This school was responsible for turning my daughter into a highly successful business executive at a multibillion dollar fund to fund firm, in Boston. I hate This school. This school sucks so much. First of all the staff is horrible if you want something done for your child don't come here. My child countlessly went to the office to complain and all the did was say sorry. She's still waiting for actions to happen and I have a feeling we will be waiting for a while. Pathetic excuse for a high school, from uncaring staff to a useless principal. Unorganized to say the least! If you care about your kids education and want them to succeed don't bring them here! My kid is in all honor classes, straight A student Gets a C in Spanish in 9th grade her only none A grade. And these clowns don't mention her honors at graduation?! Don't get me started on their varsity unfair practices with the same lame team... what a joke and you have the nerve to charge to see the school get plundered at games (by the way the only school that charges) your teams suck and your coaches have zero experience. Is there anything this school is good at anything other then a heroin epidemic? This principal should be banned not just fired!!!!! Went to school here & it's a disappointment. The worst teachers get treated the best by staff & the best teachers never get recognition, it's sad. I had Mrs. Douzart for Art & she was truly amazing! The staff treated her so weird, I could see it with my own eyes. She only stayed for a year, i'm not surprised if I was a black woman in a white school I'd Leave too. White people here are so privileged & people of color are seen as criminals. Mrs. Simpson is a great teacher too though! Other than that this school is a joke read more

Just wait until you kids are turning fifty-something, then you can wax regretful on lost chances and the years which accompany them. Right now, learn everything you can, grab every opportunity you can. When the days are getting short, missed opportunities are the biggest regret of all. As to the schools review? Some of the administrators were a bit unfriendly towards African American kids . There is a chemistry teacher who rants to the students and has tantrums when a student isn't doing what she wants. Mrs Kinsley was great and The Principal Mr Cox is great read more

The school is constructed merely to give the illusion they care about the kids that goto their school, most teachers don't reach out or help in any sort of way other than hounding to get work done even on a small break, the yard duties are just bored, aggressive, and unreasonable. They treat the place like it's a actual prison and guard the bathrooms, don't even get me started on the bathrooms, with total monitoring 24/7 and majority of the bathrooms shut down you can clearly see the flaws of the school. There are a few good teachers at Simi High and for those I really hope they switch to any other school. Overall the school is complete garbage and sending ur child to this school should be a formal declaration saying u don't care about your child. 0/10 I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

What can I say, my old high school. Definitely not 5 stars and not 1 star, but what choice did I have back then? Better than Royal HS, right? :) High school..ahh. A time of self-identity turmoil, angst, and mental&social confusion. Well, at least it was for me. Carried my backpack slung over one shoulder. Dont ever do both shoulders or else youre a geek. Dont go over to that section of the lunch patio cuz that's where the most popular hang out. Heshers hang out over underneath the big tree..stuff like that. It was simpler back then.. Rumors were only fleetingly passed on by mouths of 'valley girls' and whomever. Peer image, victories, and follies were confined to within ten miles of community, and had a shelf-life of room temp milk compared to those that are sprung out from within this Facebook/iPhone age. I cannot imagine how kids can have a less hard of a time today. I'm sure there's a more vibrant market for therapists than ever before. -- It has been 20+ years since high school. And today I still go through self identity turmoil, angst, and mental&social confusion. But surely Im a bit wiser so I can deal with it better, of course, lol. When I visited my parents the other week, I had to go pick something up for them, and I happened to drive by the school and noticed it eerily looked all the same, except for the jail-like fence around the campus. Such powerful and crisp images and memories popped up. Like as if they just happened, not 20 years ago. I chuckle at myself remembering the issues I had back then, and how they dont compare at all to what I deal with now. My feelings towards high school are ambivalent. Where do I begin? I suppose I should start with the current principal and my principal for the four years I spent here: Mr. P. Known for grilling hot dogs--affectionately known as P-Dogs--during school events, Mr. P was a pretty cool guy as far as principals go. During lunch, he'd walk around, talk to you, and be in generally good spirits. I don't think I've ever seen him angry. The academics here were fairly good. I took a lot of AP classes, and there was definitely a distinct AP community that came out of taking the same classes with the same people for four years. Some teachers were fantastic; I loved my AP Chem, AP Calc B/C, and AP English (both years) teachers. Others, however, were incredibly subpar. I won't name names. Social life at Simi High was whatevs. A teacher one mentioned a self-segregation happening at lunch, and it's true. Latinos hang out at the B Quad, band kids in the center quad, etc. I hung out at the "Baller Tree" although I was never a baller. Homecoming dances were as good as they can be when the venue is your MPR/Cafeteria. Never went to Winter Formal, but I heard one year we messed up the Reagan Library. Prom was good; our ASB picked a great venue near USC. Good job! For current and incoming students, try to get a free sixth period at the end of your senior year. Try to get it during your last semester of your senior year. You'll be glad you did. June 2010 finally rolled around, and I graduated. I cleaned out my locker and said goodbye. It was good times at Simi Valley High for sure. There was no other school in town I would rather be. I mean, was I supposed to go to Royal? Please. Santa Su? Don't even joke. The football team still sucks, though. Nothing anyone can do about that, but people still go anyway. Oh, Pioneers. read more

Took 45 minutes to get into the football game! Totally unorganized. Got in by the second quarter and they still charged full price! What a joke! Hundreds of people annoyed! Elderly grandparents standing forever to get in!!! Not like it's their first football game! Where was admin?? Someone needed to take control. read more
