The library staff didn't like the reviews they were getting, so they did something to get Google reviews for the location shut down. UWF did the same by removing the review I left with my university email after it became inactive. That's about the going practices for academic freedom, yeah. That's American college, fond devotee of intellectual freedom and freedom of speech! Anyway, the staff are fine except for a male librarian* who is the definition of a rat nest-haired, dead-eyed male creep who watches women on the cameras and would if female follow them into the women's restroom, no doubt about it. Absolutely unhinged, obsessive behavior like waiting at the door for someone to arrive and then when they approach fleeing to pretend they hadn't been. Then there's the cleaner who barely cleans: an ugly, pig-faced, pitbull-bodied, morbidly obese black woman with a nasty attitude, who looks for every opportunity possible to harass and hiss insults at women, especially if you're white. Not men, of course, she would never. But she will accost and harass you if you're female. It makes her feel better about her life. She gets up in the morning just for that joy! A good way to get her to stop is to record her whenever she's around. When you're recording her, she knows to keep her mouth shut, but only then. She doesn't deserve a job, but you know how DEI goes. As for the library itself, the selection is a joke. No good literature. Additionally, all Russian hosts, including Russian email providers, are banned and totally inaccessible. If you're a Russian student or Russian-American who want to keep in contact with their loved ones in Russia, you're out of luck! Time to pretend Google is a moral company that respects user privacy and the US doesn't directly facilitate the Israeli genocide of Palestine like that mean, no good, awful Russia! (Oh, wait.) Oh, and all the vending machines are some degree of broken. * Sorry, BOTH male librarians. One is worse than the other by leaps and bounds, but if you are an adult male working in public library in 2024, there is something deeply, deeply irreparably wrong with you.
