Located inside a small suite in Clarksville Indiana in an unassuming strip mall at the corner of Lewis and Clark Parkway and Eastern Blvd, Silver Needle can easily be missed if you drive faster than the speed limit.
I've been to several alteration places in the Kentuckiana area and Silver Needle ranks just as high as those others for the services I received. I took a couple pairs of jeans to get hemmed recently and for fifteen dollars a piece (there was a six dollar option if I didn't want the original hem showing), the work was complete and ready for pickup a day and a half later. I had called another popular place in the area and that other place wanted to charge me a rush fee for a turnaround that fast.
I picked up my jeans from Silver Needle, tried them on, and was happy with the work. My jeans which were initially too long ( 5'8 guys and shorter; I feel ya because they always are), now fit exactly how I wanted them to for summer jeans. Which means that instead of now looking like I was borrowing my older brother's jeans with excessive jean stacking, it now looked like I had outgrown my jeans through a growth spurt because of the ankle slightly showing. But that was intentional and requested by me because I wanted no break in my jean length for summer wear. And though it took me a while to get on board with the ankle length jeans concept, I finally get the fashion intention. It's summer and though shorts are king for the season, there are times when you want to be a bit more snazzy while still looking summerish. Plus apparently showing just a little bit of skin, even the ankle, shows off a teasing side and is sexy. I know I know. I didn't believe it at first either but this look is more attractive than having your jeans bunch up at the bottom. Plus don't you want to show off those nice shoes? But this is only for usmmerwear. I don't mind some jean stacking in the fall because BOOTS!
So look around at the room right now and check to see if jeans are too long and would look better if they were hemmed. Or maybe it's you. Maybe they're too baggy and you need them altered in that way. I would trust Silver Needle with getting them altered to be less baggy and hemmed. Plus the place isn't as popular as other businesses in the Kentuckiana area YET, so the turnaround is fast! I received friendly service, quick turnaround, and great work so I'm a satisfied customer. With fall and winter coming, I do plan on taking something else in besides hemming and if all goes well, this review may get upgraded to a 5 star!
