My group of friends and I were looking through the ring selection out front of the store. One of the people in our group was trying on two rings to see how the rings would look with her ring that she already owned. While we were looking at her hands one of the employees who I can assume may be a manager or one of the owners ran out and began loudly accusing my friend of stealing the rings. She was obviously confused by this and began protesting that she did not steal and immediately gave the rings back, to which the man responded by making her turn out her pockets. She turned them out and there was nothing but he still insisted that he watched her put them in her pockets. He told her (a minor btw) that she was going to go to jail and when we tried to back her up he said that we were horrible people for choosing to hang out with a "thief". I was genuinely planning on walking inside to buy a bracelet, but he told us all to move along and told us if we came back he was calling the cops. It was definitely the wrong battle to fight on his part, and was causing a scene publicly embarrassing a group of children. I completely understand that they most likely have had incidents before involving stealing, but the vulgarity of his words and the utter unprofessionalism was shocking and unacceptable. I have also heard of other incidents occurring involving this man accusing random window shoppers of stealing. I've been coming to this jewelry store for the past 7-8 years. Unfortunately will now not be returning due to the unpleasant shopping experience and the invalid accusations. read more

I absolutely love silver, and it's almost all I wear (over gold) since probably my early 20's. This place makes my motor run! Sterling silver galore, steel, and even some costume jewelry. I was in the market for a silver chain for my son for his crucifix. He wanted a longer chain that could just fit over his head without taking it off. Within five minutes in 'Silver Secret,' I found the perfect one. A 24" sterling silver rope chain. Nice and sturdy, and with a good solid clasp. I think the male who waited on me was the owner. I would not recommend this store I was immediately greeted by a lady and I told her I was just looking around and she just asked me and my gf to leave when we haven't even done anything. I simply said no thanks I'm just looking around for now, she then changed her tone and whipped the smile off her face and told me to get out of her store if I'm not going to buy anything "because I'm wasting her time" and kept telling me leave. To own a business and to tell your customers to get out of the store and stop wasting your time is extremely rude and from coming from a different state to visit, I am completely shocked. read more

I bought my 14-year-old daughter several pieces of fake jewelry there one of them broke the other one left stains on her body which proves he selling fake jewelry. I went back with all my receipts. Told me to get out of his store in front of my children he was very violent and aggressive. My all time favorite shop on the boardwalk. The shop owner, who has been here 18 YEARS always remembers me each summer when we visit. His shop is always clean, and smells amazing, he is attentive to the customers and helps you look for whatever you have in mind. Not to mention- the selection is HUGE full of quality items, anyone could find something they love here. He can size the rings, and cleans each piece of jewelry for you before wrapping it up. A very honest seller too, when buying many items he doesn't mind bending the price a little. I will definitely visit his new location once he gets that up and running!! I'm got my ears pierced and it has been an absolute nightmare. I decided to get my third whole pierced and my right ear is completely infected. I have never experienced such pain and discomfort from receiving an ear piercing especially one on the lobe. My ear is crusted from the bottom to the top and I can't even sleep on it at night. When I decide to get my ears pierced I went to the store asked to get it done and the man working did it with no questions asked. I'm 16 years old and I had to sign no paperwork and then I'll have to have a parent with me for this to be done. Prior to the piercing the man working gave me antiseptic and a cotton ball and made me clean my own ears. That was very questionable and extremely unprofessional, I wish I would've backed out right then and there. Do not get your ears pierced here you will regret it. I wake up with crust and ooze in my hair and on my neck. I continuously clean it but nothing has helped, I will be seeking medical assistance. read more

However, the customer service at this business is what brought me to yelp. The owner and his wife were very helpful throughout the entire process and probably was not easy. Wow I don't even know where to start but will try to get right to the point.... this store scams CHILDREN out of money when their parents aren't with them. They look for teens that they suspect have cash on them, lure them in, then pressure them to buy CHEAP crappy rings for a ridiculous sum of money. When asked why they wouldn't just ask the child to come back with their parent for purchases over $10 or even $20, the response from the manger was "I'm tired of you parents... you shouldn't send your child to the boardwalk with money if you don't want them to spend it"... really?!? Yes because I should assume that some shady store manager with low ethics and morals will pressure sell to SCAM A CHILD out of $28 for a crappy $5 ring that was bent before she even got home. Really?!? It gets better because then the manager proceeded to pretend that he didn't have the ring that I brought back to the store and also wouldn't give me my money back... playing some sort of weird game or something.
