NO SHOW FOR MY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT!!! I had an appointment for radiant floor boiler maintenance Thursday afternoon. Signature sent TWO messages, 10:20 & 12:15, confirming I was on their schedule that day and letting me know I would be updated. I removed all the manifold panels for access and waited for the technician. But nobody came, nobody called, nobody replied. I called Friday and they said the confirmations were just AI messages, nobody was actually on schedule to do work. read more

I am considering installing air conditioning system and possibly a new heater. Serious $$. At Costco, I spoke with the Signature Rep, but they had no interest in answering general questions, only collecting contact information or scheduling an appointment. I was a little frustrated over this mannerism. This makes me feel as if Signature has no interest other than selling to the next customer with no feedback loop. If this is not the intention, the system needs some work, as I did not plan on posting my thoughts here on Yelp. This is about work done by JP Plumery (who is now part of Signature Heating and Cooling) in October 2024. I had them install a new Carrier heat pump ($18K+) to replace a broken evaporative cooler/ancient furnace. The furnace was located in a second-floor closet, so that's where they installed the air handler (and coil), both installed vertically. Unbeknownst to me, a city permit was required for this work, which was NOT obtained by JP Plumery. Had a permit been obtained along with the city inspection, NONE of these problems would have occurred. 1. They did not correct the air intake to handle a 4-ton heat pump (which they oversized - my house is only 1800 sq ft). They claimed a 20"x20" intake was completely fine for this system. Nope. It required a minimum of 1680 cfm air flow; a 20"x20" only provided 840 CFM. 2. The condensate drain they installed was completely incorrect - it had a long horizontal pipe immediately after the handler drain instead of a 5" long P trap to prevent the negative pressure from the air handler from sucking condensate back into the air handler (see photo with accompanying condensate inside the air handler). 3. The air handler was not installed 'square' onto the ductwork supplying the house (see photo). 4. They did not install an automatic shut-off required by city code to turn the unit off if the condensate pump pan overflowed and water backed up into the air handler. This caused flooding in the second-floor closet that leaked into the first-floor ceiling. Once this leak occurred in late July 2026 (and it had been going on for a while, just not noticed because it hadn't leaked through the ceiling yet), I called JP only to be connected to Signature Heating and Cooling. The air handler was full of water. The tech from Signature diagnosed inadequate air intake or a potential refrigerant leak causing the problem (the air was plenty cold coming out of the registers). When I asked why JP did not install the correct air intake, all I got was crickets. So I contacted the BBB and all of a sudden, they want to come out and 'take another look.' Same tech from Signature came out and denied that inadequate air intake was the problem and instead added more refrigerant, which made the condensation worse. For both of these visits, I was not given any objective measurements or photos taken by techs from Signature Heating and Cooling. So I had two other HVAC companies come out to see what was going on. Both diagnosed the problem as an inadequate air intake and an improperly installed condensate drain with no automatic shut-off. I had both problems corrected and, what do you know, the problem was solved. All this during our 100-degree heat in August 2026. I went back to Signature Heating and Cooling/JP Plumery for reimbursement for the work I had to have done to correct their mistakes. All they have done is deny deny deny and will not take accountability for their mistakes. Now I have to have the city come out (at my additional expense) to retroactively issue a permit. The BBB was absolutely no help, so I've contacted the CID for New Mexico and will write reviews where-ever I can to warn you all about these merged companies. DO NOT do business with them. See my other reviews for who I recommend. JP can reply to this all he wants, but he knows what was done; and Signature Heating and Cooling is equally as responsible as their new partner. It's funny, all they had to do was reimburse me $2500. Now I have a file a claim in court. These ridiculous claims by 'Sky' below are not true whatsoever. 'Multiple' visits (how about 2 - one that I paid almost $400 for), ZERO diagnostics for the second visit that was done to cover their butts/backtracking on the first visit that indicated incorrect air return, refusal to provide objective numbers and readings for both visits, refusal to be accountable for their partner's botched installation, and flat-out lies regarding what they have said and done. We all know that companies like this one PAY the BBB through which I got no-where regarding my complaints and demands for explanations. Two other HVAC companies backed up what I've written here, along with the city inspector (who I had to pay for a valid permit when it was the responsibility of JP/Signature). I stand by my review and my photos do not lie. I also found out that they botched an installation at the New Mexico Center for Rheumatology that the city is now involved with. They have NO idea what they're doing. Again DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company. read more

