We did the private 2hr mountain tour with the proposal and picnic package, and it honestly could not have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and Sarah took the most incredible photos for us that we'll cherish forever. It's definitely worth reading up on during your visit. There are many options of places to stay. The staff and awesome website is there to help. We stayed at the Colonel's House (built in 1904). It's a beautiful, historic house that's the cornerstone of Camp Casey. Taking in the history of this incredible structure is so worth it. There's gorgeous views including the Parade Field and Admiralty Inlet, especially during sunset. There's easy access to the beach and Ft Casey. Definitely take a short walk over to Ft. Casey State Park and the beautiful Admirality Lighthouse. It's going to be fun watching this place evolve as the YMCA continues the renovation on the buildings. Highly recommended!

This is frustrating as a tax paying member of the community. I understand that the high school likes to use this park to play and that as a player it would be annoying to find dog waste on the field. HOWEVER, I don't think that banning dogs from the softball field is the answer. All members of the community should be able to use the park as they see fit. Especially considering this is a public park - not owned by Mount Vernon High School.

Addie gave us tons of educational info that was cool and interesting. Although we didn't sea orcas breaching over our kayaks like we'd dreamed of, we did see plant life, fish, crab, seals on rocks, and "Ellie Mae" the female elephant seal on shore. 1.5 tour was the perfect amount of time for our day. It's so neat to be able to touch animals that few people see, let alone pet. I have a picture of her as a small child, almost lying on top of a wallaby in the sun. So, when a friend from Seattle asked that I meet her halfway from my north end location, this was the outing I chose for the day. The tour wasn't as long as I remembered it being, and the marsupials weren't quite as snuggly. However, the variety was amazing. There were tiny baby lemurs on display, a mama wallaby with a baby in her pouch, burros, kissing alpacas, emus you could pet... it's a pretty unique experience. I only removed one star because I felt rushed through. In the past I don't recall feeling like I was being held to a tight time limit, and that was a little disappointing. Overall, it's a cool experience, and I highly recommend it-- especially for those with children.

They offer guided tours only, lasting about 40 minutes with ample opportunities to interact with the animals. We were able to feed wallabies, kangaroos, goats, llamas and donkeys. There were also lemurs, peacocks, chickens and more! Each animal stop came with fun facts, stories and even a trivia round. Fun for even adults looking for something new! Definitely check the farm out, Thursday to Sunday, and enjoy wildlife not usually seen in the PNW!

First impressions only, as I was only there for a short time to video a ride for a friend…read more The grounds are very clean and well-kept, with large trailer parking areas and a circular driveway around the barn for all you non-trailer-backers out there. The horses turned out in runs and pastures all looked well fed and cared for. They have an impressive Extreme Trail Course built outside, see pictures -- this is not open to the public to ride or walk through, which is understandable as it looks like they want to keep everything nice for competitions. There is a huge outdoor ring (maybe 100x200?) with sand/small rock footing -- nothing that I would jump in, but it works for flatting well enough, and they had a bunch of de-spooking obstacles set up at the time that were interesting. They allow haul-ins I believe for $20 per horse/rider combo, which is very reasonable considering how nice the facility is and that you are allowed to use their obstacles. There is an indoor arena also, but we only used the outdoor so I don't know if haul-ins are allowed to use it or not.

The owner, Cindy, took him from me to demonstrate and beat on him On the neck and face with a whip. He was terrified and was trying to back away and escape from her but she wouldn't have it. She just kept hitting him. I asked her to stop and she told me she had to show him who's boss. If you believe that you should train a horse with physical pain, this is your place. Otherwise, avoided like the plague.

My sister had recently come here to go kayaking and recommended it as a spot to visit. So, I decided to give it a try as a lunch spot. Discovery passes were required for parking, fortunately I had thought ahead and it was in the glove compartment of my car. I arrived towards the morning side of noon on 1 September 2021 and parking was abundant. The weather was sunny with a slight wind. So I decided to park, grab my lunch and eat on a piece of driftwood on the beach. A group of kayakers were just heading out as I ate and a few dog walkers made their way up and down the shore. Just up from the beach there were picnic tables and a large grassy expanse. A trail led off into a wooded area. The restroom building not far from the parking lot was kept cleanly.
