Last year, I was at a point of frustration with my breasts and pulled info for 2 surgeons. Two appointments were made with both surgeons and fortunately, the first appointment was scheduled with Dr. Lisa Hwang. I was nervous and anxious but I was ready for a change. After my initial consultation, Dr. Lisa Hwang who listened to my concerns/ wishes and answered all my many questions. She also presented all my options, reviewed the whole process step by step to post surgery recovery schedule and after conversing through it all, I felt confident I found my surgeon to do my boob job and scheduled surgery date a couple of weeks later. Surgery Day - I was ready! I was excited and had anxiety, too. Once Dr. Hwang walked into the room, I became calm and relieved where she started to outline my breasts for surgical prep. I had confidence in Dr Hwang's attention to detail and she truly understood what I wanted in the final results and executed it on point. Post Surgery - I will not lie that I was in discomfort, cried, struggled and hated most my restricted sleep position as part of the healing process but had to follow through on doctors instructions. Dr. Hwang was amazing. We were communicating daily via text and via the secure web platform where I uploaded breast pics, too. I felt I was in genuine care with Dr. Hwang and her responses were exactly what I needed - prompt, thoughtful, thorough and clear. I did experience a hiccup in the healing process for a breast a few weeks post surgery which is not uncommon and had to undergo a mini surgery to remedy the issue which was completed in her office. After this procedure, the healing went much more smoothly and without altering the breast aesthetic too much for it to be noticeable. It's 7 months post surgery and I'm so pleased with the final results and so is my longtime boyfriend, too! I'm so happy and in I love that my breasts have enhanced my body silhouette. I can see my waistline! Social media makes it hard to distinguish between a 'famous' surgeon and a truly skilled one. I found Dr. Roy on a random Facebook find. Despite that random start, I felt immediately comfortable with him during my first consultation. He understood my goals immediately and he explained the process and expectations clearly. Still, I worried if "comfortable" meant "the best," but after two other consultations, no one else compared. He didn't upsell me on a lip lift, full face lift or upper eye blepharoplasty, which I appreciated. So we agreed on a neck, lower face, and brow lift. For context: I'm 55 and felt my neck looked 70, even though my face passed for early 40s (I was told ;-)). I felt like I didn't need a lot of work on my face. Hence, I was scared of looking "overdone" or worse than before. Dr. Roy is incredibly skillful - I am stunned by the results. My husband even says I look younger than on our wedding day 17 years ago! The result is so natural. I just look like my old self. The team (including Christine & Alex) is genuinely kind--not just "customer service" nice. Beyond his skill, the care was personal. Dr. Roy gave us his personal cell number and responded instantly during those first few days after surgery when my husband reached out to him with concerns/questions. My advice? Follow every pre & post-op instruction. They aren't optional. The first few days are tough, and you definitely need help, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Dr. Roy is a top-tier surgeon who doesn't need a Beverly Hills office or flashy marketing to prove it. At 4:18 PM today, I received a text asking me to arrive 10 minutes early. I get off work at 5:30 PM, so I rushed through traffic, found parking, and then walked around the building trying to locate the office. Despite all of that, I arrived at approximately 5:46 PM -- one minute after my actual scheduled appointment time. When I arrived, I was told that I was "15 minutes late" and that my appointment would not be accepted. I understand businesses need policies to keep their schedules running smoothly, but asking a client to arrive early does not change a 5:45 appointment into a 5:35 appointment. If arriving by 5:35 was an absolute requirement for receiving the service, that should have been clearly communicated when the appointment was booked--not in a text at 4:18 PM the same day. What made the experience particularly disappointing was the way I was received. After rushing from work, dealing with traffic and terrible parking, and walking around outside in nearly 90-degree weather trying to find the location, I wasn't greeted warmly or even with eye contact. There seemed to be very little effort to understand what had happened or find a solution. I simply felt dismissed. I had actually been excited about coming here and had already told several of my female coworkers about your services. I was hoping this would be a place I could recommend and potentially become a returning client myself. Instead, I left feeling that a customer who arrived essentially on time for her scheduled appointment wasn't worth even a conversation. I hope management will review what happened and clarify the arrival policy for future clients. More importantly, I hope some consideration is given to how clients are received when something doesn't go perfectly according to schedule. Policies matter, but so does kindness and customer service.
