I unexpectedly had a difficult time finding a florist that was open late on a Saturday morning…read more While calling around in a rush to get an arrangement made last minute, I found this unreviewed shop on Yelp and gave them a call. I'm glad I did. The arrangement I was looking for was very basic, but still needed to be put together. When I called, the lady said they could make it. I was passing through Montgomery while leaving town and she originally said she needed 45 minutes. Rather than delaying my trip longer, I originally decided to disregard. She thought about it and said she'd have it done in 20 minutes. I stopped at the shop at the agreed upon time and staff were just finishing the arrangement. I could tell they were hustling and working hard to get it done for me. The arrangement looked fantastic. They were very high quality and put together professionally. The price was very fair, especially considering they rushed to get it done. The staff here really impressed me. The shop is located at the end of Route 211 just in from 17K. Parking on the street is difficult to find, but they have parking around the rear of the building.

Below is the pic of what I thought we would be receiving (I purchased the standard of this version -- which you would think would have a similar artistic touch/style but smaller or fewer flowers) below is what was received. Yikes ... ($81) When I called to let them know that the arrangement was not at all what was advertised, Kim became super defensive and not in a professional way. Her proposed solution was to "have someone pick up the arrangement for a full refund or pick up the arrangement and add more flowers to it" I said it would be embarrassing and awkward to retrieve flowers from someone who is in recovery... (from my aunt's perspective, her niece made a thoughtful gesture -- to have someone show up and take the flowers back or add some flowers only makes what was originally perceived as a nice gesture, awkward -- which an unnecessary thing to put my sick aunt through). Kim responded that SHE wouldn't be embarrassed (right, because it was ALL about her) and called me "too uptight". Anyhow, she continued to talk over me, refusing to let me get a word in edgewise... and then she hung up on me. Makes me super sad because I was being soooo nice and careful with what I was saying. I hate taking time out of my day to deal with negative energy, so I figured I'd let Amex deal with her and write this review so that others are put on notice about this place.

I got married in Manhattan in November and we were very happy with Cape Lily's flower services!…read moreSylvia and Cape Lily came highly recommended from a friend, and absolutely exceeded expectations. Sylvia took the time to meet with my husband and I before our wedding for a couple of hours to get to know us and our tastes. She came to the meeting prepared with tons of amazing flower recommendations, a photo collection to look through for inspiration, and a vast knowledge of beautiful color palette ideas and various styles. I'm not a flower expert, and since I was my own wedding planner, I was unsure of what I wanted (to say the least). Sylvia helped us to feel confident in our ideas - giving lots of guidance, but also listening to our ideas and helping us to articulate our vision. Throughout the planning process I changed what I wanted flower wise a number of times. Sylvia was completely flexible and patient and worked with me and my budget. As the wedding approached, she met us at the space for a walk through to confirm where everything needed to go, and to make sure we were on the same page, down to the last detail. I felt completely confident that my flowers would be beautiful by the end of the process. I was right to feel confident - they were beautiful! They captured the essence of my romantic, NYC Fall wedding perfectly. She traveled all over the city the day of to make sure groomsmen had boutonnieres and the girls had their flowers. I didn't have to think about a thing logistically, which is what one wants on their wedding day. Thanks Sylvia, for helping me to have a Pintrest worthy wedding! :)
