I recently coordinated the food for our company's annual summit. We have staff from across the…read morecountry come to New Bern to work together in person to brainstorm, socialize, and engage in professional development. This year, there were 13 of us, sharing multiple meals together. I reached out to the team at All About Churros to cater a lunch service for us. While I had experienced the wonderful food and service at their truck, much of our New Bern staff, and none of our remote staff, had had the pleasure. The AAC team put together a wonderful spread of Street Corn and a variety of Empanadas. And, of course, a delectable Churro tray. I should also note that they put all of the corn toppings on the side, so people could customize how spicy they wanted it. The entire experience from top to bottom was great! All of my team LOVED the empanadas - several of our staff had never even had one! I think more of the New Bern staff will be seeking out the truck in the future. We coordinated easily over email, and the team was able to easily accommodate our allergies (Tree Nuts and Strawberries). The price was more than reasonable, and the team delivered it to our office directly and right on time! I would definitely consider using them in the future for catering a gathering like this as well.

I keep forgetting about this tiny jewel in Kinston. I've been to this place one other time and have…read morehad fond memories of each trip. I have not had the pleasure of eating my way through their menu, since tonight was only my second trip. But I will say that each time I've gotten ice cream from here it's been really good. My husband tried the "Heath Bar Blast" and said it was better than what Dairy Queen makes. If you're looking for a ceiling-to-floor list of frozen treats that drives you insane when trying to make a decision, keep driving; I'm sure you'll find a Dairy Queen or something of the sort 30 minutes east on 70. This place is more of a mom-n-pop shop, which is a pleasant reminder to seasonal travelers that "The small town of Kinston is here!" Some amenities: several patio tables with umbrellas, a couple of cafe tables and chairs inside, and the best part....a drive thru! My only gripe is that it's cash only. I'm surprised to find that this place wasn't "on the map" yet. Glad I could change that :-)
