6 months of hell…read more Dealing with this company is a joke. One would think that if someone was dealing with people that need mobility devices, they would have compassion and make an effort to accommodate them. This company throws a chair at you no matter if it fits, and then tries to make adjustments with foam and cushions. Repeatedly. Doesn't matter if the chair actually fits the person in question. Doing more damage to the injured person is not a good way to do business and opens themselves up to losing said business. Piecemeal fixes are not what this is about and can actually further the damage the injured person has sustained. I recommend passing this company by and finding a business that actually cares more about the person and less about the money 8 months of hell continued... Nothing has changed. They are lazy uncaring and couldn't do anything right if they had an ethics manual. As I've said before...AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A MONEY GRUBBING, LYING, OVERPRICED, UNCARING, SLACKING,HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL MORALS BUSINESS. Amit (the owner?) is all of the above and more. He leaves people for days without their needs. He tries to rig wheelchairs to fit the patient instead of getting them one that fits, he has left patients waiting for days for a bed move!!!!! What does a patient do with just a mattress on the floor???? They are not BBB accredited, indeed they have an F rating. If I could rate them below one star it would be -5! Again, please avoid this company for you and your loved ones. You will get nothing but problems and grief

Once I asked for prices on replacing frames and that i needed the information for insurance purposes, I was told "I'm too busy". So I said I have one more question and was told "I'm busy" and he proceeded to look at his phone and appeared to be texting. So I persisted and said that I was interested in Casson specifically because I had lost a whole collection of Casson's work and the reply was "I don't know what it's worth, you'll have to go on line and find it" and he just carried on with his phone and ignored me. I have several pieces which were damaged in the fire and are in need of re-framing but I didn't dare mention that because I knew the answer,"I'm too busy". Thanks for showing your level of service before I trusted you with any of my work. Mike

Zuher quickly assessed the problem with a old model, malfunctioning machine (Another sewing machine repair shop could not figure out the problem and wanted to charge nearly $100 just to open the machine and figure out the problem!) Zuher followed through and the machine was in full working order when he said it would be. We ultimately decided to buy a new machine based on the general wear and deterioration of the old machine, and Zuher waived the repair fee! The new machine also came with a great warranty (2 years!) that we wouldn't have gotten at one of the big box stores. Great service. I would highly recommend a visit to the Ottawa Sewing Centre.

The only issue has been our experience with our Kitchen Aid induction cooktop. Thinking of buying one...? Please don't! Our 3-year old cooktop started beeping and shutting down. The Extended Warranty covered the part and after two tries the service contractor called Whirlpool (the granddaddy of all appliance companies!). They said the "part was no longer available!" They meant the Induction top board not the ubiquitous control board. As a result our Induction top/ stove is no longer reparable and is basically junkable! So we are looking to replace a 3 yo stove! So UA gets 5 stars, but Kitchen Aid gets 0! How to compute the review?

The appliance was delivered at 5.30am by a very intimidating man who refused to unpack it or lift it onto the kitchen counter. I am a 60+ year old woman and was alone in the house. His parting comment was thar he expected a positive review of the service. Universal Appliance was totally disinterested in my experience. 5.30am was dark (it was Winter), obviously, I was still in bed, clearly not expecting a delivery. I struggled to lift the appliance and had to ask a neighbour for help. Universal Appliance had said that instillation was covered by the additional cost but were dismissive of my experience. The experience was, quite frankly both disturbing and threatening. I have bought an Aga stove and the Sharp multi function microwave from this company. I will never patronize them again.

Overall satisfied with the installation of carpets but would not return as a customer to this…read morelocation and likely any other location due to poor customer service. Installed product was done as I expected, and the install team was very professional and met my expectations. To note but was not an issue for me, the installers arrived a ¾ of an hour into the installation window and install took marginally longer than expected window, but were clearly working to their capacity, just the estimation was likely off. Customer service was below an expected level. During measurement, Chris Foley (Manager) did not take any Covid 19 precautions, and closed into within 2 meters from myself, resulting in me having to take precautions from him vice him from me in my residence. Managed to not touch much but did help himself to sit at a table. Not satisfactory in todays world and resulted in the customer having to do work to sanitize after his departure. Manager attempted to up sell me to resurface more than was requested, using the safety of my kids and the dangers of hardwood floors as the rational to resurface more of the desired spaces. This is an incredibly low tactic which in retrospect should have made me reconsider conducting business. I was only provided an invoice once I demanded on the day of installation, with the manager suggesting that the carbon copy previously provided was sufficient. My insistence of a line by line invoice seemed to be a large inconvenience for the manager but he indicated that he thought it had been previously sent. When questioned about lack of clarity of the invoice, the manager became curt and aggressive towards my wife, and did not want her to transfer to me, assessed as my wife as an attempt to bully her. When transferred to me, his first statement being that he would pull the team off the project immediately and how dare I question someone who has 35 plus years of experience. This is a bully tactic and should not be in tolerated in the current world. The manage refused to listen to me, cutting me off by saying that he would answer my questions, despite me not yet finishing my sentence. I never actually was able to ask my question and ultimately did not receive satisfaction to my questions. Of concern, the manager had a series of answers to provide prior to being asked which indicates that he often receives questions signalling that there may be a pattern of the business not be providing information until asked for it. Despite the understanding that the customer was to remove the existing carpet "lift the carpet on the Invoice", on the day of the install I was informed that I was to coordinate the disposal of the old carpet. Minor inconvenience but something that could have been done prior had the expectations been better laid out. The manager accepted that he did didn't articulate this nor that he put it on the carbon copy invoice, suggesting that disposal costs the major portion of the $0.50 per sq ft that they charged vice labour to remove the carpet, underlay, and staples. An efficient business may have offered to do amend the contract and add the disposal at $0.50 per sq ft to make profit, but it was not offered possibly not possible due to final payment was processed prior to start of the job. Overall more of an annoyance but very much encapsulates the customer service provided. Recommend anyone using this business avoid dealing with the manager, or conversely go to the other location on Merivale Rd, as it is 20 minutes away and has much better reviews.
