She earned her trust, helped her process the trauma, and gave her practical tools she continues to use today. I went in and found a really great doctor there, but man, they make you pay through the nose. And…read morethen follow-up appointments are $500 an hour or $250 every half hour, and they will not renew your prescriptions if you don't actively have regular appointments. The brain scan and the counsel and the supplement advice I received were helpful to know, but I think I could have gotten a lot more out of those $5,000. It really didn't tell me anything new and they didn't prescribe me anything revolutionary. Even though I can see what's going on with my brain, you still have to think your way through this. So I don't think if you're considering whether you should spend $6,660 at the Amen Clinic or invest it in cognitive behavioral therapy, I say you'd be better off using it on therapy. It was an interesting experience, albeit expensive and not so fruitful, but I think the worst part is the not getting prescriptions renewed because I don't want to pay 500 bucks an hour. I found it's not a true "care" or solution place- it's a profit center primarily, with short-term focus and poor priorities for human care.
