I had asked to see how 70% looked and a sample strip was applied just so I could see how dark it was. I appreciated this extra help. There was clear communication each step of the process, so I never felt lost. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Fast forward a month later, I still see some spots that seemed blurry. I made contact again via Yelp and explained my concern. I was told that a month is more than enough time for it to cure. So we setup an appointment so that they could inspect it and re-do the tint if necessary. Unfortunately, it did seem like it needed to be redone. No tint shop has 100% free of imperfection so I am overall happy with the tints. I don't know if they would retint but I also didn't ask so I won't dock them for it. The price is comparable to some other places. I found cheaper ones but either the reviews or poor communication swayed me away from them. They answer quick, so I assume if I have/had an issue they would address it. By the way it's like a 20 min walk to target, so bring a snack/drink while you wait. I had an appointment but there were two other people there already so it did take a few hours.

THE QUOTE: Through Yelp message they gave me a quote for my Tesla though I did not provide % I wanted. When I arrived for my appointment, they told me 30% was only available in ceramic - price was more than quoted. THE MAIN PROBLEM: the ceramic tint is green and my stock tint on the rear windows are brownish. I can definitely notice when looking at the car from the side. I just feel like they should have known and could have told me about the color difference since they have tinted Teslas before. NOW WHAT? I can probably go back and have the tint replaced under warranty since there are a few small bubbles. I was told they can replace with different tint % only if lower or same cost. BUT they will take longer for warranty work since its unpaid - prob over an hour. I just don't feel like waiting so I guess I will live with it for now...

After searching a lot of the forums, it was clear that (a) car dealers usually vend out their windshield work anyway and (b) Golden State was one of those vendors. If you're reading this you already know Golden State has great reviews and have been around for several years. So I sent an inquiry to their info account and Mark the owner responded promptly. Over several emails, Mark gave me a quote, answered all my questions and scheduled an appointment at their facility, all very promptly. I dropped off the car (with my usual separation anxiety), the appointment went smoothly and the new glass looked great. But, the installer pointed out a "bubble" in the rear-view mirror seal and said it may or may not self-correct in a few days, and I should let them know if not. Bottom line, it didn't, I did, and Mark said he'd order a new seal and send Jesus to my house to do the fix. Jesus was quick and professional and now the mirror seal looks perfect. The whole experience was professional, no-hassle and confidence-inspiring (and "dealership quality"). I'd highly recommend Golden State Auto Glass.
