At $198. round trip it is a bargain and definitely less wear and tear on my car and body. Now the trip is 445 miles and takes two hours. Why so long propeller plane flies below the clouds. I liked it about 100 persons onboard means less germs. Also since it is a small airline they are friendly and nice. Wow where do you find that anymore. It was our first but not our last. read more

As a person who has flew low budget airlines both nationally and internationally no airline had me as anxious as this one. First, the flight was delayed. The plane was on site for a good 40 minutes but they wouldn't let us board. When we could finally board, it was 22 minutes past the original departure time. As the plane descended, my husband and my seat leaned backwards and the plane rattled. As a result of the delay, my husband and I had to run through the airport to catch our connecting flight. We made it to our next flight just in time to board. Overall, I do not recommend Silver if you value your time, quality, and safety. I have them 2 stars because we landed safely. read more

On our flight from San Juan Puerto Rico to Tortola, we were in the air and they said they had to divert our 45 minute flight to st. Thomas due to an engine problem. When we got there they told us to get our bags and that was basically it. We had to pay $80 per person to get to Tortola on the ferry. On the way back they cancelled our flight and we had to spend an extra $300 per person to change flights to get back the same day to our destination. Will never ever fly this airline again. Also on our way there the flight before us with the same destination on silver airways had to turn around mid flight due to a technical issue with the plane. read more

My husband brought tickets to surprise me for my birthday to go to fort lauderdale the day before they kept saying that we will be delayed then they canceled the flight. My husband called and they said we was leaving at 10:45 am they text at 5am to tell us we delayed until 1 something then my husband called at they told us to go to the airport they delayed the flight told us they are fixing the plane now delayed it again. Silver Airways (now United Airlines) - is the worst, most unreliable airline I have ever had the experience of dealing with. Do not be conned into believing that because United purchased Silver that it will improve service. At this point my deep dissatisfaction with Silver has now spilled into the same feelings for United since they chose to purchase the bankrupt airline. There have been repeated cancellations and delays I've experienced. There have been numerouse traveling and delays for extended periods or outright cancellations, often with little notice and insufficient explanation. Before you say I shouldn't be traveling on this budget, low cost airline - it is these exact airlines that have marketed themselves as convenient direct flight options into / out of smaller airports. However - I am warning every traveler - it is simply not worth it. The frustration and incompetence is not worth the stress and headaches involved. Just drive or take another airline even if it means a connecting flight. This has become a pattern rather than an isolated incident, and it reflects a troubling lack of reliability and regard for customer experience. Most disturbing is that United purchased Silver - leading customers to believe that maybe a change for the better could be expected. That is not the case. The inconvenience, added expenses, and time lost have been unacceptable. I believe passengers deserve timely, transparent communication and consistent service--especially from a major airline. read more

Beware Beware Beware. Silver's customer service is awful. Silver Airway's reliability is even worse than their customer service. Silver Cancelled our flight from Orlando to Key West on 1/2/25 20 minutes before the scheduled time. We had to go back to the checkin counter through TSA. Check in made no arrangements for a later flight so I made my on my own with another airline as gate agent said we can't help you do that. We grabbed a flight on American and guess what? There were folks from our original Silver flight on the American flight and Silver arranged that. Gate agent said he would refund our fare - never happened. Had to go through Travelocity to get a refund and they could only get 1/2 our fare refunded after 3 weeks. It will be another 6 weeks til the refund shows up. read more

It is super difficult to get from Ft. Lauderdale to Tallahassee. There just aren't many options if you don't want to be forced to catch a connection in Atlanta or Charlotte. Instead, Silver offers a direct flight. The propeller plan is a little slower, and flies a little lower, but the flight was smooth and comfortable. I've heard some say that the plans are loud inside but perhaps that is an old stigma as I did not find that to be the case. The cabin is small and the seat space a little tight. The seats don't recline but I think that is a plus as it keeps the passenger in front of me from cramping the already limited space any further. My only two noteworthy complaints are that the plan gets very warm at the gate and while taxiing and takes awhile to cool off after takeoff. Probably the worst part is their staff has shown a likelihood to tend towards rudeness. Some of them have been super nice and accommodating, but a majority seem disgruntled, moody, and not inclined to be in a service industry. Nevertheless, for the price and convenience, Silver Airlines will remain my preferred choice to get from FLL to TLH. There is a rumor JetBlue is adding a direct flight later this year, which would change this immediately for me. read more

