My first visit with her was the 'get established with the doc' kind of appointment. She seemed very stressed and in a huge hurry, but I figured in that profession that's bound to happen some days so I blew it off. I believe she is a PA not working directly under a physician (I may be wrong on that) and she said she could not do my pain medication. That presented a problem for me, but at least I knew. AZ is very different in health care provider laws than where I came from. At my second visit she still seemed highly tense. When I said I thought I was getting another bout of shingles she started an exam and was telling me shingles don't go away by themselves and other facts about shingles when it hit me what else it could be. So I started to tell her, she froze in her tracks, looked at me as if to bore a hole through my forehead, turned and walked out of the room leaving the door behind her swinging open. Um. What the heck? Did she suddenly have to use the restroom? I don't know. She may know her stuff, I don't know. What I do know is I certainly don't like her style, and she has a lousy bedside manor. read more

Two stars may be generous. Since Ricci is not a physician, and appears not to work closely with any physician, she is very limited in knowledge, skills, and abilities. Therefore, I would not see her for anything other than very routine visits. Ricci was a provider for my daughter when she was young. Ricci did seem to have necessary skills to address basic childhood issues (e.g. vaccinations, runny nose, etc). My daughter liked her, but Ricci had a very poor attitude towards me. She was often abrasive and became confrontational when I requested copies of my daughter's medical records, though I did eventually receive the records that I requested. I found going to Ricci was often a waste of time considering her limited skills and the fact that she normally just provided a consult to see an actual doctor. Moreover, her consults were either for physicians that I could have found on my own or preferred not to go with, so there was little benefit to her recommendations. read more

I've been a patient of Ricci's for many years, as has my partner and in fact most of our friends and colleagues in the neighborhood. She's exceptional. She has the depth of knowledge that comes from long practice and a thoughtful eye, is obviously still educating herself all the time, and has, in my experience, a no-nonsense but very, very confidence-inspiring and supportive bedside manner. We are 100% comfortable with her, and she has come through for us when we needed extra help every single time. Not one of the many friends we have recommended to her has said anything but what a great doctor she is. And I use that term intentionally: although she and her partner Molly Wheelwright are technically Physician's Assistants working under the supervision of an MD, in all the informal meanings of the word 'doctor' as commonly used, she's superlative. read more

I have been seeing Ricci Silberman for my medical issues for several years and I can not believe the negative reviews I read here. Ricci is a fantastic PA (and she does work under a doctor). She has always been super professional and super sharp. No matter what medical issue I have seen her for, she is always on top of things, full of great medical info and advice and she has always dealt with whatever my health problem is thoroughly and to my satisfaction, always taking her time with me and making me feel comfortable and giving me the best healthcare I could ask for, and if I need to see a specialist, she always sends me to other great medical experts. Once more, I find Ricci to be warm and caring. In fact, she makes me feel like she truly cares about my well-being and that's because I believe she really does care about all of her patients. I should also mention that her staff are also very warm and professional and I love the Cushing Street building itself, a very relaxed and friendly environment. Lastly I want to mention that my partner and two of my friends also see Ricci and they love her just as much as I do. read more
