I stopped by with my friend when we were in Vienna for a few days at the beginning of the month, because we were trying to visit shops and restaurants with history and character while we were in the city. The store is beautiful, and their products are really finely crafted and worth the price tags. Unfortunately, the customer service was pretty ... awkward? A store clerk followed us from room to room. It felt like we were being monitored, like she thought we were going to shoplift. I know there are some cultural differences between the US and Austria. Maybe this was her way of being helpful, being nearby in case we had questions or wanted to try something on. Unfortunately, it just made us itchy to get out of the store. We took a walk around but were in and out pretty quickly. Still, worth a stop if you're interesting in buying some traditional Austrian clothing while you're visiting Vienna.

Very conveniently located right accrss the way from St. Stephens in the Stephansplatz 8. This became my spot for Mozart Kugel (they had every variety you could think of,) magnets and hats. These are the only items I will buy during my souvenir shopping mode. For me to buy, I must be able to do 1 of these three items: - Eat it - wear it on my head - or put it on the side of my fridge They had plenty of items here that all fit this requirement. A few times I had to ask for help and the team members here were extremely cordial to this tourist. I assume that they are that kind and helpful to everyone. Unfortunately they are side by side on Kärntner Strasse. Sweet Dreams sells chocolates, Best of Vienna little statues of Empress Sissi, etc. The chocolates are great and the souvenirs, too, but it's not the best idea to have one of the same kind side by side - but well, if you want to pay twice the expenses for two shops... Oh, I forgot the third one of the same chain three houses down the street!!! Well, everything else was fine, the staff is pretty nice and competent. T-shirts with Austrian prints were also quite nice. It is better to buy your souvenirs here than at the small shops on the main streets, prices are better here.

I…read morewanted something I could make use of back in the US that didn't just take up space, and I knew I was gonna have to fork over some moolah for a nice one. We spent a decent amount of our time in Vienna shopping, and I was able to hit a few stores to find the perfect dirndl. The first two we stopped in were way above the price point I was aiming for--I'm talking upwards of €1000 for the cheapest full outfits--so we had to quickly come up with excuses to gtfo of there. Then we came upon this store, where you can expect to pay €300-700 for a full outfit, and this was more of what I was expecting. I spent over an hour in here, shopping for the perfect dress, apron, blouse, pumps, bra, and even necklace. It's serious business! Gotta find the right colors and sizes in everything--and there's definitely a specific fit you are ideally ending up with. Luckily this place has a ton of options that are great quality for a decent price. A range of colors and lots of styles. Someone at another store said they recommended I go with blue items to match my eyes, but I was already set on green (plus my eyes have some green too)! I was torn between a more expensive green outfit and the one I went with, which was about €100 cheaper. There were a few dressing rooms and luckily the other store patrons were patient and also taking these decisions very seriously, but you know who wasn't patient? The majority of the people working here. Not only were they mostly not patient, they also mostly weren't helpful. I get it, it's Oktoberfest and you have a lot of customers and you're just trying to make it through the day or whatever, but like why did you choose to work in this type of store, in this type of area, if you hate it? So hopefully these people don't work here anymore by the time you arrive to decide on one of the most iconic outfits you will ever own, but if they do, just ignore them and take your sweet-ass time. Treat yoself!

Even though they were about to close I didn't feel rushed at all. If I had more time and space in my suitcase I would have definitely checked out the shoes. She pulled a ton of gloves and scarves from the back. They had silk, cashmere and even rabbit fur lined gloves. I choose a thinner pair made from reindeer leather. I also got a light weight houndstooth scarf. Another plus is, the famous Cafe Central is right around the corner so you can drop by after you are done!

They pretty much have…read moreeverything and anything useful that you would need for your household, ranging from tourist souvenirs and cheap kitchen appliances, to small gift items and cleaning products For example, I needed some AA batteries after coming off working the night shift. I was tired, and didn't feel like getting up a few hours later when other stores would open up. The Lauf und Kauf is opened already around 0700, where most other stores in Vienna don't open up until 1000 or so. I wouldn't say the stuff there is of the highest quality, but they work and are useful, and those are the important factors to consider.
