I was looking up reviews for prenatal massage on yelp and on google and found this place. It got great reviews for both. I called and scheduled my massage for 90 minutes. I got a confirmation email for 90 mins as well. I couldn't wait to come here because I was having back and leg pain. When I got here I could tell I was probably one of the last appointments for the day. The girl up front was super friendly and also confirmed my 90 minute prenatal massage. I don't remember my therapist's name but she was very friendly and sweet. I'm rating this 2 stars because she talked the WHOLE time during my massage. I knew her whole life, her husband and kids, the church she went to, where she grew up, etc. I tried to be discreet and close my eyes to give her a hint but she did not take it. It was not relaxing at all. Although the massage was good, I was upset because she only gave me a 60 minute massage. I didn't realize it until I got dressed and saw the clock. I went back to the front and said something to the girl and front desk and she apologized. I didn't get charged for the 90 min massage but still I was really hoping for the full 90 mins. Simply the best massage I've ever had! I work at a computer all day plus overdid it at the gym recently. Alicia was able to smooth out all the knots and sore spots and I feel great! It's spotlessly clean, smells lovely and the rooms are so inviting. Very easy to book an appointment. The address is easy to get to and the staff is super-friendly. SCAMMERS !!! I gave debit card info to book my appointment. I went in and realized they require at least a 2 month membership because you need to cancel in writing 30 days in advance. So I decided I can't afford it. So they charged my debit card $80 as a " cancelation fee " !!! So I had to report fraud to my bank and go through the headache of changing my debit card info for my bills . They were rude and trying to "justify " stealing my money. Great massages with an even better value! The aspect I like best about Simply Massage is its various membership packages - you really can't go wrong. They have member and non-member prices, however, the latter are still super reasonable. There are two main types of memberships: reoccurring membership fees that can be automatically drafted or pre-paid packages of 3, 6, and 12 massages that you can use over a certain period of time. Don't think you'll use all those massages? Add a family member to the plan! Feeling extra stressed out? Upgrade to a longer massage and just pay the difference! Both membership options are really low commitment. Not quite sold yet? No problem! They have first time customer rates as well. Plus they send you birthday coupons. I don't know any other place that has such flexible payment options! As far as the massages, all the masseuses I had were great. I run/play soccer, but horrible at stretching and I'm at the computer for the majority of my job (i.e., lots of tight muscles in my legs, butt, neck, and shoulders). Got rid of my knots. Always feel great after a session. If you want the table heated, just request it when you make your appointment. If you're still complaining, you're probably more high maintenance and should be looking for a spa instead. While Simply Massage might not have all those extra frills, the facility is clean and has never let me down. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Simply Massage for over a decade. The business was sold last November, and I have had billing problems ever since. After my massage today, I tried to renew the membership that had been cancelled because of the billing problems. 3 employees and my card company have confirmed to me that the problem was the billing system, but when the owner came in while I was trying to fix the issue, he became very belligerent and rude with me. As I was trying to explain the problem, he interrupted me to tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about. He raised his voice to me in front of other people and accused me of dishonesty. When I asked him to stop, he threw me out of the building. I have never been treated this terribly in a business before and I was shocked at my treatment. The therapists here are great, but the new owner has lost hundreds of dollars from a loyal customer who only wanted to renew my membership. I will be finding a better place to get my therapy with better customer treatment. I would not recommend this place, despite the great therapists, because the owner will not take responsibility for his billing system. His disregard makes me very distrustful that my card information is secure. I would avoid this place. read more

