G3 primark is more suitable for those who cannot handle large crowds. The clothing here are incredibly inexpensive and stylish. A lot of clothes styles are similar to the styles in H&M and C&A. I definitely recommend primark to teenagers on a budget!

My favorite thrift store in Vienna! Very clean and great selection. Why pack so many sweaters when…read moreyou could pick up nice ones here? Also, they have the best used trachten (traditional clothes) in the city. My two dirndls cost about 10euro each but much more beautiful ones can be had for under 40. Lots of traditional tops, skirts, belts, hats, etc to take home as great souvenirs. I love that they have posters around the shop to show you how to put an Austrian outfit together. If you are able to find one of the Salzburg-made jackets here in your size... grab it! The tailoring is impeccable and they are sold new downtown for up to 50 times the price! Can't stop my review without mentioning they are supporting an excellent cause.

But my friend and I wandered into this Swarovski store when we were visiting Vienna a few weeks ago, because I had learned something else about the store: it has a Moët & Chandon Bar on the top floor. So we wandered into Swarovski for a couple of glasses of champagne during a day of exploring. But once I saw how beautiful the store was, I wanted to do a little souvenir shopping, too. After all - Swarovski has a long history in Austria, making it a great spot for souvenir shopping I picked up a beautiful necklace and earring set, and my friend picked a Christmas ornament. But they have everything from small trinkets (some small pieces of jewelry were well less than $100) to enormous sculpture pieces costing thousands of dollars. The customer service was among the best during our time in Vienna - very friendly and helpful. So stop by, purchase a glass of champagne, walk around their stunning store, and see if something shiny speaks to you!

Amazing inventory! Exceptional service. So much to choose from - at very reasonable prices.read more

I'm surprised there are no reviews thus far for Eric Bompard, though the store is somewhat new to…read moreVienna. I learned to love this brand on trips to Paris and made it a point to seek out their Vienna outpost. The store is fairly large - mostly downstairs from the main level. It's all cashmere - mostly sweaters with some accessories (scarves, gloves, hats) thrown in. In the context of other stores in the area and quality cashmere in general, the prices are on point. I grabbed some gloves for €55. Overall, the service is at a high level, the merchandise is very high quality and the styles are classic. Go during the sales and grab a sweater at less than half price!

Steffl department store is a luxurious store with seven floors of clothing and accessories from…read morevarious very high end brands. If you are a fashionista, this is definitely a place to check out. Even if you can't afford it (most of us can't), the window shopping is worth it. Steffl is very conveniently located on a busy shopping street leading up to St. Stephan's cathedral at Stephanplatz. The street is otherwise full of quite generic high street brands which you can find anywhere else in the world, so in my opinion this department store was the only outstanding stop worth stopping at during the day at the city center (if one has limited time for Vienna, like I did). The store is not as large as e.g. London ´s Harrods, but it still has a decent sample of the best brands out there. I especially enjoyed the variety in eveningwear and lingerie departments. I like that the staff is polite and professional and doesn't act snobbish towards you even if you are an obvious student with a backpack checking out a thousands euros Elie Saab or Marchesa gown. The seventh floor also has a lovely view of the cathedral, so after you're done fashion admiring, it´s worth checking out.

I asked the saleswoman in that section if she could change a my battery, and she said, "No. You have to go to a Jeweler for that." O.K., that's acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was when I asked her where the nearest jeweler was located... how do I get to one? I told her I am not from here (although I have lived here for about a year, but I didn't tell her that) and she looked at me, very serious, and proceeded to ask me, "Do you have a cell phone? Get on the internet and type in 'nearest jeweler'..." She was still talking, but I had begun to walk away at that point. THIS is by far the rudest, of rude interactions with customer service that I've ever had. Even on a bad day, this is NEVER an acceptable way to talk to a customer.
