The cabinets were originally a dark wood, at least 30+ years old, and had many small scratches and dings. The hinges, which showed, were tarnished and old and many of the drawer glides stuck and squeaked. In short, this much-loved and hard-working kitchen was in need of a remodel. I wanted to find a painter (there are many "painters" out there) with experience and knowledge, someone who would do the necessary prep, use quality paint, and produce a smooth and strong finish that could hold up to regular use. Enter craftsman Anthony Martin. Now that the job is finished, all I can say is wow, wow, and WOW! His work surpassed all my expectations. Here are some details about the meticulous care he takes to provide a quality finished product: 1. Before Anthony even began, we had many discussions about paint color, paint quality, hardware, etc. Ultimately, he recommended and installed invisible self-close hinges and drawer glides and he provided recommendations on modern pull handles. 2. He recommended additional trim which modernized and framed up my old kitchen beautifully, giving it the most handsome finished look. 3. He uses the highest quality Sherwin Williams cabinet paint which can be mixed to any color you choose. Mine is a specific Benjamin Moore color which formula he had mixed at Sherwin Williams. 4. Anthony's prep work and attention to detail is incredible. This guy is NOT in a hurry. He is a meticulous craftsman with a fine eye and careful attention to detail. 5. He uses several thin coats of paint, and his finished product is glass-like, strong (like an oil paint), and looks like new cabinetry. 6. He caulks every join, repairs every nick, smooths every surface. Gaps and dings you didn't even know you had disappear. 7. Once he begins your kitchen, he stays with your job until it is complete. He doesn't drift in and out (like other contractors), juggling multiple jobs at once. He focuses on your kitchen and gets it done. 8. He is very dedicated to pleasing the homeowner. In terms of trim, that meant trying one thing and then another, even painting a couple unnecessary pieces. None of this caused his price to increase. 9. The price he quotes you is the price you pay, and except for the initial deposit, you pay this at the end when he has finished. There is no request for interim payment or surprise increased add-ons at the end. In short, my experience with Anthony Martin and Signature Cabinet Painting has been entirely positive. I am thrilled with my finished kitchen and have already recommended Anthony to family and friends. If you want a craftsman to paint, trim, re-do your kitchen, Anthony Martin is the guy.
