Ms. Kim is efficient with such a fun personality. We dropped off 4 items. Two hems one for a prom dress and one for wide legged dressy pants, a shirt that I wanted that needed altered and a new zipper on a dress. It was ready in less than a week later. Considering that it's prom season we were amazed how quickly it was ready. Her shop was bustling with business, always a line out of the door. Everything looked and fit great. She does a great job on her work just make sure you check your clothes. She sewed in my pockets on my dress without notifying me of this change. I paid extra for my pockets on the dress only to have them sewed in. This was a once in a lifetime event and she said there was nothing she could do. I asked how about the extra 30 I paid for the pockets back since she closed them in she said sorry I can't do that. I was very upset. read more

I only needed 2 pickets sewn up and a button and small tear sewn on 2 pair of shorts. Easy, right? Apparently not. I got 1 pocket sewn up, and the tear down, leaving a giant hole in one picket and no new button. To add insult to injury, she charged $20 cash, no receipt of course so there's no paper trail for the IRS, and was impolite both when I dropped them off and picked them up, which took her a week. I'd call it a failure all the way around. Go somewhere else with standards, business sense, standards and manners. read more

Charged $85.00 to make two jackets -and a dress smaller. The seams were a mess and instead of just seeming up the sleeves, glue was used and a section cut out of the back of one of the Jackets. The seams were a mess and the seams were not lined up. The dress sleeves under the arms were puckered. The seams down the sides had -the pockets sewn together. I had to rip this all out and take to another seamstress to redo all the items. I don't know what has happened to this place, they used to be good! read more

I have a Perfect Dress (TM). It is super cute. It has POCKETS. It fit perfectly. Or...at least it did when I first got it. But regular wear and a little bit of weight loss made the bust area a bit too accommodating for what my body has to offer. After bemoaning my situation with some friends, Kim's Alterations was quickly recommended as a place to have this situation remedied. I stopped in on a Saturday morning with high hopes! It is quite an interesting operation....there were a lot of things hanging on a large looping rack, so it appears she may be quite popular! Another man walked in just before me and was trying to politely get someone's attention to come to the front of the shop, as she was somewhere in back. There was a gentleman asleep on a couch in front of a tv in a small alcove to the left of the main business area. And a small dog in a tiny sweater walking around. She came out eventually and took care of the gentleman who came in before me. Then came my turn. I told her why I was there, and she directed me to a room with a curtain in which to change into my dress to show her what was up. She saw it herself, and with a lil' tool gun of some kind, pulled and marked where the shoulders/straps needed to be shortened. She told me I could wait for it or come back, and it would cost $21 (honestly, about the same amount I paid for the dress to begin with...but I reiterate Perfect Dress TM). I figured why not wait, right? So in under 10 minutes, she performed the alteration, I paid, and was on my way again. The dress now fits without extra gaping or sagging and has become an even more Perfect Dress (TM). read more

I walked in on a Friday, requested alterations for a pair of pleather pants (which is scary because of how difficult those apparently can be to tailor) and she listened to me and had them ready by the following Tuesday.