I wanted to like Silver Airways, I read bad reviews and gave them the benefit of the doubt. But if you can avoid or can chose another option please do! I flew from Newark to Puerto Rico round trip on JetBlue, then Puerto Rico to St Croix round trip on Silver Airways. Going down was awesome, no delay, everyone in Puerto Rico was lovely, we arrived in St Croix 20 minutes early. Great experience. Coming back was where I saw the true Silver Airways! I was supposed to fly on Tuesday at 6:05pm off Island, arriving in Puerto Rico before 7pm to catch my flight with JetBlue back to Newark leaving at 10:50pm, plenty of time, even a slight delay and I'm good. Between 10am and 11am, I get multiple emails telling me the departure time was delay, to 6:20, 6:40, 6:10, back and forth, that's fine, then I was put on the 4pm flight off the island, I could make it so that's fine, I'm leaving the island. Then 5 minutes later, I was told cancelled altogether and that I was put on the 6:05pm flight off island the day after (Wednesday). 3 flights off the Island through Silver, 8am ish, 4pm ish and 6:05pm. Luckily Newark airport was having issues, so my JetBlue flight could be modified free of charge. So, I move that flight and have the same itinerary the next day. Extra day on the island, I'm staying with family friends, so accommodation was sorted, totally fine. I called silver and they said they flight was on so I didn't doubt it. All Wednesday morning I'm checking my emails to see if there is any change to my flight like the day before, no communication, I'm hopeful. I have my boarding pass. I go to the airport and happen to go to the Silver counter to confirm the flight is going before going to TSA, they said they have been trying to contact me all day, to tell me there is a chance the flight will be cancelled. Told me the flight won't fly out if taking off after 6pm (even though the original flight was scheduled for 6:05pm, and they couldn't tell me why). I got no email, no text, nothing, which was shocking because the day before I got around 10 communications. The flight isn't cancelled yet, but they still rebook me for the 8am on the next day (Thursday). We go and sit in Turtleback Brewery (the unofficial airport waiting lounge on island) checking to see if the flight from Puerto Rico is on its way, cause if it comes to Island, it has to go back. Still no emails or communications. At 5:06pm the flight leaves Puerto Rico, great! We are also checking and you can still purchase a ticket online for the 6:05pm flight, on Silver's website, this tells me the flight is still on and not cancelled. We drive back to the airport to speak to ladies on the Kiosk, they now say, yeah, it's coming over, but it's going back as a "re-po" flight, no passengers. They did not tell us that originally, if they did, I would have understood a little more but they told me just "it might be cancelled". We tried to ask why, if they had paying passengers scheduled for this flight. They were very rude again about the whole thing, telling me it's a re-po, no passengers, "you have a flight tomorrow, what's the big deal?" - I am 2 days late going back, 2 extra unplanned days out of work... thank goodness I'm staying with family friends because that would have been 2 extra nights in a hotel. Now my JetBlue flight can't be moved again in the app, or cancelled, I call them, I have to pay a $100 cancellation fee, get a small refund, then have to rebook myself on another flight out of Puerto Rico Thursday afternoon. Thursday morning, I go to the airport, there are lots of other passengers there, all flying Silver, so I am more hopeful. The rude lady is still being rude to everyone she speaks to, so I know it wasn't just me and the situation, it's how she treats everyone. But I didn't have to speak to them this morning. 3rd times a charm! We take off on time, land early, I sit in Puerto Rico from 9:30am to 4:20pm because to fly to Newark you take the 4:55pm or 10:40pm, and I'm back where I'm supposed to be, almost 48 hrs later. My issues: - Employees lying about the situation - Being very rude when I was just trying to understand why - If you have paying customers on the flight, and it HAS to fly back to Puerto Rico, why take them off and send it back as a re-po flight? - I will get no compensation from them even though I was delayed leaving over 36hrs - If you've ever been to St. Croix, you know there are not many flights off the Island, by 4pm, I had no other options to get out. I was relying on my booking to go through. Now I know, Silver can only slightly guarantee you will get off island with them if you book the 8am flight. I would happily fly TO St. Croix with them, on the 8am that was full of workers coming to Island, but I wouldn't risk flying off island. If it wasn't for Newark having issues, I would have paid so much to cancel and rebook flights. I will stick to American Airlines, JetBlue or Spirit to get off Island next time. read more

