I've had to create DCPs a few times before but not for festival use so being my first time working with Simple DCP I was A. Concerned about cost and B. Technical ability of myself to make sure they had the deliverables. A. They were extremely affordable for the creation of it. A couple of hundred bucks and an easy setup to upload files. B. They were able to tweak my audio to get it to pass QC, I didn't have to do anything. That's great! And lastly they work with all of the major film festivals so once you create one with them - there is no more cost and literally just a form to fill out so they can get your DCP to other festivals you get in. Crooks! Used their company to play at a festival and it didn't work! The venue is TCL Chinese Theater, which you would assume a company making DCP files would know what to expect from a huge company like TCL Chinese Theater and communicate that to their clients but nope. They took their money and ran...then tried to justify their actions. In legal terms this is called, "services weren't rendered." Why would you take your clients money if the product you produced doesn't work as advertised and pitched from their sales guys?!? Stay clear! Go to dcpforall dot com instead! Simple DCP is GREAT. They're super professional, FAST, and they QC their DCP's, which a lot of other companies don't do. I also like that I have the option of keeping my DCPs stored with them, and they'll send it out for me whenever a film festival or venue needs it, so I don't have to deal with it. I've worked with them on a couple of my films now, and I saw that some weirdo posted a lame review of them here talking crazy, so I had to speak up.