Just got a 90 minute massage with Melissa, and it was amazing! Perfect medium pressure and the warming table was amazing to thaw out from the cold air outside. I was a little late due to the construction on Woodruff Rd, but she was completely understanding and friendly, and I still got my full 90 minutes. I am very selective and judicious when looking for someone to work on my own tired, worn out, weary, ready to drop, drained and fatigued muscles. They really care about their clients and that is very evident throughout the session. They have given a great deal of thought in the design of the office and it is such a wonderfully relaxing and tranquil environment. Booking appointments online is easy as well as buying gift certificates and packages. Getting regular massages is an amazing feel-good way of taking care of yourself so I highly recommend signing up for his monthly memberships. So, I was desperate for a massage because my right shoulder was killing me. I had a feeling the massages here wouldn't be top notch but I figured they would be good enough. My masseuse was nice enough but when she came back after I had undressed, she smelled like a cigarette. Seriously? I can't believe a massage place would even hire a smoker. The massage was okay. I specifically told her about my right shoulder being the reason I came in. She worked a long time on my left shoulder and it felt pretty good so I was excited for her to do the right. She did a quick job on it and then said the massage was over. I'm guessing she mixed up my left and right shoulders. Being naked is not a position I like to be in when I argue so I didn't say anything and just left. She requested medium-deep tissue and she told me the therapist barely touched her. Did one foot then forgot the other. Did one thigh then forgot the other. I did not even know Simply Massage existed until I saw them listed as a special deal on Living Social website. Since it was such a great deal on a hour long massage, I decided to try them. My appointment was for 4:30 and I arrived 15 minutes early as suggested on their website. When I entered the salon, the lovely décor and atmosphere was immediately relaxing. There was soft ambient music playing in the background and some type of water feature in the corner. The receptionist took my name and told me the massage therapist would be with me shortly. While I was waiting, I completed a "New client" form. This had questions about the type of massage I wanted and if I had any health problems. The receptionist also offered me some hot tea or water. Patty, my massage therapist, came to greet me and take me into one of the massage rooms. When she shook my hand, I could tell that she had a strong grip and I was excited that she was going to do my massage. I told her that I like deep tissue massage to help to relax my muscles. She asked me if there were any areas that I wanted her to focus and I told her my shoulders. The massage went so great that I fell asleep because I was so relaxed. Before she started, I was a little tense. When she finished, I could not even remember where the tension was. This place is really good. The therapists, as a whole, are great. My husband and I both found therapists that we really enjoy. They have a great introductory offer of a $39 one hour massage. We joined their monthly massage club - it's $49/mth and we get one massage a month. He put the account in his name, but I can get massages at the same rate. Plus, you can buy extra massages each month at the same rate. The hours are great, too - they are open six days a week and are open late through the week. Plus, their one hour massage lasts a full hour, unlike Massage Envy, where their one hour massage is really 50 minutes. Overall, we're really happy. read more

While I can't speak to the massages, since the receptionist was so rude, I will speak to what you can look forward to when you walk in the door. No hello. No welcome. The receptionist not acknowledging your existence because she was dealing with someone's cat that was in the lobby. She had no issue fully discussing the cats day and taking care of it. However when I walked up she still couldn't be bothered to look at me, asked rudely 'what did you need?' and when I asked if an appointment was necessary she replied OH YES like I had completely insulted her. If the first 5 minutes was any indication of the relaxation I was hoping to experience, I decided my money was better spent elsewhere. I told her forget it--and she certainly didn't seem to mind. If you can get through the rude, unfriendly, and preoccupied receptionist, let me know how the massage is. read more

First of all, let me say I am deeply aggravated and this is the first review I have ever done. I dont wish to just gripe and moan, I only wish to give a recommendation for the betterment of this establishment. The person who referred me to this location recommended that I see a certain therapist because she heard this particular therapist did great deep tissue massages. I actually met the recommended therapist in the lobby and she asked that I come back to see her. I had a stressful week and needed to get in immediately. I did not mention any of my grievances during the massage, as I believe body language speaks well in this field of service. Most therapist ive had are able to tell trouble spots by touch. Let me just say, I was ecstatic that I was able to call in on a Friday at 5pm and book a 745pm "squeeze in" appt. The customer service at this place is A+. However, I feel like there should be a more thorough consultation prior to being booked with a therapist. Even the receptionist recommended trying the other therapist, but I specifically asked for a deep tissue massage and received a soft touch massage instead. The therapist rolled over every knot I had, but didn't completely release the tension so I ended up with just more frustration. I probably should have just waited it out and went to my regular masseuse, or waited to get an appt. with the therapist that the receptionist recommended. But instead I ended up aggravated that I spent $49 for not even a Swedish massage, but a rub down that my 6 year old could have done. I feel like the receptionist was more concerned with making the sale than offering the best customer satisfaction.This is by no means an insult to the therapist I had, but maybe there should be a bio on the website about each therapist and the area of expertise. read more

