So many cobwebs and bugs when they could simply take a broom to it. The pit toilet near our site was disgusting. Urine all over the seat, stains all over the floor and walls like they haven't cleaned in years. The actual campsites are well maintained which is the only reason for 2 stars instead of one. The water was so gross. In fact, some locals let us know that the water is swim at your own risk because of an infestation of bacteria that causes stomach flu like issues. No one manning the entry kiosk. Loud neighbors with no one patrolling. On top of that, there are a crazy amount of flies! The lady at the marina was very nice and helpful, but unfortunately we likely won't be back.

From our late night arrival to pick up key for cabin ready for us in mailbox to the fire out grill and amenities it was great. Bathrooms super clean and well appointed and the room was clean with ac and heater. Beautiful area in a small town with exceptional restaurants and a cafe and sites to hike around crown and explore. The staff her at Strasburg KOA were super friendly and helpful. Their office had a small pizza and gelato cafe as well as necessary items you might need for purchase. Plan on returning here for a few days soon.

Overall KOAs are a good place to stay but it definitely depends on location. For example Moab and Astoria. I can't say enough good things about those locations. Unfortunately strasburg will be one I tell people to avoid. Also it's about 35-40 mins outside of Denver so going into the city is a bit of a mission.

Leaving Fort Collins, head West on hwy 14... past the little community of Poudre Canyon... past…read moreMishawaka... past so many other campgrounds that you finally start to wonder if you'll end up in Laramie, WY... ...and then FINALLY you'll hit Kelly Flats. Don't worry, it's worth it. Kelly Flats Campground is located 35 miles west of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon. Of the 29 available sites, most are either right on the river or a mere few steps away. It's low enough to wade and tube in the late-fall, but it is COLD. Bring your fishing pole... you might just catch yourself a delicious trout! The campground host keeps the bathrooms IMMACULATE, which is a huge bonus. No spiders! Most of the bathrooms are wheelchair ready. Almost all the sites are car/RV/trailer accessible, but there are six that are walk-in tent-only. Not surprisingly, these six boast the best spots on the river. They're also a bit more secluded. Even so, the other sites are spaced well enough apart so the slightly rowdy won't step on the toes of the family campers (or vice versa!). It's a great set-up. Dogs are welcome, but need to be tied up at your campground. They're free to frolic down by the river, though! Site 10 (walk-in) has a cool little "swimming pool" of river rocks built up... and it's probably really nice during the early summer months when the river's a bit higher. All sites have picnic tables and fire grates. You can buy wood from the camp host for $7 a bundle, but I recommend getting it at the Conoco in town for half the price. There isn't much to gather at the campground. One thing to note: there are TONS of yellowjackets. I don't know if it's because we camped late in the season, but those buggers were aggressive and mean. And EVERYWHERE. You'd be smart to pack one or two of those yellow wasp traps. As camping goes, Kelly Flats is far enough out there to be really gorgeous and secluded, but developed enough to feel safe and fun for even the littlest campers. We took our one-year-old and he had a blast! We'll be back next summer for sure...!

The service was great but the RV park has no frills except the pad was level and the water, sewer and electricity looked new and updated. The lot is gravel which is probably a good thing as according to what I have read of other locations there are many goat head thorns which they had there but under control. Not sure if they are an inherent problem in this locale but having a dog made it a concern. Great area to walk my dog around the neighbors and the shopping is super close. Also, a golf Course is walking distance. Clean and nice and staff are awesome.
