A very good fast food restaurant. The food was decently priced and was very filling unlike most other fast food restaurants. Loved the fact that they had local beef that was thick and juicy!! The service was fairly decent. They did forget one of my bugers and fries with my order, but did not hesitate to make it right when I went inside and told them about it. I'm surprised at some of the complaints I've seen because I've never had cold food from this place. I've also never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. The burgers are delicious, cheesy, and juicy. But more often than not, I go for the fried chicken tenders. I may have to wait a little longer, but it is worth it. "Silver Star" is basically "Back Yard Burgers" without the logo and some added military veteran decor. This location used to be a BYB, so it looks like a new business just assumed the existing model and changed the name. Which is fine, I always liked BYB and most of them have closed in recent years. I used to eat at BYB a lot in my younger days and this was a good reminder of what that food is/was. The burgers are pretty good, actually thick, and have a bit of real "grilled" flavor to them and some fresh toppings. You can even get a burger here that uses locally sourced meat which is cool. The waffle fries are good. The wraps, according to my dining companion, lean heavily on the sauce. I remember really enjoying BYB's potato soup and this place still has that on the menu so if I'm ever back I'll give that a try. The service was friendly and the prices were super fair. Only complaints, really, are that all of our food could have been a bit warmer, the lobby could use a good cleaning (particularly the dead flies and debris around the windows), and it's uncomfortably quiet in here if you dine in with no music or background noise of any kind, so any conversation you have will echo to every other table in the room and vice-versa. read more

My wife and both had bacon cheeseburgers, with her getting crinkled roe's and me getting the waffle fries. The fries were wonderful. The waffle fries were had seasoned salt, and the crinkle fries were simply salted. The frying oil was fresh. Not all places are diligent with that. The burgers looked like burgers look in ads. They were thick, and not squashed down or greasy. The veggies were fresh. Nothing tasted like it came from a commissary. The men's room soap dispenser didn't work, and my wife thought the bun could have been toasted a hair more, but she agreed with me the place still deserves five stars. read more

Picked this restaurant off Yelp, another shot in the dark, and wow was it a great choice! It's always a good sign when the parking lot is full, the line moved quick, had the "local" burger with Swiss and the crinkle cut fries combo. Jazzed it up a little with a chocolate hand made milk shake ($2.30!) and an apple cobbler for desert! I think I need a nap!! The beef was local and fresh, cooked perfect, the cobbler was to die for and the milk shake capped it all off nicely. Hate to go back to work, but if you're looking for a great little spot, look no further! read more

I had never been to or heard of Silver Star, so when the group decided on it for lunch I was game but didn't know what to expect. Imagine Zaxby's meets wendy's meets DQ but SO much better and much more affordable. I ordered a grilled chicken club salad, for $6 I got a HUGE salad that was piled high with bacon, chicken, cheese, tomatoes, and came with blue cheese. It was very good and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I look forward to going back and trying more of their menu. read more

This restaurants has the looks of an old Druthers establishment. The food is a great fast food restaurants. The waffle seasoned fries are amazing. And the burgers.....some of the best on the market. They have a fantastic choice of types of burgers and the staff is always friendly. I recommend a bite from here for sure!!! read more

Great service very reasonably priced I tried the local burger absolutely delicious would recommend this place to everyone

This is usually a good place to get burgers but tonight they fell short of their norm. We ordered bacon cheddar burgers for take out. One of them had only mustard and ketchup. The other had mustard, ketchup, and mayo. Neither had pickles and both only had a single strand of onion. Needless to say the flavor wasn't as good as expected. Going to have to rethink eating here. read more
