There was a misunderstanding between the Wescadia representative and I but I was unhappy to find out about the charge for water (moreso the beverage containers). Otherwise communication with the main Cecil Green rep Lindsay was easy and efficient over email. She is very understanding and accommodating with my questions and requests. I was staying on campus for a few days and decided to visit the botanical garden for a nice walk. I…read morewas pleasantly surprised with the amount of flowering plants as the weather was still quite cold. The trail map was easy to follow and there were multiple areas to explore. I was fascinated by the medicinal herb area as each plant described the ailments it could treat. There was also a large area for growing produce that is being used to feed needy people in Vancouver. A portion of the trail is paved and there are also trails that are mostly mulch. It takes about 2 hours to cover the whole garden if you go at a leisurely pace. There are restrooms throughout the garden and the staff is very friendly. The parking lot is spacious and the parking rates are inexpensive. I believe it was $1.50 CA per hour. The google maps did route me to the back of the garden (no parking or entrance) so you may have to loop around to get to the front entrance. There is an information booth right in the front and the staff will give you a quick explanation of the layout of the place.

The food was also well presented on the table. Because many of the guest lives in Vancouver West side, this was the closest venue. The restaurant was well decorated. Sage did a pretty good job and they made sure all the guests were well taken care of. I saw them making multiple rounds clearing plates.

Except.... it seems a whole lot smaller than what I remembered. The sound effect or surround sound equipment was really nice. At the start of the ceremony, UBC music school had a band playing acoustic music in the background. That was very nice. You can hear each sound very nice and crisp. It is a lovely venue no doubt. They have two tier limited seating balconies. From the look at it, you might be able to sit around 300 people max.

I purposely sat in the back once to see that pianist rock star from China, Lang Lang play La Campanella from the Paganini Etudes. He was effing amazing to watch. His fingers blazed on the keyboard and he didn't miss a note. The acoustics are wonderful and I've been here for operas, professional performances, as well as student performances.

The museum is beautifully designed, with a spacious layout, abundant natural light, and thoughtfully curated exhibits. I spent over two hours exploring, and every moment was worth it. Getting there was easy--I took an Uber from my hotel, and the ride was quick both ways. If you're in Vancouver and have an appreciation for museums and history, MOA is absolutely a place you shouldn't miss.

Walking distance to the seawall. Their coffee was good and also their London Fog. Nice selection between savoury and sweets to go with the coffee. They also have selections local goods to purchase as well as frozen pies, which I should pick up next time! Service was prompt and very courteous. Plenty of street parking in front or the street over. A must visit and don't forget to take home the topped foccacia!
