They sent out a representatives to look at my leak and the first thing he said was thar my roof is 10 years old like that matters because the last time we had an ice storm was when they installed my roof. Google it but the ice shield should last as long as the roof. Last, the ice shield was extra when I purchased the costly engineered shingles. True 30 year shingles if installed properly. Not sure if this is a company you can truly trust or rely on. I am sure they have an excuse for every issue you experience after the fact. Good luck....

She counseled him on what information the insurance company would need and how to proceed further. Darcy was an angel. She took the worry and angst out of the process. When the day came for the roof replacement, it went off without a hitch. I was asked to be a go-between as the rest of the family were in school and working. The crew showed up bright and early. David, the crew lead man, had those guys moving. It was a well orchestrated operation. I heard them pounding away for a few hours, and then before I knew it, they were done. The pounding had stopped, and I heard them dragging the nail magnet. I walked out of the house and said to myself, "Whoa dude, they're done!" I had expected it to be a lot longer. Their clean-up was immaculate. You wouldn't have known that anyone had been there. This is a top-notch, well run operation. You shouldn't have any reservations on having them put a lid on your house. Now all we need is a good hearty rain to test their work. Quick Tip: With all the pounding and noise going on, you may want to give your pets a chill pill to keep them from going nuts. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's honestly been a nightmare. We hired Kagan to do a large concrete slab and a retaining wall in our backyard and not only were they late or no-shows almost every single day, once they got their first installment of payment, but it is actually done completely wrong (wall isn't straight, a large dip in the slab causing water to pool by our foundation, and also no joints in the slab which we've since found out is necessary and will cause cracking if not fixed). then when we expressed discontent, they made promises to refund a portion of the cost and then changed their mind and that they'd rather try to fix it. at this point we didn't really trust them but they told us exactly how they'd fix it, and then all they did was smear some more concrete (and leaves!) on it (i've included pictures). they said they were licensed and insured, and I now know to check that and not trust someone at their word. once we escalated the conversation after they said they "fixed it" and expressed that this is enough of a problem for us to have to go through legal channels, he basically said sue me. so, after spending time getting quotes from other companies on what it's going to take to fix it, we are now in the process of speaking to an attorney to sue for what it's going to take. we have every communication back and forth saved and based on that information and the pictures, our attorney says we have a good case. I'm honestly bummed that it's come to this, and I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I am so supremely disappointed in the lack of integrity this company shows and am not willing or able to pay for their very expensive mistake that will only cause more damage to my home as time goes on. They should certainly not be doing large concrete jobs, and even if they did learn to do it right eventually, I could never recommend someone with so little integrity. I will update this comment if/when there is a resolution and if they made it right.

Fitz Roofing put way too many nails in my Headwall flashing. When I asked Kory about it he was…read moredefensive and rude. He wouldn't let me finish a sentence. He mocked me. He belittled me and the situation. He was condescending. At one point he even accused me of lying. He threatened me and hung up on me. He never offered a reason for why my flashing had so many nails just said that I was controlling and that's how my neighbor's house is. Some spots had 2-3 nails right next to each other. They installed a Certainteed roofing system on my house. I contacted Certainteed and received the flashing manual it says a nail every 12". Some roofers I have spoken with said 2 to 3 feet between nails. I was never given the option of replacing the flashing that obviously needed replacing. If you have had a similar situation, please post here. I don't want anyone else to feel the way Kory made me feel. Other things I overlooked during the job. They changed my initial install date without asking or notifying me. They replaced a section of facial board without sealing it or painting the exposed back side. Please review the photos and make your own decision. If I ever replace my roof again, I will make sure that every piece of flashing gets replaced and any if at exposed nails will be at a minimum. The part that bothered me the most is the way Kory treated me.

He communicated with me often from start to completion with all parts of the process and was responsive to my questions. His crew worked hard and were respectful of my plants, outdoor furniture, etc. There were two large pieces of the black roofing paper that had gotten stuck in one of my trees about 25 feet up and, Ron came by, a couple weeks afterward, with a very long 2x4to bring these down, himself! I highly recommend Ron and his company for any roofing needs.
