Best thrift shop in Effingham. The staff are volunteers and they don't pressure the customers to donate. This is a town favorite.

Just so so for a resale place although prices are very low. And it's very well organized. A little bit of everything!

All the clothing is very cheap. Nice little store were you can pick up a few things you need.

This store is awesome. It funds the local pregnacy center. It has clothes toys and other stuff.

The Silk Purse is always my go-to thrift store. I've found amazing clothing options there from name brands like North Face, American Eagle, Holister and more. They have a great selection of house hold goods, books, furniture, jewelry, shoes, and so much more. Plus they have seasonal items and really cool displays. I'm a sports fan and I know they've had CUBS/CARDS gear all set up and sometimes ILLINI sections. It's a huge store and the staff are always really friendly. read more

Since their move and subsequent renovation, this has become one of the best resale shops in town. Their prices are always stellar (Who can beat $1 tops and $2 jeans?!) and their variety and selection has improved by leaps and bounds. The building is very large and clean, and they have four huge racks full of women's tops alone. Selection on shoes and slacks is a little more limited, but they also have plenty of jewelry and a whole room full of books. Plus little odds and ends like dishes, blankets, a small selection of DVDs and CDs, and a seasonal room for whatever holiday is currently approaching (check out the cheap Christmas lights starting at the beginning of December!) I find almost all my blouses for work here. Sometimes the clothing has stains or tears (obviously - it's a resale shop) but that's fine, as sometimes I'm just looking for something to wear around the house. It's also staffed mostly by volunteers and the proceeds go to the Family Life Pregnancy Center. All in all, a great store that just keeps getting better. read more

I just LOVE this store... new location on Fayette Ave., GREAT prices. I have never been disappointed when shopping at this store. I was afraid that when they moved to their new location that the prices would go up, but same great prices as before. Proceeds go to help the unborn and new moms. read more