This place is amazing. It's a few doors down from Whole Foods and has a really calm atmosphere. It's clean, smells good and the prices are definitely affordable. I just had my first massage there last week and I feel great. Everyone is super friendly and professional. The massage was one of the best I've ever had. The receptionists don't try to push the memberships on you like other places do, although they do offer a good membership. $39.00 gets you your first massage! Cant beat that deal. Was in town for business and decided to get a massage since I noticed it was close by. I was hesitate to call because they only have three stars on here but I know that sometimes people's personal preferences effect the stars and even though they say they have a A+ service , they only give them one star. I think that's not fair because it brings down the average and usually those issues can be resolved with a simple conversation. Anyways, I decided to give them a try and called to see if they could get me in right away. They said they couldn't get me in right that minute but that they could get me in within an hour. I went to dinner and came back and had one of the best massages of my life from a lovely lady named Briann. I asked for medium pressure but she adjusted to deep during the massage on my trouble areas. She also has experience with athletes which I really liked since I run a lot and it's nice when the therapists understand those muscle movements and how to work on them. I didn't even mention the customer service which was amazing as well! Very nice and professional people here I would highly recommend. I just wish I lived closer so I could come back. :) read more

I called to make an appointment, but when the date I requested was booked the receptionist simply said "all booked" and then hung up--not even an offer of another date and time. I was excited to try this place and thrilled that they had accomodating hours but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The lobby was fairly nice but the massage room I was put in was really unacceptable. The carpet felt dirty under my bare feet and when I was waiting for the therapist to come in the room and was lying on the table looking at the walls that were covered in dust! I'm certain the sheets were cleaned and washed but they did have several stains on them. I learned from the therapist that she was a nursing student and was doing this work, not because she loved it, but as a job to get her thru school. One highlight was the receptionist at the front desk. She was really pleasant and I think she said she had been there for several years. I have gotten massages for years but it was my first time at Simply Massage. The people were so friendly and professional. The massage was probably the best one that I have ever gotten. I will not be returning to Simply Massage after dealing with the incredibly rude and unfriendly receptionists at the Woodruff Road location. The massage itself is wonderful, but I could not believe how unprofessional the front staff was. On my first visit, I was not greeted upon arrival and I was not offered anything to drink while I waited in the lobby. They act as if you are inconveniencing them if you ask them a question, and they offer little information when they do answer your question. When they call to confirm your appointment, it is also with a sharp tone. It is odd that their lobby is always empty, yet they feel comfortable acting high and mighty to the clientele that do give them their business. A business is only successful if you have the right staff. In this case, the staff is far from a home run. There are plenty of other massage businesses out there that are more deserving of my money. read more

I normally dont leave reviews but this experience still frustrates me. I was visiting some friends in Greenville and decided that I wanted a massage. I was just off of woodruff road so I decided to stop by and see when I could get an appointment. The place seemed very pleasant from the outside but oh let me tell you it stops there. I was ignored by the receptionist playing on her phone until I said excuse me. She looked up with a very annoyed look as if to say I'm busy what do you want... I am kind of stunned at this point so I continue with my questions about pricing and availability. This lady was boderline snotty and sarcastic through the whole conversation. I'm not sure why I even continued the conversation. I came in at around lunch time. I cannot believe the owner/manager allows this kind of behavior to happen.
