That stay at the Washington property was a nightmare (mostly from a billing perspective). When we arrived in Metrotown, the issue at the Washington property was still unresolved. As a kind gesture, upon hearing of our troubles the previous night, Hilton Metrotown upgraded us from a standard king to a king suite. They certainly didn't have to do this, but it was greatly appreciated. The hotel was spotless, room was equally spotless and comfortable. Shower pressure was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was great, and the bartender went out of his way to make sure that we were taken care of. We had two dogs with us. The pet fee and policy was very reasonable. Parking was fine, considering that it is in an urban an area. Valet parking is an option, but we didn't use it. Late on the second night of our stay, the toilet in our room decided to stop working. The night staff did their best to try and fix it, but they couldn't, and we ended up having to change rooms at 1:30 AM. Certainly an unfortunate situation, but we file it under "stuff happens." We appreciate the efforts of the night crew, and they quickly got us situated into a different room. Despite the one hiccup, we are very pleased with our stay here. The location was perfect for what we needed, and the service was good - even under less than ideal circumstances.

Great location ~ within close walking distance to a couple shopping malls, grocery store across the street, a couple nice Italian and ramen restaurants with a couple blocks. Chica San Chen bubble tea shop downstairs next to the lobby! Complimentary breakfast was the usual but relaxing mornings with plenty of comfortable seating with window views. And at the Element Vancouver, that is what we got. "Welcome you two to the Element Vancouver", no haggling over small details. We found our way to our room quickly, and soon appreciated the Element's proximity to Burnaby's many restaurants. You do realize that you are effectively in a major city, with ambulances carousing down Kingsway seemingly at all hours, and the elevators seemed to take forever to 'latch on' to their destination floors, but overall the experience was a positive one. Front desk staff friendly and able to provide with extra supplies. Free breakfast had plenty of fixings, and we had a friendly lady named Crystal give us some of the details of the building during one happy hour. The pool was nice, if a bit overrun by the hockey crowd on the Saturday we were there. Otherwise there were plenty of resources, and the washing and drying machines kept us from having to do laundry on our trip back to San Francisco. Well done, Element Vancouver!

The lady at the front desk was very friendly. Our room was easy to find, but the parking lot is TIGHT. Be cautious if you have a larger vehicle. One thing that really irritated me - they advertise as pet friendly, and when I called to book, I specified that we needed a pet friendly room and was happy to pay the pet fee. When we arrived, we found that all the grass on the property had been ripped out - maybe they're updating it or something, I don't know. but they really should mention that. It was a real pain finding somewhere for my dog to do it's business - our options were a) in the parking lot or b) in the dirt. I just wish they had mentioned that there was no green space available. Oddly enough, the BEST part of our stay doesn't even exist according to their website. In the FAQs for the hotel it says that there is NOT a pool onsite, but there is. It is an outdoor heated pool and it was INCREDIBLE. The water was so warm, it was really lovely to float around in for a bit before bed.

Prices are very reasonable, the property is very well maintained, attractive, and clean, and all staff members we encountered were over the top, friendly and helpful. There are several places within walking distance to eat, such as a Starbucks, a white spot, a little coffee place right next-door, as well as a burger restaurant attached to the hotel. There are also cute little puns written in various places around the hotel that made me laugh.

She loves the duck so much we asked the manager if we could purchase it when we checked out. He actually gave her that one and allowed her to pick out another one! That's amazing customer service. The room was clean, well stocked and quiet--wick is a must when traveling. Anything we needed they had. Comfortable beds, warm blankets and a powerful shower. Loved it. Needless to say, we will choose this hotel on our return trip.

I think I expected the room to be a bit nicer considering the lobby is so nice. Rooms were plain, had a mini fridge, no microwave. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was small, and door barely swifts past the toilet. Location is close to the mall, restaurants, drive into downtown. I do appreciate not having to pay for parking.

I left my luggage in the car overnight and staff said they have not heard of any incident of theft. I parked my car close to the entrance as well. If you are not comfortable leaving your belongings in the car then you can bring it to your room. I had a very heavy luggage that's why I didn't feel lugging it around in a flight of stairs. No elevator by the way. The front desk is open until 12 am. There are 2 complimentary bottled water in my room. There's free refills beside the front desk as well as free snacks like popcorn, banana, pop tarts, hot tea, etc. The room is clean and decent. It is simple. Room comes with cable tv, small fridge, microwave, and steamer. Next door has a gym and I believe for hotel guests there's just a $5 fee to gain access each time. Nearby there are 2 pizza places, and a sushi restaurant. You will need a car if you want more options to eat or coffee. I'm giving this five stars for what it is, clean and friendly service by the staff. Of course it cannot be compared to five star accommodations but for something inexpensive and short stay, it is worth considering this option.

When we arrived it was late and the door was locked. We called the number & Rebecca came to help us. Despite the late hour, she was super friendly, funny and helpful ! She gave us an info package and keys - yes actual keys ! To both the hotel ( for when it was locked ) and the room. We stayed for a few days and moved rooms a few times. The king bed rooms were colourful and had both fridge and microwave. We got it for a really good rate. It's a no frills type place, but it's clean and quiet. Staff is friendly. If I was in the area I would stay here again.

They are a somewhat dated "all suite hotel" we had booked on Priceline so the room we got was a Queen suite. My husband joked around about it being our anniversary ( last weekend it was - and we stayed at the JW Merritiot I can't imagine staying here for anything other then necessity ) She gave us our keys and a old, slow, rickety elevator took us up to the second floor. As soon as we walked in the room reeked if smoke of some sort. As I have allergies, asthma, and had just signed a form stating I would be fined 200$ for in room smoking - we turned around, went back to front desk and asked for a different room. She mentioned that we could upgrade to the King jacuzzi suite for 30$ extra. We decided to do this. However she misunderstood and we got keys to another Queen suite in the second floor. This one was way worst then the first. It smelt like an ashtray. My throat got sore and my allergies started up. Once again we returned back down to the desk and just said upgrade us please ! The King suite on the 4th much better ! The hallways had some nice glass designs throughout. The carpets were also new that were going down the hall. The rooms did appear to be renovated. And It didn't smell like smoke, and had a bigger bed although the "Queen" looked more like a double and the "King" more like a Queen. When you walk in, there is a small sofa and table. There is a sink across from it as well as a fridge. There may of been a microwave as well but I wasn't looking. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub. We were expecting a jacuzzi in the middle of the room, so it was a slight disappointment but the towels were big and fluffy. The room had fresh paint, and the furniture looked to be newer and more modern. However the TV wasn't very big, and they desperately needed to replace the carpet, drapes and smoke detector. You could tell at one point they had been smoked in heavily because of the yellow discolouration. Our room over looked the outdoor pool & hot tub. We were told they were sold out since May, but I found that hard to believe since we had been in 3 unoccupied rooms and there were only 2 people in the pool. We slept in, and check out was at noon, but they never called the room until one or so, then gave us another 45 m to get ready, pack and leave. This was appreciated. There was a separate room with a hideaway bed and a second tv. (Too bad they had a minimum number of channels and no way to log into your own streaming services). Obviously they wanted you to watch PPV movies. It's a decent hotel, room was quiet. They don't really care about fostering repeat business, obviously. One night's room rate is the price of me never booking with them, or their chain again.
