Beautiful restaurant
Yanitza R.

Amazing food. I wish that the tostones rellenos had more it was on my two of them which was a bit disappointing. The service I have to say is the most amazing service ever. The ambiance was amazing the restaurant is so clean and esthetically pleasing. Such a beautiful restaurant. The sushi was so fresh and beautiful. I share some pics below I hope that you enjoy them. The drinks also top of the line.

Coquetta roll

We went here for lunch. The service was great. Our waiter had many recommendations. All the appetizers were so yummy. We ended up sharing a main dish. The fusion between Spanish and Asian cuisine worked really well. We had the Ceviche tacos, Bang Bang shrimp, tiraderos and baked goat cheese- all spectacular! Shared the prime rib and a mixed protein fried rice. These two por were perfect to share. For drinks ... I had a Spicy Lover and the rest of the girls ordered Expresso Martinis. All drinks were really good. If you like fruity with a "kick" - the Spicy Lover is for you. Place is super cute for photos and for large groups.

A great experience overall very nice on the inside quick and attentive service with delicious cocktails Drinks we had a mule and a passion fruit cocktail with a nice little spice to it! The sushi roles tasted very nice as well no complaints here!

Came to check out Sim after a friend recommended it. We had a reservation but it was really needed; we were seated immediately. The restaurant has a very cool vibe. I started with a smoky lychee drink that had mezcal. It was pretty strong and tasted great! We ordered tuna tacos that were amazing. The mango chicken and friend rice were also wonderful. Our server recommended the Sim roll and I am so glad she did. The flavor was great with a little spicy mayo on the side. We had a great experience here and hope to come back again soon and try different items on the menu.

Sim Sushi & Tapas a gem located smack dab in the heart of South Miami. The restaurant is actually located right off of US1. Just make a slight left at the light and boom it's there! Now I will say finding parking on the weekends is a bit of a hassle. But not a feat I'm not willing to tackle again especially because the location is pretty nice. You find a bunch of restaurants/stores/lounges all nestled into one convenient spot. And somehow it's never too overstimulating. Anywho the restaurant was pretty cute! I definitely recommend sitting outdoors (in the evening because you guys know how Miami weather gets). It was super cute; there were lights, places to snap pictures, and they even had fans to keep customers cool. Ambiance is definitely there! Onto the food. Now I cannot for the life of me remember what one of the dishes was named (pictured), but it was fire! Light and flavorful and paired perfectly with a glass of Prosecco. Next time I'm dedicated to trying their drink menu (a little more expensive than your typical cocktails) because I'm honestly such a sucker for a handcrafted cocktail. My dish (not pictured) was alright. I had the orange chicken and fried rice. The portion size was pretty good. I liked the way the orange chicken was battered and it was pretty flavorful so no complaints there. But the fried rice was only okay to me. I think it could've been maybe a little more flavorful. It was also not hot. The dish definitely wasn't cold either, definitely edible, but not as hot as freshly made dishes typically are in a restaurant. Now the service was okay. It was a bit slow. Little bit of a language barrier there ,but our server was so kind and the restaurant staff worked so collaboratively on helping us that it really wasn't a problem. Also heads up but a lot of restaurants in that area charge an auto service/gratuity fee. All in all I'm definitely returning maybe during happy hour because it is a little pricey, but I would definitely recommend this spot!

I've had this place saved in my places to try for the longest! --I was shopping in the area and had to stop in. I came around lunch time on a rainy Saturday. I was greeted by quite possibly the nicest hostess ever! I told her this place was so cute and it was my first time. Btw she made it a point to stop by my table and ask how I was enjoying my food. I'm in my espresso martini era, so I had to order one. Forgive me but it was more espresso-y Vs. Martini-y. Ya get it? Not terrible, but not my favorite. I ordered the tiger roll & summer roll. Absolute fire! FYI, there is an automatic 20% gratuity, along with Florida tax, breathing tax (kidding)...so it can be a bit pricey. My espresso martini, sushi roll and spring roll ended up being $74!

This was my first time visiting SIM in South Miami-- overall I would give a solid 4/5 stars. TLDR; food is delicious, service is excellent; however, food portions are very small. I started off with the tostones rellenos and those were incredible. The plate only comes with two, but they are savory and have a delicious flavor. We also ordered the veggie dumplings which were yummy and fresh (although I think next time I would order the ones with pork, since the veggies seemed a little watery. BUT, I think that's due to the nature of them being veggie dumplings). For my main plate, I ordered the shrimp pad Thai. This was really satisfying. However, I was disappointed to see the both my plate, and my mom's play arrived with only four pieces of shrimp. Suffice to say, if you arrive on an empty stomach, this may not fully satisfy you. I will definitely consider coming again, although for the price, I hope they can increase their portion size slightly.

I loved this place! The only thing I didn't like was that the music was super loud but that is the theme of the place considering it's also a bar. We had the sunset roll which was one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had honestly. They have cool deals, we went on a Tuesday so all tapas were $6-$10 We got the dynamite shrimp which was delicious!! We also got the chicken tacos tapa which was huge for a tapa but the only thing I didn't like about it was that it had goat cheese but other than that, it was great. We decided to try the Lomo roll which had filet mignon in it and it was alright. It was too sweet. But overall, the place is delicious and I'd definitely go back and try more things! The decor was cute too, and the bathrooms were clean and well-kept.

