Stayed here for one night during my stay in Vancouver. I would say overall experience was not bad but this hotel although a bit renovated it's on the older side. They also have a lot to offer starting from different restaurants to Starbucks, gym, outdoor Sauna as well as pool, and a lounge. However check in was a bit rough as the check in staff seemed a bit stress and not so friendly. Our room was a great room that had the view of downtown Vancouver and had a balcony as well. I do hope the check in process improves for future guests as this hotel still has a lot of potential being located in the heart of downtown Vancouver and walkable to many locations.

My daughter and I stayed here while vacationing in Vancouver. I chose this hotel because there's free shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge and there's a train station (Burrand) next to it. You can take the Expo Line from Burrand Station to Pacific Central Station and then take Amtrak to cross the border back to the States. I had a rental car for a night where I took it to Whistler for a day trip. We really enjoyed our stay here especially there's so many places to shop and restaurants to eat as well. We'll definitely come stay in the future. Parking is shared underground parking with Royal Centre. During Christmas time, there was a display of gingerbread houses. If you need to do laundry, I recommend Laundry Valet (coin laundromat). Price was very reasonable.

Fantastic location and a wonderful stay! I'm a Hyatt member and used points for a one-night stay with my friend. Our room on the 10th floor had a great balcony view, and the convenience couldn't be better, there's a McDonald's and Tim Hortons right outside the hotel. We were able to walk to Robson Street, the Waterfront, and several nearby attractions with ease. Parking was $40 CAD and included in-and-out privileges. Check-in was quick and smooth, and after a full day of sightseeing, we slept soundly. I did grab the extra pillow and blanket from the closet for extra comfort, but that's just personal preference. Overall, a great experience, I'd happily stay here again!

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver for 3 nights before our cruise and really enjoyed our stay! We booked with points, and the location couldn't be better--right in downtown, close to major attractions and easily walkable to many sights. Our room had a lovely view of the Fairmont Hotel, was quiet, and had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and functional, and we especially appreciated that housekeeping was able to provide us with indoor slippers upon request. The front desk staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great stay--I'd definitely choose the Hyatt Regency again the next time we visit Vancouver.

Haven't stayed here in years and ended up paying less per nite than the Marriott Pinnacle. It's been years since I last stayed at this location and was given a really nice room on the 8th floor which all things considered I rarely stay at a Hyatt brand having been a Marriott Bonvoy member for such a long time. Room rates per night were insane and I booked over 45 days ago prepaying to get a lower rate most likely due to Cruise season which started in May and the hotels throughout the city jacking up the rates for The FIFA Cup. I normally stay at the Marriott Pinnacle but that hotel price was higher than the Hyatt this time around. Besides liking my room, I like the convenience of Starbucks being in the Lobby and opening up at 0530 hours and proximity to the restaurants that I would go to in the area. Ice machines are on the 4th floor adjacent to and outside the gym instead of being on every other or each floor.

Service here was impeccable. Seamless checkin and our concierge was fantastic. Recommended great places to eat and where to go. Even lent us an umbrella. First class service. My room was huge on the 23rd floor. I had a fantastic view of downtown. California King bed. Super comfy. Love their Starbucks at the lobby with places to sit and catch up on morning work. I'd definitely stay here again when I come for business. Highly recommend. Cheers!

Review for the hotel for a conference. Service and staff for conference was great. Unfortunately the ballroom was very hot and the door was a hit and miss. All chicken dishes were great on all days but the other protein dishes were either overcooked or under seasoned. All beverages stations were well maintained and bar service was wonderful during evening events

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Front desk staff offered an early check-in, which was most needed as my wife wasn't feeling well. Cleaning staff was wonderful and helpful. So great to have a Starbucks in the lobby, and many close restaurants nearby. Easy walking distance to ship port terminal, Gastown, and other attractions. Took a few extra steps to figure out the hotel elevator/lift. I hope to be back in Vancouver one day. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Excellent Hyatt alert! Staff was very friendly and made sure to offer me all the upgrades and extensions they had at the time. This location is in the heart of the city and has plenty of restaurants within walking distance. From the YSR airport we went upstairs to the 4th floor, tapped to pay, and entered the canada line shuttle which takes you just three blocks from the Hyatt regency...soo convenient. Refillable water stations are bottles are available (fee may occur based on hyatt status). There is a Starbucks, bar, restaurant, and fitness center on the premise. To my surprise the rooms have starbucks coffee, thank God! Rooms also have medium plush beds with medium firm pillows. Room also has lounge and desk chairs, and plenty of lighting. Lastly they have dedicated elevators by floor, super convenient once you get the hang of it. This Hyatt has all the bells and whistles and I highly recommend a stay here.

