Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. I totally was expecting maybe another couple or two. My partner and I had just the best time and felt so important. Skip answered ever question and the stories were intriguing to say the least. We made reservations for the Red Wines but Skip let us taste a couple whites including an Albarino. Yummmmm. They will waive your tasting fee if you purchase bottles up to the same price. What a deal!!! We ended up buying three bottles. My personal fav was the Petite Verdot. Cherry on top of the whole experience was that they let us go pick some greats off the vine since they have already finished the harvest. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

Linda called only after we had left. She said she had been at the front of the hotel and had tried to call us, but we had received no earlier call, and members of our group had been watching for her around the property. I emailed Chris again to explain that our driver was 30 minutes late and that we would be late to our tasting. Linda did call the winery, which I appreciated, but I never received a response from Chris about what happened. As a repeat customer who visits Napa frequently, I expected much better communication and customer service. I won't use this service again or recommend it.

David was perfect. I had to bring my dog along and honestly, I think my dog had a better time than I did all weekend! He constantly updated me with pictures, texted me to let me know that my next winery appointment was coming soon, brought cold water, etc. Card is also accepted for an additional fee, which was great because I needed receipts for work. I ended up just doing pickup and drop off in Napa rather than in SF but great to know that it's a real option compared to the other company I had in mind. My dog got to visit the wine caves at Beringer, which something I ran out of time to do!

From the start Valet of the Moon was super communicative and sooooo knowledgeable of the valley! They sent over great options of a variety of vineyards to visit. Once we selected the places we wanted to go, they set up the PERFECT route to allow us to hit everything that we wanted to a a pace that allowed for the perfect enjoyment at each location. We were carefree and so relaxed as Colleen treated us like royalty but kept us in perfect sync with our schedule. If we needed to deviate from the plan, she was on it and Colleen went OUT OF HER WAY to act as a personal concierge for some celebratory needs that we requested. In addition to taking us to the places we requested, she managed to squeeze in several off-the-beaten-path gems that really made the day memorable. (Small Vines was our favorite--definitely worth a stop.) Also, she took us to a sandwich shop that we really liked, I wish I could remember the name. (I blame the tastings..) Regardless, Sharon is definitely a guide that cares about her passengers and makes sure that everyone leaves Sonoma with terrific memories.
