crepe Lady. Longest wait would probably go to Melissa's Chicken and waffles- my friends stood in the Melissa's chicken and waffle truck for 45+ minutes and the end of the line was still 3 trucks down when we left. They were cranking, but should look into getting another double sided waffle maker going for large events. Yum Yum opened a second window and started cranking people through quickly, so fear not if you see a long line. :) Our group had hoped Monsta Lobsta would be there, when I posted a question on their FB page, they were out of town for the weekend. Hopefully, they will be at the next Oviedo Bazaar. This was a fun event that we'll be back for!

There were two trucks that always has a line anywhere else but had the shortest non existent line here, Pupusas and Arepas El Cacao. Sad. Too ethnic for the delicate palates of the fine people from Oviedo? There were no directional signs neither restrooms for the event. But the music was blasting away. The music at Lake Lilly tends to be a little too loud and it is hard to communicate with the food truck vendors. However, the noise level here was okay. Maybe it was the wide open parking lot. There was ample room between trucks and trash cans were easily identifiable. Nice event, nice crowd, good location.

We've heard great things about this place, so we had to try it. Everyone had to try it, I guess, because the line to get up to the ordering window was gigantic. This was obviously one of the more popular options there last night. We order from the KBBQ Taco Box (8" Flour Tortilla with Grilled Onions, Spicy Mayo and Lettuce) list, the Galbi Taco (Boneless Beef Short Rib). It was served with their house ginger salad, 1 spicy chicken wing, 2 pcs of a fried cheese roll (topped with spicy mayo), and 1 Korean side (varies). Let's break this down. The taco was delicious. It was a little awkward. It was just a big ol' tortilla. But I like tacos, so it didn't bother me. It just looked strange. The beef itself was so tender and flavorful. It was slathered with it's own sauce that was sweet and gingery. I loved it. I wanted to get another one. The salad was meh. Ginger dressing on some lettuce. The spicy chicken wing was amazing. It was pretty spicy, so we wary, but it was perfectly crispy with moist wing meat inside. They offer a whole box of these things that I'm going back for soon. The fried cheese thing was interesting. It wasn't particularly cheesy, but it was a nice, rich, deep fried thing that had that good spicy mayo on it. The Korean side, I didn't know what it was. It looked like a fried green tomato, but it tasted like a fried slice of mashed potatoes. I don't know, but I liked it. It was very starchy. Overall, I can see why this place keeps on ending up on Best Of lists. They convert a simple trailer to a themed truck with siding to hide the wheels, tables for condiments, bayou decor and music. They were the only food truck to think ahead and provide a canopy for their patrons on this rainy evening. For $7 I got a shrimp po'boy which came piled high with nicely seasoned shrimp and a soft hoagie roll. The po'boy was super messy with a delicious sauce (not too spicy), lettuce and tomato. Everything tasted very fresh. I was pleasantly surprised when a side of red beans and rice came with. The red beans and rice were excellent as well. It was a hearty side but not too heavy for a June night. There were big chunks of sausage in the sauce too- a meal unto itself. I always feel like I overpay for a food truck meal but at Blue Bayou the pricing is right. The employees were very friendly, staffed well so the wait wasn't bad and they were one of the first trucks open. I will definitely eat at this truck when I see them again.

The JAO was…read morefounded in 2011 and ever since then they have worked to create a greater understanding of Japanese culture in Florida to cultivate a deeper understanding of and interest in Japan and to promote friendship between Japan and Florida. The signature event of the JAO is the annual Orlando Japan Festival held every November. This year was the 24th year of the festival. The Orlando Japan Festival is held in the spacious Lakefront Park in Kissimmee. I was pleased to see that there was plenty of free parking only a few blocks away. Nothing ruins my festival mood faster than circling an hour for overpriced parking. Another nice feature of this festival is that admission is free. The festival is large and spread throughout this beautiful park. Near the water we were able to catch some relief from the heat with a cooling breeze. There are over 50 vendors selling Japanese goods, food, and drinks, and entertainment that includes Taiko drumming, Koto (the Japanese harp), traditional dancing, exhibitions of martial arts such as Judo, Karate and Kobudo. This Japanese culture festival ranges from the traditional to modern pop culture. My favorite part of the event was people watching because many attendees arrived in elaborate costumes. We started off with boba drinks and shopping but it was very hot and the food was expensive and the lines were long. After enjoying a walk around the festival we headed out to somewhere where we could sit and enjoy air conditioning while we ate. My recommendation is to arrive early for least limes and so you can enjoy all of the entertainment.

My favorite booth is the japanese anime / souvenier booth that offers kimono's , anime items, hello kitty, japanese ceramic tableware just to name a few! I recall the few times I have attended I have bought TONS of hello kitty items for less than $10! Last year I bought all of the kimono's they had for $10 each! I use the kimono's as beach or pool coverups. I also scored a big Hello Kitty Toki Doki backpack for $10! My favorite food booths are the gyudon beef bowl booth and the onigiri. I think its reasonably priced and you get full from eating it throughout the day you spend at the festival. You will also noticed some guests dressed in anime costumes and some in their kimono's. I attended wearing a kimono one time but the weather was too warm to wear all day. They finally sold souvenier t shirts for $25 last year and I ended up buying one since the past years they haven't sold any from what I recall. The japanese festival is a great way to experience japanese culture and to try out the awesome food the food booths offer. They also showcase cultural music on stage and also kimono try on's. Just a tip - If you want nearby parking try to come in 1 hr early before the festival starts. Try to attend it this year if you can!

LaPreferida is a Mexican market with a food truck outside…read more The ordering process is that you go into the Mexican market and order, they give you a receipt and your number is called at the truck. Pricing is okay, three dollars a taco. If you order less than five they automatically add fifty cents for sauce. I went with three tacos so my total after tax and the salsa surcharge was just over ten dollars. I also thought it was a bit strange that they use paper plates and wrap them in plastic wrap instead of your more traditional takeout container. The tacos themselves were good. Overall, a decent for tacos.