My emailed Silver Airways COMPLAINT: When booking our tickets, I intentionally selected Row 2 due to the additional legroom it provides. My husband is 6'8 "and 270 pounds, and I am 5'10", so having sufficient space is crucial for our comfort and well-being during a flight, even a short one. However, just before takeoff, we were abruptly instructed to move to the very back of the plane. Not only were we relocated, but we were also separated. We were told this was due to "weight distribution" and that no other seating options were available. This explanation was troubling, especially as some visibly empty rows and seats would have allowed for both more legroom and the ability to remain together. Even more concerning was the lack of empathy shown. The flight attendant acknowledged my husband's size but still forced him into a cramped seat next to another male passenger with absolutely no legroom. At the time of being squeezed in a tiny space, he banged and scratched his knee, which made the situation more painful and uncomfortable. Only after I began taking photos of the situation and the people in front of me stated, "You should complain," did someone finally mention that he might be able to move "later in the flight." We purchased our tickets at a premium for specific seats to ensure basic comfort. We were not given any reasonable alternatives, nor treated with the compassion or respect that any customer deserves. Given this unacceptable experience, I respectfully request a refund for the seat selection charges and any applicable upcharges for services we were ultimately denied. I would also appreciate reassurance that Silver Airways takes these concerns seriously and will work to improve how customers with special seating needs are treated moving forward. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response. The staff is very disorganized. they are constantly late and this time they were late because they had to "change the oil", so they said. Now we are sitting on the runway with the engines on full throttle because they said they have too much fuel, now they have to burn fuel for 30 minutes. Silver Airways is a well established and safe airline. The Turboprop ATR 42 and 72 is a proven product and ideal for island flying. The pilot training is first rate. Compared to other similar air carriers in the area of where Silver has it's operation certificate, Silver takes the lead in quality and safety. read more

Horrible, actually. -left from Pensacola, the "gate" had about 15-20 seats total. Leaving many to sit on the stairs or just stand. -if you're sitting in a window seat & have a personal item, tough luck putting it under the seat in front of you. The legs of the seat in front of you directly block you from putting your bag there. So you get to squeeze it in with your neighbor. Better hope they don't have a big bag -boarded late, took off 50 min late (we were notified by email of the delay while sitting on the plane waiting.. 30 minutes after our scheduled take off time -while we were sitting and waiting, the captain let us know that they had to off-load some bags due to weight but that the gate agents in Pensacola were already in communication with agents in orlando and we could check at the gate to see if our bags made it or not. After landing in orlando our gate agent told us we'd just have to see which bags came off the carousel. My bag did not make it. -filled out a mishandled baggage report in the bag services office (as did many others), and was told that they were going to try to get it onto the next flight out, which was the following day at noon, and I would be contacted once they had my bag in possession in orlando. -I received a phone call notifying me of the arrival of my bag at 8pm the following day. I let them know that I wouldn't be able to come back to the airport until Monday (2 days after they called me) and the employee on the phone said he would make note of it and that they're open until 11pm on that day. Problem solved right? Wrong - I arrived back at the airport on Monday evening at about 7pm. I made my way to the same bag service office only to find it to be closed, locked and lights off. Sign on the front door let me know that if I was there to inquire about my luggage I needed to go upstairs to the ticketing counter - After finding the ticketing counter I was so lovely greeted by absolutely no one. Counter was empty. So I start looking for a number to call, I find only one number about changing flight reservations. Well I call it anyway, because if I can speak to someone they may be able to point me in the right direction. Once I called and pressed the promoted buttons to reach the reservations office, I was notified by yet another automated message that the reservation office is closed and I'd have to call back during the hours of operation. Please note that on silver airways website this number is listed as the number to call if we need immediate assistance! I waited at the ticket counter for 1.5 hours total with no luck of seeing an employee. - Alright what's my next step to get ahold of someone.... Call back the same number that called me to let me know my bag had arrived in orlando. My only options from this automated message were reservations (which I already tried with no luck), HR, employee payroll, recruiting & accounting. - Overall, I waited 3 hours in the Orlando airport, walking back and forth from the bag service office to the ticket counter, just hoping a silver airways employee would show up to let me get my bag. I had the information desk page overhead 3x for assistance with no luck. At about 10PM, finally an employee appeared and I was able to retrieve my luggage. I then had a 2 hour drive back home. 7 hours of my day wasted that could have been spent with my family. Honorable mention: -no jet bridge onto plane in Pensacola or off of plane in orlando. Now this really isn't a big deal, however the path to the plane in Pensacola was clearly marked, orlando was not. A silver airways employee in orlando told us to "follow the cones". There were cones literally everywhere. So naturally we all accidentally started walking in the incorrect direction, the employee was very rude when re-directing us, essentially yelled at us as if we were children. It was just a cherry on top after flying in a cramped plane not knowing if my luggage was even coming with me. All this to say, DO NOT fly with silver if you wish to have smooth travels. The "budget" prices, are not NEARLY worth the frustration & disappointment you will experience. read more