Great location and great property. Administration staff were really polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. Per my reservation I had the option of early check in when I got to the hotel around 9:45AM my room was ready and clean. House keeping service was to the point and quick. Security was to the point and you can feel that. There are two restaurants in the lobby, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner based on their schedule. Taxis are available all the time right in front of the entrance. My bed was so comfortable and had one of the most comfortable mattress I ever slept on. Shower had hot water instantly, water pressure was great. All and all, I will stay at this hotel again and again.

This is a photgraphy competition, friendly of course, but there are catches., with a new catch for this year's 2012 competition. http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/salt-building-vancouver?select=L_6w9BcDkIY4mFJkwd59SQ#Tauo1LC-G8fbqfxbek4lVA Each competitor must: 1. Take 1 photograph of a theme announced once, every hour on the hour 2. Intepret the announced theme in a single shot 3. 12 shots in total meaning you're on the hunt to interpret a theme each hour for 12 hours. 4. The photograph is on film. Not digital. 5. This year's catch is.... black and white film only. I've come out to this exhibit every year since it's inception. They had it at another venue in previous years, but it was horribly crowded and stuffy. This was a welcomed change, much welcomed. Maybe next year I'll do it. I'll have to dust off one of my film cameras.

(yes there are foundations in place to protect our heritage buildings, but I'm making sweeping generalizations here) When the Salt Building was first being revitalized during the pre-Olympic building-frenzy era, there was talk of the space being used as a pub or high-end restaurant or some other variation on that theme. Though it may have been entirely acceptable -- and maybe even great -- if that were the case today (and who knows, it may very well be the case in the future), but it almost seems as though that would be a bastardization of this minimal bare-bones structure. The building is gorgeous. Bookended with mammoth-sized windows, allowing plenty of light to pour in throughout the almost 14,000sq foot space, exposing the elaborate timber trusses and metal hardware, and shining of the polished concrete floor, there is not one thing I'd change here. It would be a shame to cover any of it up. A perfect event location, an ideal gathering space, an overwhelmingly stunning surprise in an area that is known for making everything "pretty," the Salt Building is, at this moment, a perfect homage to its historic past.

My kid had her high school prom here, and there are often various community events held here, as well as private parties, receptions and weddings. Today I finally got the chance to visit the building, though, as there was a weekend-long artisan fair held here. What a lovely venue! Outside, by the entrance, there is a plaque on the facade declaring this building as a "Heritage Building" (designated as such in 1974). The actual building was built in 1915 and was first used as a post office. For those who care about architectural and design styles, the building is classified as being done in the Beaux Arts Classicism style, with a lot of ornamentation on the sculptured columns and facade's stone. There are many sculpted faces and sandstone festoons visible on the first and second story exterior. Inside, the first floor used to be a grand ballroom, and it was recently re-done (in 2015), so now there is a terrazzo floor, and where once was a huge trompe l'oeil mural is now a blank wall (bummer). There still are beautiful chandeliers and an ethereal ceiling that's reminiscent of calming green-blue sea glass. Today at the artisan fair, there were tables lined up and creating aisles in the ballroom, so the room looked somewhat small. I'd imagine the venue appearing much larger and spatially impressive without all the tables. I was impressed by this building. It was lovely inside and out. The location on Main Street is awesome, too, with tons of parking on Main and the side streets, and so many fun shops, coffee houses and restaurants nearby.

It's inside a building, but signage outside is small and not very clear, so it took a bit of wandering before I even found the line. I actually even passed the building up while walking. I needed to use the restroom before going up and saw signage for the one near the food court. Honestly, it was absolutely disgusting and didn't have paper towels. I ended up walking completely out. When I asked the lookout staff about a restroom, I was initially told there wasn't one. Then once they asked if I was intending on buying a ticket, it suddenly appeared that there all of a sudden was a restroom available upstairs. Hmmm but at any rate, it was a completely different experience from the first restroom. Thank goodness. The lookout itself feels dated. You do get a full bird's-eye view of the city, but there wasn't anything especially exciting or memorable about it. They also charged more than what was posted on the signage, so it looks like a recent price increase, $24 CAD mid June. Overall, if you go in with low expectations and just want a quick view of the city, it's fine. But I wouldn't call it a must-do in Vancouver.

Inside there are lots of old remains of ironworks bringing you industrial steampunk realness, and separate rooms to mingle and drink. Well, at this event there was a beer and wine selection so drink we did! A small glass of red went for $5 which is pretty decent, and they had a table of Geek Sweet Cupcakes for sale as well. YUM! The fashion show was fierce and they had some bands in between which were so-so. What I liked about this space was that there was space for a live band to play with a small stage, and there was also space for a runway (I'm not sure if that was brought in from somewhere else or something the venue rents) but it was pretty cool to have both, plus a separate room with a small bar set up, and a backstage area. What I'm sayin' is that this room is pretty diverse, and there's a lot you can do with it and I like that.
