The owner Mike is the man. This place is by far fastest service and best prices. I don't go anywhere else.

In April, I took my…read more20-year old red patent leather pumps to get new soles because the old ones were crumbling off. I chose to go here because of the good cobbler reviews and the location was convenient. I picked them up 5 days later and when I got home saw that significant damage had been done to the uppers of my shoes and the soles that had been applied were already coming off and were smeared onto the bottom of the shoe. Even the heel caps were unsecured. The damage to my shoes had been covered in red shoe polish, which came off when I touched it. I was devastated. These shoes were a gift from my husband early in our relationship and are my favorite. They are not replaceable and have high sentimental value. I called the store and they did acknowledge that they knew something had happened to the shoes, but didn't tell me. They gave me the cobbler's information and I left him a message. When we talked on the phone he said he had sanded the upper because it had gotten some of the old sole on it and then covered it up with the polish. He said he could make it right. I went back to the store and talked to the cobbler in person. At this point, I didn't have a lot of trust in his judgment given that he didn't fix the original damage when it happened and didn't tell me what had happened. After a bit of back and forth, I asked for a refund. He said the owner would cut me a check. I also asked for compensation for fixing and/or replacing my shoes, but he insisted he could fix it. Given the lack of judgment and lack of honesty and accountability, I refused. I had to follow up with The Cleaners twice about the refund check only to find out that they had directly credited my original form of payment, but no one communicated with me about any of it. I ended up taking the damaged shoes to Dardano's in the hopes that they could repair the damage and they were amazing. I should have gone there in the first place (they were appalled at what had happened to my shoes). I cannot recommend Frank the cobbler here at The Cleaners and suggest extreme caution depending on what you need.

This location features a Drive Thru, which is nice, but on this occasion I chose to walk in. I was surprised to discover what a large facility it truly was as, from the outside it appears small. After serving a Drive Thru customer, I was greeted by a pleasant woman with whom I inquired if I might leave off an item for cleaning. The item in question is a small (10" x10") woven nylon zippered Towne Shoulder Bag. The little bag is pretty much a constant companion of mine for darting around as it is perfect for containing modest essentials securely and discreetly without being the least bit cumbersome. The bag slings over the shoulder and is suspended just below the waistline by a 1"3/4" woven nylon strap. As stated, this accessory is a constant companion of mine, and in so saying has become slightly soiled with life's day to day muck, thus prompting my quest to have it cleaned. This bag is from a well respected higher end manufacturer and represents every bit of purposeful design and functionality expected when choosing to "invest" in a higher priced item. I have owned it approximately four years, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and my satisfaction remains extremely high as the proud owner of this item. Back to my unfortunate experience with Dependable Cleaners... The company's representative, the woman at the counter tells me that "yes" they would clean my bag, and quotes me a price of $10.56 for the service. At this point things couldn't have been better, and I was already digging for my credit card... But wait: Being the ever cautious Capricorn that I am, I asked once again if she was sure that they could clean my bag nicely, at this point she said, " let me double check with my Manager..." I then handed over my bag and she disappeared in to the back of the store. After 2-3 minutes she returned and said that yes they could clean my bag however she was sorry, as the quoted price was incorrect and that her Manager told her the actual cost of the service was going to be One Hundred dollars. Huh...? I stood there, my mouth agape, as I snatched my little precious bag out of the woman's hands and stammered, "but, but, but...it's just a nylon bag with a cotton fabric interior and vinyl trim..." She rolled her eyes as if to concur...now please understand that at that moment I was not miffed with this employee as she had done her job and only went to the Manager at my further clarification inquiry, No... it was this Manager, whom I never actually saw, that had engaged my ire. What the very Cold Day in Hell kind of nonsense had this become?? How does a quote, and one achieved by means of the company computer, now look like home prices in the 1970's in comparison, now expanding to a grossly inflated number? Was this Manager price gouging based on the fact that I had purchased a higher end product? Was it because I present a tight sportier upscale image? Or, as I finally responded to this news, "is your Manager smoking Crack in the back, because this most certainly is a whole lotta Wack". Then I continued to spew and cluck a series of comments, mostly under my breath but not in any way aimed at the store worker as I thanked her and declined to participate any further...stating I had no intention on fortifying the Management's drug habit...yadda yadda...and out I went. Again, huh? Still I remain confused about this episode but not confused with my decision to not patronize this Dependable Cleaners. $100.00 - Nope.