I'm literally in the air writing this review. Firstly arrived for my scheduled flight on time to be told upon check in that there is a two hour delay but they aren't sure so stay near the gate in case they spontaneously bored. Great start. Upon boarding two hours delayed, we were greeted by the nicest stewardess who looked like she was trapped in the cabin with no a/c no water. immediately began to feel the heat myself as the vents pushed hot air the entirety of the flight. We were gaslit and told it would get cool but instead we were trapped in a flying sauna. Although it's a cheaper airline I would've rathered paid double my ticket then have been stuck with my bum to the seat. Oh wait but at least they gave out cups of ice. UNETHICAL. read more

I really liked silver airways. I love that their planes are pink. Obviously since it's a smaller aircraft you can kind of feel it moving a lot more than the bigger ones. I know a lot of people think that it feels more unsafe. I've flown them several times and I've never had a problem on their planes. I like that you can fly into Key West for a lot more affordable and I've done some of the smaller Florida destinations with this airline. The flight attendants are always super nice, and I like the smaller plane setting with less people that way you can get in and out of the plane a lot quicker. If you like to get off the plane first make sure to get a seat toward the back of the plane, since the door for the airline exits from the back. I highly recommend getting a window seat it's really beautiful flying in and seeing the Florida Keys from the window. read more

Unlike most on here, my flights were not delayed. I flew from San Juan to Tortola and all went well. The plane was a little hot, but it's the Caribbean, I'll survive. The following week, I had a return flight, which was also on time, but this is where the problem arose. As my partner and I were boarding at the very front of the line and at the bottom of the stairs, we were asked to check our carry-on bags. No reason was given, and no time to remove anything. The plane was nearly empty, maybe 15 people on board. On the flight out, our bags had been in the overhead compartments above our seats, and we had no reason to believe the return flight would be any different. Since I was wearing comfortable clothes for flying, my pockets were empty other than my phone, and my wallet was in the front zipper pocket of my carry-on. (foreshadowing..) When I got to my hotel in San Juan, I found that all the cash was missing from my wallet. I can't prove anything, because obviously I don't have video of their crew rifling through my bag, but the only time that bag and/or my wallet was out of my sight the entire day was during the boarding and the flight. The reply from customer service pointed me to their contract with: "... Silver Airways is not liable as per our contract of carriage Rule 240 for any item that is missing of a check bag or carry-on as is the passenger responsibility to have the most important items on there [sic] person as our policy." Two stars because both flights were on time and pleasant enough. I guess I got a $70 lesson to fly a different airline next time, and check online reviews beforehand for airlines I've never heard of. Needless to say, if you don't have another option, keep your valuables on your person in case one of the ground crew in Tortola or the flight attendant has sticky fingers that day. read more

If you value your time please don't fly with them no matter how "cheap" the flight might be. It's really not worth it. Canceled my flight one day after more than 4 hours waiting at the airport. I received the first email saying the flight was delayed at 11 am. I ended up spending more time on Lyft that my airplane ticket. (They said they would refund the taxi money by mail so at least I'll give them that). Tried again the next day. They kept changing the departure time since 11 am. The flight was supposed to depart at 6:20 pm. They don't pick up their phones and if they do call back is hours later when you don't need them anymore. 30 minutes before the supposed boarding flight at 9:38 pm no one was to be seen at the desk. Flew with them recently. Two days before my trip I received an email that my return flight had been canceled. I emailed for assistance and got no response. A day after that I received a follow up email that the cancelation had been a mistake and it would operate as scheduled. Fast forward to the day before I was scheduled to fly home and I was unable to check in, and their website was showing it as canceled. Google flights and a few other websites still showed it as an active flight. I emailed customer service again, still crickets. The next day (the day of my flight) I waited for an hour for a call back only to be informed that it is indeed canceled with no flight option until the following day. When I got to the airport there was a line at the Silver desk with no one else having been informed of the canceled flight. Canceling a flight is one thing, but not properly communicating it to your customers is another... My return flight was refunded, but I had to spend an additional $215 on Delta, and it took me 8 hours to get home instead of 2. Wouldn't book with Silver again. read more

