I've…read morelived in NYC and Los Angeles where competition is very fierce (we're talking the top salons booked out *months* in advance) so I wasn't expecting anyone local to come close to the big-city quality I'm used to. The first couple of wax salons in Lafayette I went to were fine, but nothing special... But then I found Sphynx Waxing Studio, and ladies, I'm telling you: Kelly is hands-down the BEST waxologist I've EVER HAD!! Kelly is attentive, caring, and knowledgeable: she gives the best tips on how to manage in between waxes to prevent ingrown hairs. She clearly cares about her customers, too -- even when I couldn't make it in for a few months, she remembered me & the family drama I told her about during our very first appointment. She makes the process as painless as possible, too. There's still some discomfort involved (she's ripping out hairs, after all) but she knows how to get it done quickly and gently. The best part, though, is Kelly's fun vibe. She's by far the friendliest and warmest wax professional I've ever met -- every time I go to her for a wax, I end up cracking up because she is HILARIOUS. Her infectious energy makes me actually a bit bummed that I don't need to get a Brazilian more often! How is that even possible?!!?!? If it were possible to give Kelly ten stars out of five, I 100% would.

A friend of mine…read moretold me abt this place, speak very highly, suggested me to make appointment(which I did, and I recommend everyone to do so). It was for full leg+armpit waxing, and a simple facial, done by two girls. The first girl, I'm so sry that I don't remember her name, was so nice to me, she did a great job, nice, fun conversation. She made me feel so comfortable like she's an old friend of mine. She answered all my intro level waxing questions with so much patience, and told me not to wry abt anything. Unlike my previous at home painful waxing experience , the waxing she did for me was quick and did not hurt at all!!!! Don't get me wrong, it was a nice quick job with professionalism and attention. The facial was also great. But it was so soothing and calming, I almost fell asleep, so I didn't talk to my facial tech that much. But it was absolutely a great job, my face looked so clean and it was literally glowing afterwards. It was not a big salon, but it was very clean, and the decor was even cute. They play very soothing music in the waxing and facial room, or it also can be your choice of music. Every girl there is awesome! As long as you get thereC you'll be in good hands. I will definitely miss this place when I move. I highly recommend everyone to get their waxing done there, especially those first timers.

Nails were completely uneven, she only filed by hand which confused me, no other tech i've been to has not used a drill bit. Was not even close to a french tip, more like a dipped tip??? She almost left just acrylic on bottom until i specifically asked for a nude base. All in all nice setting but whatever tech I got did not know what she was doing. One picture shows the next set i got for $15 cheaper at a different salon in lafayette. Both are supposed to be french tips. Was not worth the $75 I paid.

Imagine my surprise when the tan was applied per human with an air brush. This young gal (sorry I forgot her name) was professional, fussy and educational. She actually gave me tips on how to make the tan last. I left Logansport and never looked back thirty some years ago but the service I received was comparable to Nashville, Chicago or Indianapolis. Due to a neurological disease I was wobbly and almost falling over during my treatment but I was given nothing but patience and professionalism to make sure I walked out glowing. I felt like a million with my beautiful tan. As a side note another reviewer complained because a child was not greeted and basically watched by staff. If I'm spending a day at a salon I do not want to hear children whine and demand attention. Cheers, to them for the unspoken no child policy.
