If I could give this place 10 stars I absolutely would! I've been wanting to go and today we had girls day at creamery! We pull in and there's a big field trip of young kids that we're about to leave. We took our tour at 2 which gave us plenty of time to grab lunch on way in. It took us right at an hour from Jacksonville/richlands. Not hard to find.. just on other side of kinston. It is in rural area but so nice and peaceful. We all learned so much about how it's made, what all goes into it, why they choose these kinds of cows.. I will say this all cows with one exception are female and they are all dairy cows not meat generating cows so they live good happy lives.. the fields are very well kept and cows do look very skinny but we learned that's the breed they are.. I have to say the staff was very happy and it showed in tour and in store.. we actually stopped on tour to see the baby cows and they gave us so much love and they got tons right back.. it's amazing how sweet and gentle they are.. we saw where they milk them and where they go to get out of bad weather or bad temperature. Then after tour it was time for ice cream! I got a blueberry cheesecake shake! So good I could not finish it!! The ice cream is really the best I've had! It's a great place for adults, children , families heck I recommend it to everyone.. the tour is not a walking tour so if you have issues walking no problem at all they take you on a tram and there is steps that are easy and I believe I even saw a wheelchair accessible lift on it too.. do not hesitate .. run! 8-26-23 Simply Natural was determined by a USA Today article to be among the top 10 ice cream joints in the USA (2023). Perhaps it's because of the Jersey cows used to make their own dairy products. Perhaps it's the cow farm that separates itself from other places. Perhaps it's the ability to tour the farm. Maybe it's the great ice cream with an excellent assortment of flavors. Maybe aside, the word is out that this farm/creamery in the middle of nowhere, Greene County has something special. The number of patrons looking for something sweet says it all. The grounds have a playground for kids (neat options like a bouncy area), buildings for parties or events, the creamery itself selling tasty stuff, and the cows and farm that can be toured. A baby shower was being held at one of the buildings on the date above. We came for the ice cream. We sampled the warm cookie sundae, cake batter ice cream, and Cowie-O ice cream. All excellent. There are cone options, bowl/size options, toppings, and an exhaustive flavor display. They make their own stuff. Yes, it comes from Jersey cows on the farm. Yes, it is excellent ice cream. We found prices fair relative to other ice cream joints. We did the farm tour, which is a covered wagon thing pulled by a tractor. This runs you $6 per person. This takes you through the farm detailing what each building is and does, food, history, and the cows themselves. You get to pet the calves, and they all seem receptive to human touch and attention. Neat tour and not something I would have thought would be interesting. Cool. As per the aforementioned USA Today article, well, I don't know much about that. When it comes to the locals proclaiming that Simply Natural Creamery is the worlds #1 best good thing being offered in ice cream, you get my attention. I personally draw a line and will not choose favourites for this best good thing. I really like this top shop that seeing it full of excitement though the line patrons seeming to be putting the wait time for this yummy ice cream at the lesser end of priority, and that's if they even had any worries at all. I like and enjoy spot lighting rare shops like this especially offering an unbiased opinion on the subject of ice cream when it's not needed if you keep scrolling the many many wonderful detailed reviews below this one. So ... Just how good is it? I will just say when it comes to the #1 best thing in the world you can sure bet the farm that the Simply Natural Creamery Greenville definitely takes the price. I treated myself to two scoops in a cup and their two scoops is BIG. I had the Strawberry and Black Cherry flavoured ice cream. They were rich in flavours. You can actually taste the fruits. It was not too sweet. The consistency of the ice cream was creamy. The atmosphere of this place is calming. In the shop, once you walk in, you will be greeted with the wonderful smells of ice cream. Your nose will be stimulated. I say this because as you pull up to the shop and get out your vehicle, the first smell that will welcome you is the farm smell. The ice cream is out of this world. Creamy, tasty, wonderful flavors, and worthy the wait in line for. We were here for a car show, and thought we would try the ice cream. Multiple flavors to choose from, all hard serve; they have homemade waffle cones and home made waffle bowl. Two scoops are huge! I had a scoop of Salty Caramel and double dark chocolate. It was out of this world, great combination and creamy and great flavor. My husband had a waffle bowl with Black Cherry and Salty Caramel; the bowl had great crunch and nice flavor. The Black Cherry was flavorful, and a nice pink-red color, an intriguing combination. They have multiple interesting flavors, unfortunately I did not take a picture of the board. They also sell already packed containers of ice cream and multiple milk options and half and half. It was well worth the two hour trip for this ice cream experience. read more

The icecream scoops are HUGE but so good!! I was too busy trying to finish it, I forgot to take a picture haha! The wagon ride around the farm was fun and educational. Getting to pet the calves was great too. There's a play ground there and picnic tables for your family to sit and enjoy your ice creams. It's 4 dollars a person for the weekend wagon ride tours. It's about 30 minutes long and they run every hour on the hour until 5 I think. I think it also ends in December because the weather gets too cold I guess. Apart from selling ice cream, they also sell milk, buttermilk, smoothies and butter too. We enjoy the ice cream here - it does have that taste of good quality. A friend who used to live in the area recommended this stop on our trip back home from visiting the coast. On the way there, we thought we might be on some kind of wild goose chase exploring the farms of North Carolina. But the scenic trip was worth it! I went for the mint chocolate chip, and while I wish they used shaved chocolate, the solid chips were still flavorful. The ice cream was creamy and you can taste the freshness. I took my parents to this little shop. Dad got butter pecan and mom had black raspberry. They loved ice cream and the feel of farm and countryside. However, staffs were not particularly friendly. They seemed to have "I dont want to be here" facial expression. Didn't feel welcomed. We also bought a rack of fresh eggs thinking they would be fresh. It turns out they were not so fresh. From uptown greenville it's about half an hour drive but it's worth it! The farm itself is pretty huge and they even have hayride tours and playgrounds for kids to play in. They have a porch with a lot of chairs. You can even play checkers on one of the tables! Inside is bigger than I thought it would be. The first time I went in it was a short line but hey I went during winter time. I went again in summer and oh my the line is long. It looped around! You literally take one step in and that was the line. It took awhile to get to the front but by then I was dying to just choose an ice cream. They have several options and some seasonal ones. Ive had the strawberry cheesecake and the cookie dough. Both of which were good. The one scoop cup is basically like three scoops. They fill up the whole cup so if you don't eat a lot of ice cream you should definitely get this size. They do have waffle cones and waffle bowls as well. Their milkshake is also really delicious for a hot summer day. In the store they also sell their own ice cream in cartons, milk, and some souvenir like items. They have several t shirts and candies as well! While you wait in line you should sign their visitors book! Oh and sometimes they only accept cash so don't forget to bring it! What a surprise this place was. We enjoyed the short but scenic drive through the farmlands and were shocked by the crowds of people upon arrival. The tractor tour is an absolute must which was only a few dollars. They allowed us to hold our newborn on the ride. The tour guide was very informative and answered all questions.
