This was our second trip to Silvara. We have looked forward to revisiting Gary, the proprietor, and sampling the wines for some months. This trip we sampled the Meritage and found it a delight to the palliate. We bought bottles to bring home with us. It was a wonderful Fall day to sit on the patio in the warm sun and enjoy the scene stretched out before us.The only thing we missed was the old 1934 Studebaker vehicle that Gary is restoring. It sat as a welcoming sentinel last summer when we first discovered this winery. Excellent wine and classic cars instantly have our attention. Thank you for the hospitality, the excellent libation, and making our visit another highlight on our road trip to the Cascade Mountains. We shall certainly return. read more

Gorgeous location for private parties or just for a date night! Overlooking the beautiful mountains you can taste wines, play bocce ball, or simply order a glass and relax. They also have some fun items to buy near their entrance which is cute but also feels more like a gift shop. We stood at the counter to taste our wines which is always a downside for me. I wish they had stools to sit on or a purse hanger underneath the bar top. Perhaps next time I'll ask if they can do this at the tables outside I'm sure they do. Wine: Good to very good. Service: They do NOT waive the tasting fee if you buy bottles!!! Fair warning, if you taste you pay, regardless of how many bottles you buy. Secondly, the tasting is $10. I'll remind you that they are not in a wine area like Yakima or Chelan. The wine in Chelan is just as good (at a few places... Tildio, etc) and the experience is better. On top of that, when we paid for the tasting and the two bottles we bought, the receipt nonetheless asked for a tip. We were not fortunate enough to meet the gentleman mentioned in the reviews, but the two women who were working gave the air that they were doing us a favor. I've been visiting Leavenworth for many years and Silvara became one of my top stops from the day they opened. First off, their wine is consistently some of the best of the area. They always have a good selection to choose from. My current favorite is their Quartette (technically a quintette). Their facilities is a gorgeous lodge set up on a hill just south of Leavenworth. Cozy in the winter and the perfect place to watch the sunset in the summer on their patio with the fire pits and music. Good people, good wine, good views. A beautiful winery up on a hill, you can drink outside and enjoy the view. Wines are fantastic mostly from Yakima Valley. The 2013 Red Blend is a lovely red, must try! Very poor experience booking my Daughters wedding. Unfortunately had to cancel, contract was full refund ($8000) within 120 days, we cancelled 113 days, guess what, no refund, Arieca told me on the phone that if another event was booked we would receive the deposit back, 30 days go by and no event until I noticed on their calendar that they booked a white table dinner event the night that my kids wedding was scheduled. So, called Arieca and asked for my deposit back and was told that this didn't count as an event so I would not get my deposit back. Really? they scheduled an event on the day that we reserved and we are paying for their rent. Anyway I was upset and told Arieca that this was not a fair decision and she covered the phone and spoke with Gary, I heard the conversation Gary says " tell the guy you are with another customer and hang up on him" wow, these guys are crooks, dishonest and scammers, would not recommend any body giving them any money for anything. So now after that instance they have taken their calendar off line and does not show the event that is planned for June 8th, I will be out taking pictures of what they have going on that is not a "private event" and will take Silvara to court to have my deposit returned. Do not support this Vineyard they are crooks. read more

Nice view. Decent wine. Friendly staff. We enjoyed the berry notes and bought the Red Blend. Yes, the tasting pours for five dollars are small. The way to go is : buy the five dollar taster, then buy a glass of your favorite. Then enjoy the great view. This way you get a full glass of a wine you like. This is the worst winery I have ever been to for a wine tasting. Our group had reservations and when we showed up were completely ignored and the staff made us feel very unwelcome. They barely came by to give us tastings, skipped some and pretended we had them, and were extremely rude. I will never get a wine membership here again and as a local that lives here, will make sure everyone I know never steps foot into this establishment. First time I have been let down by a Trip Advisor review. In fact, this was such a horrible experience its the first time I have felt compelled to write a negative review due to the rude and possibly racist behavior. Based on previous reviews and its bucolic setting I chose to take my guests to Silvara Vineyards. We arrived Monday around 1 pm to an empty parking lot. We thought maybe it was closed, but the sign said they were open. We entered and found the space empty of people except a lone lady behind the counter. She was on a computer and on entering she offered no greeting, just looked up at us and glared as if we were disturbing her. We should have taken her rudeness as a warning and left, but we had taken the time to travel the from Leavenworth and the setting was nice so we naively stayed. When we walked up to the counter with a look of annoyance the lady got off her seat and came over to us. Again, she offered no greeting nor gave us any information on the winery. When we enquired about wine tasting her response was only "its $5 dollars per person" as if we were a bunch of freeloaders and that small price would send us packing. Foolishly we said yes, and though the room was empty with many tables and couches by the fire she did not offer us a seat to be more comfortable, but just placed our glasses on the counter where we were standing. Again, she never asked if we were familiar with the winery or gave us any background information, just handed us a paper with the wine information and began pouring or more accurately drizzling. I can only imagine the winery must be suffering from financial hardship, because the amount she poured was barely enough for one small sip. I have been to wineries all over the world and have never seen such a small amount poured. My guests were from Japan and would like to have bought a bottle to bring home but were so offended by the employees rudeness they refused. In full disclosure, we did have 2 small children with us but they were behaved and the sign out front said children were welcomed if accompanied by parents. Unfortunately, being short on time this was the only winery we had time to visit so could not try the other more convenient and friendlier tasting rooms I have been to in Leavenworth. We were in Leavenworth for 2 days and everyone from our hotel to the many shops and restaurants we visited were exceptionally hospitable, warm, friendly and to us which made the rude and inhospitable behavior we experienced at Silvara Winery all the more shocking. We look forward to returning to Leavenworth but not being masochist will avoid Silvara Winery. read more

