My case was closed in 2016, I found out a year later that my medical bills weren't paid as stated in the contract and was sent to bill collectors. I was harassed by bill collectors and my credit was ruined. Attempting to contact Keith Short after several phone calls I was able to talk to him, he admitted that there were some remaining unpaid medical bills and that he will go after the insurance company, also, if I have any further concerns I should speak with Samantha. Every time I've contacted Samantha I was given a different story of why Keith Short hasn't done what he's suppose to do in regards to clearing my medical bills. To date, 8 years later, my medical bills still remain unpaid. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Keith Short AS A LAWYER. Based on that recommendation, I paid Eric another $4,200 in total to handle two cases. Nearly five years later, I am still repeatedly going to court over an old case involving approximately $34 worth of merchandise from Walmart. I provided documentation of treatment, 90 days of NA meetings, a theft-awareness program, and three negative hair-follicle tests. Despite paying thousands of dollars, I still don't know what meaningful motions, investigation, defenses, or negotiations have actually been pursued on my behalf. To my knowledge, the State provided the discovery without counsel having to pursue it. Now I am being told the State wants the maximum sentence while an open plea to the judge is being discussed. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee results. My complaint is about the representation I personally experienced: poor communication, little explanation of what was being done, and very little visible advocacy for the money I paid. I paid a total of $4,200 and still owe 700.When your freedom is on the line, you expect to know how your attorney is fighting for you. I did not feel that I received that level of representation. Either he just wasn't paying attention to that blatant violation of the Missouri Rules for Professional Conduct, or he just doesn't know the Rules. Speaking of rules, like COMMUNICATION, while still under representation, he stopped responding to me when the guy who was suing me for this case harassed my wife and our massage business to the point that she had to get an Ex Parte immediate order of Protection. He didn't contact me until after I wrote a Negative Facebook Review about him not responding to me about the guy suing me when we still had an open case. He also charged me several hours for "researching laws" when I gave him a signed contract that I had with the company that hired the person who didn't pay me for a job, and got a bad google review over it. It takes 5 minutes to look up the copyright law that made their entire case invalid. I would not recommend him for anything that requires paying attention or responding in a timely manner.
