I grew fed up with paying exorbitant legal fees only to have my two previous lawyers do nothing. I was in the market for another attorney and I started calling around to different family law firms in Edwardsville. I spoke to an attorney who couldn't take my case, but I was referred to Amanda. From the very start, Amanda was honest and up front about what could/ or couldn't happen. She was brutally honest with me about my case and totally prepared me for what happens during a child custody dispute. She was not only very adept at representing me in my child custody matter, she fought hard for the best interests of my child. Many lawyers, (or at least my previous two) had only worried about getting paid and seemed to drag things out just to cost me more money. Amanda didn't do that to me. She is a compassionate, kind person and a passionate legal representative that will advocate strenuously for you and your child's rights. She is excellent at what she does! I never once doubted her abilities nor did I at any point lose confidence in her. If you are looking for a family lawyer that will stand up for you and your child, she will do that and so much more. I can never thank her enough for her help, her efforts and hard work.

I got behind on my mortgage and when in bankruptcy it's worse than being a regular homeowner, essentially I had less than 30 days to provide ~$3500 to my trustee. Then one month later my car has a blown head gasket. I have to purchase a new car- again, in bankruptcy this is a whole process and you're obviously not treated like a normal borrower. In the state of Missouri it is supposed to take approximately 21 days to have a Motion to Obtain debt approved by a judge. Next week will be 90 days & I'm out here taking Ubers to work. There's a huge lack of communication from this office. When they want their money they couldn't care less about your personal hardships and you must pay NOW but when you need something they expect you to be patient and understanding....people quit, somebody is working 12 hour days, somebody has medical issues etc. I thought I paid them to work for me?? I would NOT hire Eric Boehmer…read more I paid Robert Woller $1,000 before he told me he was retiring and recommended Eric Boehmer. Based on that recommendation, I paid Eric another $4,200 in total to handle two cases. Nearly five years later, I am still repeatedly going to court over an old case involving approximately $34 worth of merchandise from Walmart. I provided documentation of treatment, 90 days of NA meetings, a theft-awareness program, and three negative hair-follicle tests. Despite paying thousands of dollars, I still don't know what meaningful motions, investigation, defenses, or negotiations have actually been pursued on my behalf. To my knowledge, the State provided the discovery without counsel having to pursue it. Now I am being told the State wants the maximum sentence while an open plea to the judge is being discussed. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee results. My complaint is about the representation I personally experienced: poor communication, little explanation of what was being done, and very little visible advocacy for the money I paid. I paid a total of $4,200 and still owe 700.When your freedom is on the line, you expect to know how your attorney is fighting for you. I did not feel that I received that level of representation. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend his firm

If you like hiring an attorney who files to have your house sold a year after it was sold, and a junior attorney who perhaps ruins your entire life because they are upset about their own lack of accountability, then go with Jonathon. Ask why you cannot leave a voicemail. Ask why there is no mechanism to make you aware of filings. I very strongly suggest due diligence. I think there are decent people here who may have indecent personal matters going on, but those were never disclosed to me and forced me into a financially untenable legal position. Withdrawing a day before he told me--and before the trial was complete--is client betrayal and unacceptable.

# A Devastating Failure of Advocacy During the Most Critical Time of My Life…read more I am writing this review under my own name because people deserve to understand my experience. My litigation has now been ongoing for over two years, and since my representation by Jonathan Marks, I have consulted with multiple highly respected attorneys in Missouri regarding the events that occurred during my case really before it even started. The consistent concern I have heard is not simply about the outcome, but about the process, the lack of preparation, the lack of communication, and decisions that I believe were made without my informed consent. I hired an attorney to protect me during one of the most financially and personally catastrophic periods of my life. My companies were under attack, my financial world was unraveling, and I was navigating an extremely complex divorce and business matter involving significant assets and consequences. Despite the seriousness and complexity of the situation, critical decisions were made before a full financial record had even been developed before the court and before substantive divorce proceedings had truly begun. A temporary arrangement was entered that, in my view, mirrored major settlement terms and impacted significant rights and claims without the level of analysis, preparation, and consultation I expected from my counsel and in a hearing that it belonged. What remains most disturbing to me is how those decisions were reached. Negotiations and conversations occurred outside my presence and without my express authorization. My civil attorney, who was present and actively involved in related matters, was not brought into those discussions once. When I expressed that I wanted to address my concerns directly before the judge rather than simply accept what was being presented because. everything changed, I did not feel my position was advocated for. in fact I was yelled at while my entire life was on fire. Instead of receiving guidance and protection during a moment of extreme fear and distress, I felt pressured, unheard, and overwhelmed and expressed so. I was facing the potential loss of millions of dollars and years of work that I had built, and I needed an attorney who would fully explain my options, and aggressively protect my interests. No attorney can guarantee a perfect result. That is not my criticism. My criticism is that a client should never leave a critical proceeding feeling they did not understand the consequences of what they were agreeing to or that their own concerns were dismissed. He was fired shortly after I should have ran not walked away from this horrific attorney. The consequences of those decisions have been enormous. I continue to document what I believe exceeds seven figures in financial and business-related damages connected to this period of litigation. The professional, financial, and personal impact has been profound, and years later I am still uncovering and working to repair the damage and my case is not done due to this very event. Based on my experience, I would never retain Jonathan Marks again. If you are considering hiring him, I strongly encourage you to ask difficult questions, demand complete transparency, ensure all significant decisions are thoroughly explained, and make sure your own voice remains central in every major decision affecting your future. He only care about billing you and threatening you if you question his attitude.
