I was out of the library and on my way away from the building as I was stopped by the police and informed I was trespassed from the library for stalking. Did I stalk anyone? No. Did the manager hate me? Yes. How do I know? She was trying to inconvenience me by excluding certain staff members from my interactions prior to banning me. She figured who I liked and who liked me and decided to put brakes on it because she could. When she saw it didn't bother me she did the above. Mia the desk librarian helped her a great deal at achieving this because she was jealous I favored someone other than her, some actual pleasant staff. Mia would always complain about me to the manager about who knows what which would always result in some type of action against me. Ultimately Gabrielle was the one who sent cops after me. With the manager's blessing of course. Cozy library other than that.

I called and requested that a book be sent over from another Okaloosa library. The staff member said that she would place the request, but never did. I needed the book for a class and ended up having to order it to get in it time. They closed the childrens' section down during the summer to remodel (a poor management decision). I made a special trip to the library with my children and was turned away. They do not offer many summer programs for children at this location. Space is being wasted here. Bring in new talent or reallocated the money going to the FWB location to the Mary Esther, Destin, and Niceville library.

If it isn't in this library the staff finds it at another library and has if for you, if available, in a few days. The wonderful new children's area of the library is just lovely for parents and children. The construction was efficient and well managed and took very little time. I can't wait to take my grandchildren to see the improvements this November! Hope 'Elmo' is available then too!! The Children Section librarian staff goes to great lengths to encourage children to read. The head of this section, Nancy, even dresses up as Elmo for special reading days and the children and parents love it! We love this library!

This is our local library, just blocks away from our home and we are thrilled to have it!…read more It's a nicely appointedted and well run library with a very professional, friendly and helpful staff that know their stuff. I had a good feeling about this place when I first saw the big statue of a frog reading a book outside with benches for reading outdoors. Inside it is well organized with whole sections for kids and individual rooms for audio, including lots of CD's and audiobooks and other library functions open to the public. The library offers access to their full catalog as well as to assistance with technology research and a host of special programs, including story time for children. Additional resources are available online through ebooks and streaming videos with your library card.  Over 34, 000 movies and documentaries as well as the Great Course is available there.  They are even offering Zoom talks!   With COVID protocols the library is now open Mon - Fri 10am - 6pm with social distancing with a building capacity is of 50. There are 4 computers available in the computer lab, test proctoring is available by appointment. Book drop is open and available at the back of the building. and you can call ahead at (251-968-1176) if you prefer take-out service. Meeting room, notary service, and on-site programming not available at this time. A cool service is their free Wi-Fi which is available 24/7 eve after hours, you can access this service from their parking lot! They will scan documents to your email free of charge and printing services are available from the computer lab and photo copying is available at 15¢ per page. Bottom line: We love to get our books at the library and sometimes just hang out and this is a great place for both. Check it out!!

Ok, so no one gets too excited about going to the library, but the employees here are SO nice…read more As a visitor to the GS area, I needed to print some documents. I have a library card to MY public library, but it was 15 hours north. No worries. I asked for help and they delivered. They assigned me a temporary computer password, I logged in, set up the print job and they printed it for me. I paid for my prints and I was on my way. They were SO NICE! Sadly, I would probably not get this kind of customer service at my home library. They need to take some lessons on customer service from TBNPB.
