They don't have a ton of stock, for example they haven't had Smirnoff ice in at least a month (Just the plain brand). But staff is friendly and helpful. Quick checkout process. Lots of stores sell wine and liquor. I don't know much about wine, selection, etc.. but I do know that they have very helpful and knowledgeable people working there, as well as a large selection. I buy wine to give as gifts. I've been to a few other similar stores, but I like this one, and it's my new "to go to" store for wine. read more

They always have good price specials and the selection of hard liquor is good. I really like Twisted Tea and they always have a large stock. Do not go here!!! I went in looking for a Bottle of William LaRue Weller which in NJ is normally $85 , they told me it would be $300. When I talked to the man that was the manager he said, I quote " I don't have an answer." This is blatant price gouging and is completely unethical and unreasonable. I would have paid up to a $100. Also when you say you have no answer and cannot look a person in the eye it is because you are guilty, in this case of trying to hustle people out of there money because it is a "rare" item. I will definitely be reaching out to buy rite and others about this store and there owner about how they blatantly try to rip people off. read more

As I write this, weary from a nonstop day that comes from being a best man, I can honestly say that the Silverton Buy-Rite saved my brother's wedding. I live in LA but grew up in Toms River. My brother got married Memorial Day weekend in Bordentown. Under the advice of the venue, my father made the liquor order through a local seller. Fast forward to five days before the wedding, as I'm enjoying a legendary dinner at my brother's bachelor party, he gets a text that the seller can't fulfill ANY of the order! I knew we were f'd. I texted my old soccer buddy from high school Mike Mabie at Buy-Rite. I let him know my brother's guy pulled a 180 and we were five days out from a wedding that also falls on MDW. Within two minutes Mike responded and said he was going to get his GM Tom on it. The next morning, the Silverton Buy-Rite was working off an old invoice and everything but time. At first glance, the biggest challenge was matching the selected wines for the event. My brother tasted wines and picked bottles from France and Spain to match honeymoon destinations. Tom killed it. It took some extra leg work but Tom was able to match the ENTIRE wine order. He was able to get orders delivered quickly. Because the venue is almost an hour away from TR, I had to transport the entire order myself. I rolled up and the guys from Buy-Rite worked like a NASCAR pit crew - loading the truck before I knew it. The wedding went off without a hitch. Today, when I came back to Toms River I stopped at the Buy-Rite to thank the guys. Turns out the GM Tom is a friend from Washington Street School but because we were working over the phone we had no idea. I haven't seen these guys in years. I know the guys you grow up with always honor friendship, but I can honestly see that they'd do it for any customer. Buy-Rite matched the entire wedding order for over 200 guests within five days and beat the prices for every single item by a lot. No joke. Always Buy-Rite. read more

I called Buy Rite spoke to a gentleman and ask him if they had a specific item that i had a hard time finding. I told the man that it would make my fathers Christmas if he could find this specific item for a kegerator. Found the item and put it in an envelope with my name on it and read "no charge, Happy holidays." It was an amazing gesture and i pass by 4 different liquor stores just to shop at buy rite in Silverton, New Jersey. 1. Clean store. Everything is well kept and organized/stocked. No sticky floors, dirty windows, busted lights. 2. Good customer service. Employees will almost always ask you if you need help with anything. Also, they will usually do special orders if it is able to be ordered. 3. Good prices. Between Buy Rite and Spirits Stores, they are about even, which is low compared to the average for the area. 4. Overall pretty good selection, though they are limited by store size. What they miss in general selection, they make up for in customer service, special releases, and tastings and events. read more

I live down the street...have never had a problem here...kind of weak beer selection compared to spirits in brick ...regardless... I went in to buy a couple bottles of wine, and when I asked for a bottle that was about 55 bucks, the owner i guess had to tell me that "you know this is a pricey bottle don't you" ..as if I couldn't afford it or didn't know the difference between a nice bottle of wine and a bottle of barefoot. I still bought it but I left feeling a little disrespected. I'll just get my wine at the Wine Shoppe in brick...they have a better selection anyway. read more

I just had by far the most horrendous experience at this place ever. I went into the liquor store with my cousin to buy wine for my aunt and a few drinks for myself. The woman wouldn't ring me up because my cousin forgot her ID mind you I am the one buying the alcohol and I am 23 years old. I explained to her that I live in NY and I'm not familiar with the area at all and that this is where my aunt goes and it's SNOWING OUT. So of course I am extremely upset. She grabbed her manager who did not make the situation better and belittled me as if I wasn't a paying customer. I was told to take my business elsewhere for the next 24 hours. After exchange a few unkind words I left the store. My aunt who is was sitting the car the entire time had to go out and buy the wine and drinks herself. As my aunt walked up to the counter the employee and the manager were still discussing the event. They then continued to exchange words with my aunt after she told them they are making a mountain out of a mo-hill. They had the absolute audacity to tell my aunt to speak with me like I am a child. After asking for the manager to write down her name and then refused my aunt asked once again to write it down she then screamed from her office door to the counter it's Becky. I also would like to mention that another customer that was in the store at the time of the incident came out and told my cousin and myself to go elsewhere that the way we were just treated was totally disgraceful. It is definitely safe to say that my family and our friends will no longer take our business there. The only reason my aunt bought there after the incident was because like I said it was SNOWING out and it's ridiculous to have someone who doesn't live here drive all around the neighborhood to find another liquor store. read more