.... STAY AWAY! HORRIBLE! My husband, granddaughter, and myself flying to and from Disney. Got to the ticketing counter in Pensacola 2 hours before our flight, NO STAFF. The people handling baggage and fueling the plane came in 45 minutes later to handle ticketing. After another 20 minutes of them trying to figure out how to issue the ticket for a minor, they handed us 4 boarding passes. They had my husband listed as the child, my 10 year old granddaughter listed as the adult, and me listed as an infant. We received an extra boarding pass with someone else's name on it that we had to give back. The plane was rickety at best. No service and $145 for 3 bags. Interesting how the return flight baggage fee was less expensive even though we had a lot more stuff in them?? They also only asked for my husband's identification!! Traveling with a minor child and they didn't ask for mine or to see her birth certificate which is her identification underage. Return flight was delayed 3 times and then canceled. When asking for half of my money back, they claimed the first flight was worth more than the 2nd and agreed to just over a third of the money back due to seating upgrades. Make no mistake! There are NO upgrades available on these junk planes!! We're charging the entire amount back to our Amex now. They had a chance to do the right thing but would not, so now they can eat the whole amount instead. We had to spend another night in Orlando and book a flight on a different airline to get home. Silver Airways is without question the most incompetent, poorly run, customer unfriendly airline in the continental United States of America, potentially the entire world. The airline is completely incapable of running a flight on time. The apathetic staff make no communications to the passengers to alert them of why there is a delay and how it might be solved. If you actually manage to get on a plane, they are old, dirty, poorly cleaned and probably held together by hockey tape. The service onboard is nonexistent, the boarding process is calamitous and everyone that works for the airline appears to deeply hate their job. If there is any other possible alternative than Silver Airways that fits into your travel plans, I strongly advise you look into that alternative. My entire experience with Silver Airways was not what I expected from a reputable airline (which this group is definitely not!) First off, the "price" for the round-trip fight is NOT transparent. You get a low fare and then they nickel and dime you for everything. A major surprise comes when you see the luggage prices!! $43-48 for one checked bag; now that is highway robbery! Paying $25-30 is bad enough, but nearly $100 for a round trip flight?!! I paid for my luggage upfront, but my companion flyers did not. They had a carry-on but decided to check it anyway. After taking their credit card information, they were informed the price was $48. After the charge went through, the representative asked if the bag contained any liquids. They said no and he said, "Well, you could have just carried it on the plane". They tried to do that and requested a refund for the amount paid; however, the representative said the charge already went through and he had no way to reverse it. (What???!!) The check-in process at Fort Lauderdale was also confusing. It took forever to check-in and the entrance line is very confusing. It is very close to United Airlines, and it is not easy to determine what line you are in. I had to crawl under the rope line to see an agent. Our flight to Marsh Harbor, The Bahamas was pleasant enough and the flight attendant was friendly and passed out small water bottles during the short flight. The return flight was not anywhere close to the first flight. The airplane was over 40 minutes late in arriving, with no announcement from the representatives as to the delay. The flight attendant on the plane was rude and did not smile or make you feel welcome, even after I said "hello" as I walked on the plane. Then, a heavy-set man came to sit in the seat next to me. He had to lift the arm rest handle between us so that he could fit in. This required me to move as far to the left as possible, whereby I was up against the arm rest on the aisle. If you are going to change passengers by the seat and row they sit in, Silver Airways should be required to make sure I get the ENTIRE seat I paid for; but this airline is only interested in taking your money. Customer service is severely lacking with this organization. I only flew Silver Airways because my companions suggested it for the wedding weekend. I do NOT plan to book this airline again. I would gladly pay more for better service on a professional airline. The round trip cost my nearly $500 (with all the add-ons) and it definitely was NOT worth the price. read more

I highly recommend using a different air line. My wife and I had a flight at 7:45 from Orlando to Pensacola. we arrived 2 hours early and see TSA is extremely understaffed with the longest line of people waiting to go through security. We waited in line and made it to the gate by 8:30 and over half the people flying on our flight missed the flight. We were greeted with poor customer service and $10 refund for our $300 flight. We rented a car and drove to Pensacola airport to pick up our luggage and we had to wait an additional 3 hours to get our bags because SilverAirways is understaffed and leaves the ticket area unattende. Save yourself the trouble, pay the extra money and fly with a better team. read more

I really hope they go out of business. Delayed, unsafe airplane conditions, no updates on an app or website, 0 communication. I wouldn't go on this plane again if someone paid me to. Going from FLL to TPA and it says it takes an hour and 15 min. Took Southwest and it took 40 minutes. Everyone at gate complaining because they tell us we take off at 8:38 (after it was delayed by an hour and 18 min with no foreseen bad weather in the whole state of FL), and still haven't boarded at 8:43. Very sad. Update: ended up taking off at 9:30. Pilot practically did a nose dive when we were about to land and we landed so hard, we smelt the burning rubber off the wheels. Also flew through insane turbulence, though there was maybe a cloud or 2 in the sky. read more

If you thought Frontier was bad, hold on! Silver airways makes them look like the Concord. Delays delays and more delays.