A friend of mine saw an article about this winery, so we stopped by on our way back to Seattle. They have a great view and with great interior, but they have so many WRONGS in customer service and quality of their wine! The staff that was working today was Carmen. She saw us walked in and waited around the wine tasting area for about 5 mins finally asked us what we needed. The tasting was 5 for $5 which was reasonable, so we asked for 2 tastings. Then we waited around 10-15 more mins since Carmen was too busy talking with one other customer. She finally came and offered us the tasting, but she asked us which wine we wanted to try. There were only 5 wines on the list, so we told her we wanted to try 2 tastings off the list. She poured us the last bit of the Chenin Blanc in the first glass, then asked us what we want in the 2nd glass!! We reminded her we wanted exact 2 tasting off the list. Then we waited for another 5 mins for her to open another bottle of Chenin Blanc because she needed to clean up! When she poured to the 2nd glass, we thought she would top off the 1st glass since she served the last bit of the previous bottle, but no, she did not. We ended up tasting one sip of wine per tasting, which was very disappointing. Also, she asked us for $$ right of way after the first pour, I guess she worried that we would run away from her rudeness?? During our tasting, there was another group got a couple bottles of wine, sitting by the window and enjoying the view. A lady in the group came up to the wine tasting area and wanted to order some cheese and crackers, Carmen annoyingly told her they would need to bring the cheese to her to open, not that she would get everything to the customers. Honestly, we had better wines in Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery the night before and they had excellent customer service. I am not sure if Silvara has enough recurrent customers so don't care about new customers coming in for tasting or they know people will come because of their location and view, but I don't think our group will return anymore. read more

Never received a response of any kind. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this winery to anyone based on their lack of professionalism. A beautiful modern craftsman-esque tasting room sits atop a hill overlooking the farm and picturesque valley below, surrounded by 360 degree mountain views and Leavenworth itself to the left. The owner, Gary, is wonderfully passionate about the wines; just engage him in the conversation! The wines themselves are quite good, and the price for tasting reasonable. Enjoy a glass of your favorite out on the sprawling lawn outside if the weather is great, or cozy up indoors on one of the comfortable leather couches and lounge chairs. On Saturdays they usually have live music too. They are kid-friendly (which with 3 littles it's amazing to find a winery that won't scoff at us when they come with). Get a cheese and cracker plate and enjoy a welcomed reprieve. The staff here were very professional and accomodating for our event. They worked hand in hand with our caterers (Country Boys BBQ). This was not cheap, but worth every penny. Do not plan your wedding here. Here are some of the reasons; The venue is way overpriced. Hardly any parking and the gravel drive is right next to the grass for the ceremony. Because they are open to the public up until the wedding time, they only allow you to come on the property at 4:30 to start decorations.You can only have a 6 pm or later start time because of their hours. This made for a stressful set up and the owner was rude and condescending to us, telling us to get our decor off his table and to put something under the cake that had already been placed there and decorated.( and btw was approved beforehand) We were easy to work with and not demanding and expected to be treated respectfully, but the unprofessional customer service was extremely disappointing and actually extremely sad for me as the mother of the bride, as this put a big damper on the evening for me.. Many family members that were there to help were treated terrible and rudely. So much so that my uncle was going to buy a case or two of wine to patronize them but decided he would never patronize this place. Very disappointing to say the least. Also, the white wine we ordered(required to buy) was switched out with another white wine that we don't care for, When I asked about this the manager said, "Guests were asking for it" "it was the same price so I didn't think it was a problem". She didn't ask me if that was okay and never apologized. So we went home with 5 bottles of wine(opened) that we didn't order or want. The owner and manager treat wedding patrons as intruders and should not be in the business of weddings. A wedding can be the most important day in a couple's life, it's important to choose carefully where to spend your money and resource, don't waste it here at Silvara Vineyards. read more

Attended a wedding in mid-July at the Silvara Winery. The grounds are very nice and accommodated the outdoor wedding as well as the 100+ guests in fine fashion. Wildflowers that run from the base of the hill below the winery to the Silvara grounds added a nice touch. Open propane fire pits proved to be gathering spots for wedding goers and took a chill off the night air. Silvara Cab and Syrah that were served at the reception were excellent and garnered many favorable comments from wedding guests.
