You enter the Nautilus Market, you're desperate for food, and that's the nearest thing there is. As you walk in, your stomach continues to grumble, you're now desperate for any type of food, but there's just one problem; the front desk lady is talking and gossiping with her co-workers. She glares at you, then continues talking. You're now hangry because the worker is not doing her job, which is to simply SWIPE YOUR CARD. SIMPLE!! Anyway, after a few minutes, you finally walk in. You set your things down and rush to the display cooking. You notice they're doing omelettes, but once you order, you notice that the egg is not fully cooked and it's literally GOOEY. You go to the buffet area in the back, hoping for something yummy, but as you walk through the different foods, they all look crusty, cold, and clumpy. The hamburgers are cold, the pizza is greasy, the pasta is chunked up. You then decide to make a waffle, but the waffle mix is disgusting and pours out water as well. You're now enraged and go back to your seat to eat your liquidy omelette. You go over to the drink station, but the plastic cups are literally BROWN from how dirty and old they are, then you go to grab some silverware but you notice it's not cleaned properly and has some food crust. You decide to eat your omelette, then CONGRATS! You've gotten salmonella!!!! This actually happened to me. I've gotten sick multiple times from eating here. The employees are rude, they don't do their jobs, and they talk crap about you right in front of you. Eva, the front desk lady, is always out doing random things and not her job. All the other employees are rude. The only respectable employees are Lynne (she makes bomb omelettes and they're not liquidy), Andrea (she works on the weekends), and the nice man that works at the hamburger station. I feel bad for all the people who have to eat here, it's really not worth it lol.

If I could give a 0/5 rating I would. The staff is always rude except for 1-2 people. Two staff…read moremembers, Buddy and Eva, are always tremendously rude and give an attitude. I worked a 12 hour shift at work and came back to campus to eat before going to my dorm, it was only 7:45 and he said "coming last minute huh?" And I replied with "well I just worked all day and it says you are open until 9" he then scoffed me and said hes been there since 12, well idc I too worked all day yoI don't need to take it out on me. as for Eva, she's always just snarky and has an attitude over anything, I always get lunch before work and she always just says "breakfast is over, lunch doesn't start yet." Okay? Don't be rude it's your job to greet us when we come in. Don't even get me started on the food, half of the time the staff do not have gloves on, they don't wear their masks properly so what's the point in wearing one? I understand not wearing one but why wear one of you won't even cover your nose. I'm so glad that I don't have a meal plan next year because they will not be taking my money and I personally believe meal plans should not be required for students.

I had my mind made up about University of West Florida, or UWF, before writing this review though I…read moredid read the other reviews. I would say UWF earns about a 3.6, but that rounds up to 4 stars. Universities and colleges are interesting. They are a compendium of interesting buildings, campus planning, both broad and niche educational programs, a bureaucracy, a culture, a political system, a (more or less) collective personality, strengths and weaknesses, noncomformity, groupthink, and so many other things. I knew that UWF sat in a nice area among stands of pine on the northern outskirts of Pensacola. So, instead of using the public library in town, I came to visit the one at UWF. Then, I made a second trip because I found a heck of a lunch deal at the Nautilus Market and Grill! So, then, reviews will be forthcoming under separate cover for both their library and the Nautilus Market and Grill! Florida has its flagship university, the University of Florida, and the "other" school that hates it, Florida State University at Tallahassee. Then, there is an implicit "next tier" string of campuses the likes of the University of Central Florida, the University of North Florida, the University of South Florida, and this one, the University of West Florida. The big and well-known University of Florida may still have its share of partying, but getting in there these days requires more than a pulse ... far more. But, in reality, the sometimes smaller campuses of UCF, UNF, USF, and UWF serve their purpose quite well for those who are focused. They are more regional or local universities populated by a more local student population, students who want to go to those specific schools for a specific reason, and a smattering of international students who are interested in those institutions. Granted, GPAs and test scores to get into UWF aren't as high as they are at UF. However, that moniker UWF, or "U Will Fail," is sort of ridiculous. That probably refers to students who haphazardly toss their applications into the ring, get in, don't apply themselves, and generally don't give a shit. We all know that a dysfunctional dipshit can get into and through an Ivy League university and a perfectly competent and practical student who hails from the area may choose to go to a UWF because he or she wants to stick around their stomping grounds and get a decent education for a respectable price. Here's what I was able to deduce more specifically about UWF. It has about 8,000 undergraduate students. I think the ideal university has about 10,000 to 15,000 enrolled students. But, at about 2,000 per class, that beats having about 1,000 per class and everybody knowing that, for example, you once picked your nose and left a booger under the desk. Bigger and/or popular departments are business, as can be expected, nursing, teacher education, some of the engineering disciplines, and marine biology, which makes perfect sense. The arts and the sciences are also represented. The campus is definitely attractive and is spread out so, with more accelerated metabolisms, traditional college age enrollees can eat their hearts out at the cafeteria and lose those calories as they walk between the buildings in which their classes are held. Pace Library seems substantial enough and has a good feel. What appears to be the student union type building is in an 80s modern low-rise edifice and has a nice lounge, a bookstore, and the huge Nautilus Market and Grill. The atmosphere appears to be relaxed and all sorts of students seem to go to school here, and it is evidently devoid of a "one size fits all" personality. Right along with that, everyone met at the information center, the student union, the library, the Nautilus Market and Grill, and in a few departments where I asked questions was informal and friendly. I've said it elsewhere. The high pressure schools can and do bring out the best in most students. The schools with less competitive admissions profiles almost always require that the student has more self-discipline to work against that critical mass. For that reason, I'm deducting one star. I'm then deducting .4 star for a few departments in which some of the subset disciplines aren't as fleshed out, but that's just my opinion. In short, I liked what I saw of this school. It's a good place for a kid to cut his or her teeth. They can stay around their hometown or move to this wonderful area, they can avail themselves of good enough and practical curricula, and, if they do well here, they can indeed see an admissions packet from UF or some other flagship or private school for continuing their educations. As for me, my only tie to this school is that Argonaut t-shirt I bought. Hey, one can always use t-shirts.

If I had known it would be this difficult to get in contact with someone or receive responses…read moreregarding inquiries and submitted documents, I would have applied to Pensacola State College instead. I have attended two other universities, both online and in person, and this has honestly been the worst experience I've had, and it's only week one of classes. It took an entire month for my documents, which were already in the system, to be reviewed so I could be admitted even though I called every week to check up on it and they had everything. I was then finally admitted the same day class registration opened, while the systems were down. Since then, I have been unable to reach my academic advisor despite emailing and calling for the past two weeks regarding a course transfer issue. A class that should have been transferred from my transcript was not applied, which is now preventing me from registering for my next course due to a 'prerequisite not met' error. Phones and emails are rarely answered, and the lack of communication has made this process extremely frustrating. If I had more time and had not already submitted everything to the VA, I would seriously consider applying to PSC instead. It's crazy because I applied to an administrative position here in the Undergrad department when I first moved to the area and they didn't take me. They clearly need more people or better people for that matter because whoever they chose can't handle the workload.
