So - you get all three things with this contractor - Price - Quality - Service! When we decided to add a wrap around deck with composition decking to our existing deck and we were dealing with a ravine - we knew the price wasn't going to be in our favor, but it had to be done. My wife and I are doing everything we can now in order to remain in our home and have the ability to maintain it when life throws us severe aging issues. Mike came over, looked everything over and gave us a price - to be honest we were a bit shocked at the price. It really did seem high. Therefore we contacted another contractor who gave us an indication who we'd be doing business with. The third contractor never called us back - so we crossed our fingers and went with Mike - though he was highly recommended by others - the price seemed very different from the other and we just were not sure. When Mike got here and started the job - my concerns were all put to rest as I watched him meticulously begin working. He knew what he was doing and ensured that my new decking would probably outperform my old decking. He even was able to find the exact match to my old decking - along with railing too! Though the job isn't done yet - I am ready to give out 5 stars. I realize that I shouldn't be so quick to give out this rating and will update and change if need be, but summer is here and someone might need a job done by a pro, at a reasonable price with great quality and workmanship - Mike's the guy to call! 7-4-13 - 4th of July update: The job was done ahead of schedule and Mike and CJ actual finished the job on the fourth of July and to perfection I might add. Just prior to the recent COVID-19 shutdown, Stone Plumbing had come out to do a couple of small…read moreplumbing jobs I needed done. Scott was quick, professional, explained what he was doing and why, and left the job site completely clean, and charged a reasonable fee. Needless to say, I was very happy with his work, which was visibly better than previous plumbing that had been done at my house. At the time, I discussed some possible future projects with Scott, including the most pressing one: the so-called 'high efficiency' boiler for my house was failing, and late winter in Jamestown is no time to be without heat. Three other local plumbing/heating companies had worked on it to no avail, and two said they'd give me a quote on a replacement boiler, but never got back to me. Scott said he would work up a quote for me so we could address it quickly when I was ready to move forward. Shortly after that, the state shutdown was announced, and my boiler quit for good. While the other companies never responded to me, Scott called me back right away, got the new boiler ordered, and we were on our way. Within a few short days my old boiler was removed, replaced with a regular efficiency boiler that is working like a charm. Along the way Scott was able to work in a socially-distanced manner, easily fielded some unusual issues (we had to rent a 60-foot cherry-picker to get to the top of the very tall chimney stack to remove the old furnace lining and replace the chimney cover), and helped make a stressful situation easier to fix than I expected. All in all, I highly recommend Stone Plumbing for responsiveness, flexibility, excellent communication, and reasonable pricing. It was one of the most positive and professional experiences I've had with any home contractor in the last 20 years. They were my fourth call this time--but they got the job done that three previous plumbers didn't. They'll be my first call the next time I need any plumbing done.

Updated: Let me start by saying the staff from customer…read moreservice ladies to the 5 different plumber gents in and out of my home were very nice, respectful of my home, and courteous about knocking and asking permission to use things and go places in my home. My hot water tank was leaking and creating toxic levels of carbon emissions then blew up. Within minutes national fuel turned my gas off and within an hour TJs was at my house to give an estimate and set an appointment. They cost more than my other estimate, but were able to put my hot water tank in 2 days earlier than the others. They showed up for my install later than they said they would which happens sometimes. It took 4 hours to put it in, but my water pressure issue wasn't resolved so they had to come back the next day. They said when I signed my contract and paid my deposit the day before the tank and all of the service was included in the price which confused and upset me when I had a service fee after. I voiced my concern about the extra charge and Dewey contacted me. He explained the situation to me and resolved it so I'm very happy and will use them again, especially because all of the employees were great. My hot water tank and water pressure are awesome. I was quoted $250 (holiday rate) an hour, which included their employees coming to my house, with the necessary tools, and working 1 hour. Their labor time was barely an hour. And initially they wanted to charge me $637. I protested this and they took their time to fix it, which took them about 20 minutes. And now they wanted to charge me $540 based on 2 hours work. OUTRAGEOUS!! I called the company 3 times, and at each time, their story changed. First, they told me $637 was a "mistake". Then, they claimed that it included travel money, to which I protested saying that I was quoted $250, which clearly included the travel money. Once they claimed that their employees were at my place for 1 hour and 15 minutes, next time they claimed it was 1 hour and 20 minutes, the third time, they claimed it was 1 hour and 40 minutes. They couldn't put the numbers, nor the story, together to justify their bill, which is unjustifiable anyways. They also had the audacity to tell me that I should be grateful for their service rather than creating a problem. They will ABUSE your vulnerable moment, charge you an EXORBITANT amount, and BULLY you afterwards. AVOID this company!!!

I returned a few months later and gave Marina my drawings to get a baseline quote; I truly appreciated that she didn't feel that she had to question my choices because she was the "expert". I was happy with the estimate and, indeed, we came very close to that in the end. She did indeed use her expertise and relationships with the manufacturer in getting the precise cabinets and functional inserts that I wanted with regular meetings over several weeks . She kept me apprised of the production timing, arrival and delivery date. She also assisted in recommending contractors, cabinet hardware and stone & tile sources (they have nice starter selections at the shop but have access to many others). I am thrilled with my kitchen and when a flooding disaster destroyed many of the cabinets a year later she was able to pull up the past design and re-order the cabinets quickly (luckily insurance covered that cost!).
