Update on my order. I went from a 4 Star to 5 Star rating because there was not one hiccup with this experience. My order went in on a Monday and received my Silver Bars today (Friday). The quality is great, packaging was flawless, even received a plastic casing Incase I which to take out of plastic and preserve even better. I will definitely be ordering more in the very near future. Kudos to the customer service and shipping department for a great experience. Ordered my Silver Bars yesterday. Have to say they have the best prices and also orders over $99 is free shipping. Paid $1.83 over silver prices for that day ( hence they need to make money and I am sure delivery like all other places find a way to put it in the pricing) sent them a message in regards to when the order will be shipped and I received 2 emails this morning confirming product will be shipping within 5-10 days but maybe as soon as 2-3. Thought that was good customer service and also I found a $5 off coupon, but unfortunately it was for mixed coins and I ordered silver bars. Cons: I've been a customer of SilverTowne for several years and their processing/shipping time keeps getting worse. Once payment clears (2 days), it takes three weeks to receive an order! Considering the fact that the company has my money, it's a very slow turn around time. I've purchased from other dealers and my orders are always received in less than two weeks. Also, customer service isn't friendly when I've made an inquiry about this issue. Lastly, while I appreciate the solid packing, it's definitely not frustration-free to open the box. I ordered/purchased a posted item new years 2018/2019 online and was contacted 1/2/2019 to be informed there was a "glitch in their system" and was offered a corrected price that was $***.00 more . After a spirited conversation there was no offer for a compromise or any other options as a show of good faith. In other words no show of latitude or flexibility to compensate for what I viewed as a huge mistake. I declined there new offer. Yes, I was courteous and professional during our discussion via telephone. I also discovered in my past paperwork, a return I had made a few years back on a blemished graded coin, no big deal. I ordered a graduation silver bar. I paid a premium for it because it was a special bar that had the words congratulations graduate on it. The bar arrived with scratch marks on the balloons and it had some oxidation/slight black discoloration. They knew this was a graduation gift. Silver at the time was $14.31 an oz. I paid $43 for the 1 oz silver bar including the shipping and $5 engraving. I understand I paid extra due to it being a custom/graduation bar and not just a regular silver bar. However being that it was a gift and I paid a premium I'm not happy that it arrived scratched and oxidized. Next time I'll just order a silver eagle or maple leaf from Apmex or my local dealer. Oh, and when I called today no one was available to take my call which is why I'm posting a review. Six days ago when placing my order they were working from home and had no trouble taking my order. I purchased several coins from Silver Towne in the past. On my last order, they backordered a coin without letting me know, it was just listed on the packing slip. Then I waited for over two months without hearing anything from them. I had to contact them to get my backordered coin refunded. Also, they charged me additional shipping for the other coin and never refunded the addition charges. There are lots of places to buy coins/metals. I would recommend another seller. read more

I decided to try them because of the free shipping. Bought 1 silver bar to test them out. I paid with a CC and it took 15 days to receive my item. 15 days! After about 7 days I called and was told it had not shipped yet so I told the CSR to cancel the order. She said OK but there will be 10% RESTOCK charge!!! How can you charge a restock fee if the item never left inventory in the first place? I'll stick with APMEX from now on. I'd rather pay the shipping and receive my order in 3 days. On 08/03/2014 I placed an order with Silvertowme for 2 Buffalo 10oz .999 silver bars and I paid $437.00 for both bars. A week passed and Silvertowne still hasn't shipped the products that I purchased on 08/03/2014, therefore I contacted their customer service department to inquire about the delay in shipping. A lady answered my call and I provided her with my order details and shared with her my concerns pertaining to the delayed shipment, the rep was rude and unprofessional, she advised that are they are " backed up" with orders on their own silver brand which feature their name and trademark, however I made it clear to her that I did not place an order for the Silvertowne branded silver bars but instead for the buffalo silver bars, still she gave me the same answer that they are currently " backed up" and nothing can be done and that I have to wait for my order to get processed. I informed her that I would like to cancel my order and she told me that if I did so I will be charged a 20% restocking fee to cancel the order. I protested the restocking fee to no avail, and she advised that if I cancelled my order a note will be attached to my account that I canceled the order. I went ahead and told her to cancel my order regardless and that I would never conduct business with them again. This company charged almost $90 ( 20% restocking fee ) just to cancel my order which took the rep a minute of her time to input the cancelation in their system. This company is a sham and is defrauding its customers with their fraudulent restocking fee scheme. read more
