I have been going to this little shop on the lake - we call it "Sally Ann's" for years. No one understand why we go there, but I'll attempt to explain. For starters - the two girls at the counter - Diane and Doreen have become like family. We've shared dog stories, kid problems and basically just gotten to know two people that we wouldn't have ever met if we didn't make that first trip in. Secondly - with all the stress of today - it's great to be able to go somewhere and just rummage through stuff. It's sorta like a forever yard sale and the selections are endless. Sure you have to pick through a lot to find the steal, but every once in awhile - it just takes our minds off from everything else. It's amazing that if you just give it a shot - what you might find. PLUS - we donate everything we don't want or need right back to this location. We don't throw anything usable out or save it for our own yard sale. Instead - we meticulously record every item we donate and receive receipts, which turn out to save us huge on tax returns. From genuine coach purses - to really great knock offs - to New Religion Jeans, Anne Taylor - RL - Tommy - you name it - you might find it here. Yes - some clothes and some items should have been tossed out or used for rags - but that's the fun of it - picking through all that stuff. Sure you might have a load of laundry to wash - you just can't beat the price for grandchildren's play clothes or for those pants to mow the lawn in. How about that brand new pair of dress pants with that new shirt still with the tags. I'm sorry, but I like a bargain and I don't mind shopping around in a thrift store. For service, staff friendliness - this store would get 5 stars, however, it is very disorganized and not the cleanest of places - so I am dropping it down to 4 stars and hope no one shops here!

Every time we stop in this little "Gem in Dunkirk" there is something new and different - really unique items. The pricing is really great and your dollar goes a long way here. Some of the items are so hard to find that this might be the only place you will see some of these things. This store if far better then most Thrift stores we've ever been to - so much more that we don't even call it a thrift store - it's definitely a boutique! There is normally parking on the side street - the store itself faces the main road, but it sits on a corner - so parking on the side street is the best place as there is a fire hydrant right out front and no sense giving the City of Dunkirk the money you just saved by shopping at this store. The items you will find in this store range from slightly used clothing (not a huge selection, but something for everyone), household items, books, CD's, toys, seasonal items (GREAT Christmas finds), furniture, TV's that work and are plugged in, and the list just is endless. I almost don't want you to shop here because I can't get everything I want all at once and I'm afraid you will find my stuff and buy it up! However, the owners and their daughter that works there are so friendly and helpful I'd like to see them flourish in this economy. So - I'm willing to share. Right now they have amazing store hours and are open 7 days a week - YES even on Sundays when there is little else to do - take a drive down the scenic route to Dunkirk and stop and and check this place out!

This store is located near downtown Albion, just across the street from the public library. It is in the same building as the laundromat, so can be easily overlooked--but don't overlook it, as there are some great deals here! We were so fortunate to on a whim stop by on their dollar clothes sale day. Every clothes item in the store was just a dollar each, WHOA! :-O It isn't a huge thrift store, but we still found some great finds! The clothes are organized very well by item type/size, making it easy to peruse everything in a reasonable time. In addition to apparel, there are all of the other typical thrift store sections, including accessories, shoes, books, housewares, toys, games, dishes, bedding/curtains, artwork, decor, etc., and some furniture. I was particularly impressed with the dishes and china area. If I had less self-constraint and more room, some lovely new-to-me-china pieces would have definitely come home with me, hahaha. Overall, the regular prices here are very reasonable. Of course if you hit it on a dollar-deal-day, that is a phenomenal steal. But clothes regular prices were about $2 - $4 or $5 a piece. We live in the Buffalo burbs, and the thrift stores I frequent closer to home have regular prices about double that these days. So when we are in town at our camp, or maybe even just for a country drive to Albion on the off season, Main Street Thrift Store is well worth the adventure. Great deals, good assortment, tidy and well organized, and friendly staff--stop in to find some new-to-you treasures soon! :-)

Armani, RL, Boss and now over 100 pieces of Under Armour activewear are a few pieces I've discovered...always a mini gold mine with the mens clothes. 5 department store racks packed with high quality clothing with more coming in weekly. Lol...I can wear a totally different outfit daily for six months and not repeat any pieces. Addict perhaps? Perfect store for that!! My whole dining room was found there, piece by piece, as well as some Stiffel lamps, all in flawless condition. The table is an Art Deco one off piece made of six exotic hard woods, dated 1934. I've certainly unearthed some valuable things, both at this location as well as the one on Elmwood. Prices are far lower than Goodwill and the staff are very friendly and they greet me when I see them. Best store in Buffalo!!!
