My experience at UGP With Jubal. He is the best. Still speechless…read more Jubal: what brings you in today? Me: I haven't hit a fairway with my driver since 1999. I played last week at Pebble beach and had to quit after the first hole because I ducked hooked all my balls in the woods. Please help Jubal: okay. Let me see you hit a few. Me: (thwack ... boom.... curse word, curse word, slam driver into the ground). Do you have another ball? Jubal: I've never seen a person lose a ball in a golf simulator. I am glad you came. I can fix your driver yips. (Tinker tinker screw screw). Try this club. Aim a little left and swing along your feet. Me: okay. ( thwack ... boom ... curse word, curse word, slam driver into the ground). Jubal: Uhhhh?! What was wrong with that? You hit that 350 with a 2 yard fade. Me: That is my routine. After I hit driver, I turn around say the four letter word in both adverb and verb form and slam the club into the ground. Jubal: well, after you hit the shot, you don't have to do that anymore. Me: What's a fade? Jubal: It's when the ball starts left and gently goes right and hits the fairway. Me: Wow. I have never seen that before. What kind of shaft and club head is this? Jubal. The shaft is made out of unicorn hair and the club head is made out of adamantium. Me: Really? Jubal: here at ugp we have the latest tech to help you play better at affordable prices. Hit another one. Me: ( thwack ... boom ... curse word, curse word, slam driver into the ground). Jubal: You hit that 360 dead straight. You don't have to curse and slam the club into the ground anymore. Me: Oh. My bad I forgot. Wow. You fixed it. I am speechless. Jubal: You're welcome. I am glad I can help. Me: What's a fade again? Jubal: Have fun. I am happy you stopped by. Me: Wow. Thank you.

So if they can trust him, who wouldn't. Kevin did an amazing job making this a fun and comfortable fitting all while dropping his vast knowledge when needed. He's definitely a people's person and takes care of his customers to the greatest extent. The complex here is also second to none especially in the area. I wouldn't hesitate if you're thinking about booking a club fitting. The best customer service, experience, and top notch facilities.

**NICE CLASSIC CITY GOLF**…read more PARKING Parking can get crowded, even on weekdays, so be prepared to park a little farther away and walk to the clubhouse. Arriving early for tee times helps. PRICE For Los Angeles, the rates are very reasonable and one of the better values for an 18-hole municipal course. Rancho Park 18-Hole Rates * Weekdays: $42 * Weekends/Holidays: $53 ($58 before 9:00 a.m.) * Twilight: $28 weekdays / $35 weekends * Super Twilight: $19 weekdays / $24 weekends Additional Fees * Electric cart: $11-$18 * Pull cart: $8 (18 holes) / $5 (9 holes) 3-Par Course (9 holes) * Weekdays: $12 * Weekends: $14 COURSE Rancho Park is a classic muni course located right in the middle of the city. The layout is fairly forgiving for beginners but still enjoyable for more experienced players. The fairways are generally in good condition and the greens are usually well maintained and roll true. Hole 4 is a personal favorite. One unique feature is the constant overhead airplane traffic from nearby Santa Monica Airport, which adds a fun and very "LA" atmosphere during your round. OVERALL This is one of the most convenient courses in LA and a great place to get a round in without leaving the city. It's only about 10 minutes from home for me, and it's easy to get paired with friendly golfers from all over LA. The course is affordable, accessible, and consistently enjoyable. A solid 4/5.

Easily the best golf specific fitness training facility in Los Angeles, period. Nobody is as…read morecomprehensive as Chris Hook and Dr. Mike Scott in producing real results for serious players. Following an assessment built to profile each player and customize developmental programming, their team will take you through what becomes a lifelong pursuit of developing an understanding and implementation strategy that will help you play better golf with more power, speed, and stamina. I trained as a junior golfer at IMG David Leadbetter Academy, played Division I Collegiate Golf, and played briefly on the professional circuits. I have had countless of physical trainers along the way, and when it comes to smart, efficient, and PGA Tour- Level fitness training, Golf Fitness Los Angeles is the way to go. I LOVE working out here…read more Golf Fitness Los Angeles is owned by Kim and Chris Hook. They offer golf specific fitness training, golf lessons with a PGA pro, they have a sweet 10 foot simulator so you can work on your swing with video analysis. Its a great facility and the rates are super reasonable. I've worked out with both of them and they are both great! I honestly cannot say enough good things about them, and if I could give their gym 100 stars, I would. I started training with Kim 3 years ago. I set out to just do a few training sessions to get back on track as I'd always been an exerciser but had fallen off the wagon. My experience with Kim was so postive that I kept coming back. Its three years later and I'm so glad I'm still working with her and Chris. I've lost some weight, I feel a lot stronger and healthier, and I feel more balanced in my attitudes towards food and exercise. I've lost body fat without going on a crazy fad diet. I love it! I've always gotten lots of personal attention here. Both Kim and Chris have extensive knowledge of physiology and continue to study. They are always taking classes and attending seminars so I know I'm in good hands. I've gotten the most comprehensive workouts here - strength, balance, flexibility, power, stamina... They aren't in to trends or fads. If I mention a fad diet to Kim, she has usually already studied it and can site scientific journals that refute the claims of that diet. They've worked with me to find something that works for me. The gym space is fun and intimate. You'll get a lot of personalized attention in a gym with great equipment so you can reach your goals. And its literally right across the street from Rancho Park Golf course, so you can get a quick workout in, or stretch out, or take a class right before you tee off. Try it out!
