There's also a bookstore, but it was closed when we went. There's a good variety for different ages. There's dvds (I know.. who uses those anymore) and audios too. It's something to do on the weekends with kids. Oh! And they also have an animanga meet once a month for teens (11-18).

This is our local library, just blocks away from our home and we are thrilled to have it!…read more It's a nicely appointedted and well run library with a very professional, friendly and helpful staff that know their stuff. I had a good feeling about this place when I first saw the big statue of a frog reading a book outside with benches for reading outdoors. Inside it is well organized with whole sections for kids and individual rooms for audio, including lots of CD's and audiobooks and other library functions open to the public. The library offers access to their full catalog as well as to assistance with technology research and a host of special programs, including story time for children. Additional resources are available online through ebooks and streaming videos with your library card.  Over 34, 000 movies and documentaries as well as the Great Course is available there.  They are even offering Zoom talks!   With COVID protocols the library is now open Mon - Fri 10am - 6pm with social distancing with a building capacity is of 50. There are 4 computers available in the computer lab, test proctoring is available by appointment. Book drop is open and available at the back of the building. and you can call ahead at (251-968-1176) if you prefer take-out service. Meeting room, notary service, and on-site programming not available at this time. A cool service is their free Wi-Fi which is available 24/7 eve after hours, you can access this service from their parking lot! They will scan documents to your email free of charge and printing services are available from the computer lab and photo copying is available at 15¢ per page. Bottom line: We love to get our books at the library and sometimes just hang out and this is a great place for both. Check it out!!

I have a library card to MY public library, but it was 15 hours north. No worries. I asked for help and they delivered. They assigned me a temporary computer password, I logged in, set up the print job and they printed it for me. I paid for my prints and I was on my way. They were SO NICE! Sadly, I would probably not get this kind of customer service at my home library. They need to take some lessons on customer service from TBNPB.

They're open 5hr a day (middle of the work day none the less), they take hour lunch breaks and get super annoyed when you ask them to do anything, like go get your mail that's 10' behind them. Idk how these people still have a job with their attitudes. However when I retire if they're hiring I'd love to take a 5hr a day govt job and double dip from my retirement..

Sand shakes, people cheer, and you realize real quick this isn't some quiet museum piece this is living American aviation. For me, it meant even more. I want to give a proud salute to my daughter, Kindle , who served in the United States Navy. I watched her graduate boot camp and later graduate air traffic control school right here in Pensacola. She even volunteered helping with the Blue Angels show. Standing on that beach watching those jets carve up the sky while thinking about her service... that's the kind of moment that sticks with you. Loud. Proud. Real. A couple facts worth knowing while the jets are tearing holes in the sky: the Blue Angels were formed in 1946, making them one of the oldest flight demonstration teams in the world. Their home base is Naval Air Station Pensacola, and every year millions of people watch them perform across the country. These pilots fly just 18 inches apart in some formations at speeds pushing 700 mph. That's not choreography that's trust, skill, and nerves of steel. So here's my thanks: to the men and women of the United States Navy, thank you for your service. To Pensacola for being the home of naval aviation, thank you for the hospitality. Attending this felt so much like attending an organized air show; the biggest difference being that it was free! From the show to the announcer to the concessions, it was all top notch! The worst part was getting to the base. Traffic was horrendous. It was just like going to a promoted event. Once on base though it was so pleasant. If you have the opportunity to check it out I highly recommend it!

It is a deck plate girder bridge that was built in 1972. The main span is 180.1 feet long and the total bridge is 1762.2 feet long. It has a vertical clearance of 73 feet, which is tall enough for most sailboats and other traffic. A very busy bridge, it carries more than 10 million vehicles a year. That's a lot - a tenth as many as the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson in New York City! It is named for Doctor William C. Holmes, who opened Baldwin County's first hospital and ran it for 22 years before South Baldwin Regional Medical Center opened its doors. (Don't miss the W. C. Holmes Medical Museum.) Three lanes northbound and two lanes southbound, the southbound side has a breakdown/bicycle lane. There is no stopping on the bridge and I don't know about pedestrians, so I wouldn't recommend popping out for a photo of the Intracoastal. There is no toll to cross the bridge.