Chicken fried rice (they gave us the wrong order at first so here's what the chicken one looked like lol)

It's all about the ambiance at Sim Sushi & Tapas! With the eclectic decor, moody lighting, and bumpin music, you're bound to have a good time. The food was pretty good too. We got the steak fried rice, which was super fluffy and flavorful! The sunset roll was okay..very fresh ingredients, but was expecting more. Lastly, the ceviche. It was mm mmm mm! Would like to go back and try more things on the menu since the other rolls look unique!

The food was absolutely delicious, like server was so sweet and drinks were delicious. The inside was super nice, definitely a nice spot to go at night. The octopus was delicious

Shrimp "Pad Thai" that tasted nothing like pad Thai. Noodles were flavorless and had no sauce.

I first tried SIM for dinner and the rolls were fresh and service was good. I recently ordered through Ubereats and got the Coquetona roll and the Shrimp Pad Thai. The roll was tasty at first but then I got a piece of fish from on top of sushi with a long tendon that I couldn't chew and had to spit out. I switched over to the pad Thai to get over the ick from the weird piece of fish only to find that this pad Thai is nothing like a typical pad Thai. The noodles are extremely thin and have no sauce and no flavor. I took one bite and closed the box. Unfortunately today was a big L and I paid $50 for 3 bites of sushi before I just gave up. Not sure what happened today, but I hope it was a fluke. I'd be disappointed to see that this restaurant's quality has declined so much so quickly, since my first visit was only about 6 months ago. I haven't fully given up hope so I'll give them 2 stars for now.

Salmon Maracuya
Nelson R.

Some of my coworkers decided to get together after work and give this place a try. I am always skeptical about trying new sushi but this place was amazing. The Salmon Maracuya was flavorful and a welcome twist on Sashimi. The Coquetona roll was well prepared and my coworkers really enjoyed this one. The leech mule was refreshing and a great way to kickoff a Friday night after work. I also took some chicken and shrimp fried rice and a shrimp Bao Bun home and these were so tasty and delicious, they truly surpassed my expectations. The server was very polite, helpful, and made several suggestions. We were seated as soon as we arrived and had no wait time. The restaurant was well lit, clean, and overall had a great vibe. I look forward to coming back to this establishment.

Rude un attentive manager

DO NOT BE FOOLED by their Social Media pictures of their food! It is not worth your drive, money or time! Upon arrival, we saw the establishment a little empty; then again it had been raining the past 3 days like crazy so it was sort of understandable. After waiting 5-8 mins someone decided to come outside and a waiter sat us down but unfortunately he forgot to give 2 of us a menu. It took them a good 15 mins for someone to arrive to the table and when we asked for 2 extra menu's because the first two were in blank; the manager decided to give us one. WOW talk about shitty service from the beginning?!?! We waited another 10 minutes for someone to offer us something water or asked us if we wanted to order. Nothing! My friend had to stand up and search for someone. Our waitress Leidy seemed a little lost in what was going on. We ordered 4 Sushi Rolls plus Edamame and it took them almost 45 mins for Edamame's to come out!!! Seriously! For Sushi we had: * Sim Roll - DO NOT ORDER! It was a disaster of a sushi roll with no flavor whatsoever with what was on the description of the menu. Also they need to hire someone who actually knows how to roll sushi itself! * Coquetona Roll - what they brought was decent yet again wasn't really what the menu stated. They forgot the Crab Salad. * Sunset Roll - VERY VERY VERY BLAND. No flavor whatsoever and Chef needs to learn how to make a proper Leche de Tigre sauce. If you're Colombian from the coast it tasted more like our Suero Sauce which I didn't mind then again - total failure! * Coco Loco - there was no complaint. At least something came out good! All in all; I wasn't even done with one of my sushi's and I wanted to leave. Didn't bother ordering Nigiri's or Sashimi's or their Grilled Octopus after the experience we had. So we left and ended our meal next door at Craft (so much better; it wasn't sushi but the quality was 10 times better!)

I am not normally a pad thai lover however, this pad thai is made with angel hair type noodles that really soak up the delicious sauce. Included in the chicken pad Thai is also perfectly cooked tofu and delicious pork rinds. Honestly, its so good that it can satisfy a pasta craving also. Their tom kha soup is also in my opinion the best in Miami. It's not overly watery or just coconut milk like most offerings. Pla tu makes it with fresh herbs and has a little bit of heat mixed in. It's so good. The pieces of chicken and mushrooms are also tender and not overly boiled like most tom kha soups. We also go for the sushi. Their sashimi is extremely fresh and we can never turn down some fresh sliced hamachi here. Lastly, yesterday we tried the Thai Donuts. I am not normally a fan but the waitress insisted we try and boy are we glad we did. They were warm pillows that melted in our mouths and we scarfed them down.
