I really like getting my hair cut here. A lot of places post that walk-ins are welcome but this…read moreplace actually means it. One particular time I went there for a hair cut. I explained to the stylist that I didn't have an appointment. She said she had one haircut ahead of me and it would be about 20 minutes. The vibe is totally cool. The stylist even went the extra mile to ask if I wanted a shampoo. I always want a shampoo after getting my haircut but most of the time I forget until I'm out the door. It was nice to have someone ask if I wanted one. I've back a few times and continue to tell people about getting their haircut there because the stylists are so cool.

When possible, I like to try to support local businesses, so I decided to try Tropical Tan. I have psoriasis so I recently joined for the benefits of Red Light Therapy and Halotherapy, Already, I am seeing results! I have been through three $100 creams prescribed by my dermatologist and I'm so excited to see that the healing has begun. The staff is warm and welcoming, and beyond that they genuinely seem knowledgeable. The salon is beautifully maintained, and it's evident that the owners and staff care about the customer's experience. For a small town salon, this place rocks! And the nicest thing? I overheard a private conversation among the employees and they were talking about how great the owners are. When does that ever happen? Happy employees make for a happy business, and this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. I'm glad I opted for Tropical Tan, and for me it's worth the extra driving time. Also, if you suffer from respiratory issues or skin conditions, give this place a try. It's not just about tanning!

I was extremely put off by being accused in front of other customers that I used oils in the bed (I have been bed tanning many years and know not to use oils) when I mentioned that was me, she rolled her eyes. The prices are a bit higher than they used to be but still cheaper than some tanning places and more than others. So to me it's a wash. They change bulbs often which is a major plus to me!!! I do feel the employees should be more knowledgeable about tanning, the differences in the bed levels and if they have not heard of cocktail tanning (tanning in a bed and then spray tanning) they should probably not laugh at the customer and make snide comments, which only happened once and I only saw that employee that one time. Overall it is a clean place and while the beds are older they do maintain them and change bulbs regularly, which is important.