Buyer BEWARE. I hired signature to replace my heating and cooling in March of this year. Unfortunately it has been very problematic from the start. Each technician blames the installer or the technician who came before and claims to have fixed it. Management finally came out and told me that the wrong equipment had been installed and they would make it right. Then they proceeded to ignore my emails and dodge my phone calls. It's now October and after limping through the first 6 months of my new Heating and AC I'm worried about whether the heater will make it through the winter. Take your business elsewhere if you want it done right. Signature, if you're reading this, please stop ignoring my calls and emails. read more

Our heat went out the early morning of December 31st and I was really worried we wouldn't be able to get it fixed before new year's without paying an arm and a leg. Signature was fantastic! They got us on the schedule the same day and the tech called as he was on his way. Best of all they fixed it for a minimal cost. I was really impressed that Signature charges by the job and not hourly. This allowed our tech, Cody, to take his time and look over the system thoroughly. Cody was amazing, I can't say enough about him! In addition to fixing the communication issue that had shut the system down - he cleaned the system, took pictures of the inside, even looked over the water heater and fuse box. Then he spent almost an hour explaining everything he had found in layman's terms. This was very valuable to me as a detail-oriented nerd! I feel like I have a much better understanding of how my system works, what I need to watch out for in the future, and services/maintenance that can help the system run longer without replacement. (my system is 11 years old) Also what it might cost me if something were to fail again or I do need to replace the system. Cody is truly a gem. An expert at his craft, friendly, kind, and respectful to boot. I was so happy when he told me if we needed future service that Signature would send him out again. They charge more than other companies. When we tried to cancel the order plus the maintenance/warranty, we got many people calling and asking why. We repeatedly had to call and demand our $20,000 back AND I had to report them to my credit card company. It also seems like they randomly issue prices (when I called several times to inquire prices, none were ever what we were charged--with their warranty/maintenance and their discount. We also did not get a discount for our HVAC inspections when we ordered two new ones from them. read more

My very old shower (house was built in 1950) started dripping continuously so I called a plumber who was recommended by a friend -- they couldn't see me for 10 days. The dripping became a steady stream that couldn't be turned off a couple of days later so I decided to call Signature (from hearing commercials on KHFM). Bella was very kind and showed great empathy and understanding; she arranged for Steve Olson to come and evaluate the issue that same evening. Steve was great. He was able to see what was needed and he called the office (after hours) and was able to get Max Fort scheduled to do the work the next morning. Max did an excellent job. Instead of capping the lines and taking the parts to look for replacements, he saved time by going directly to the supplies store and quickly finding the necessary parts. I was worried that the parts would not be available since the shower was so old but he had no trouble finding them. He turned off the water and also the water heater while he was working as it had been hot water coming out. I really appreciate his conscientiousness. He fixed the shower and also replaced the hardware in the other shower per my request to avoid the same problem in the future. He had to go get a tool and different parts for the other shower but did so efficiently. I really appreciate him getting this done so I can avoid an urgent issue in the future. Max and Steve were both great at explaining what was going on. I really appreciate the competence and timeliness of the team in addressing a fairly urgent issue that appeared to be getting worse with time. And the price was very reasonable. We're having a new heating and cooling system installed with removal of the old. The greatest excitement came with the crane used to lower the unit into the garden. The men vacuumed up their mess and gave clear instructions on care and feeding, etc. I quite enjoyed the experience and plan to repeat on the other end of the house. read more

The technicians are great, but they are horrible for communication and scheduling. Also 5 years ago I had an expensive heat and cooling system installed and they didn't install a surge protector on the unit that sits on top of the house. So it did some damage from electrical or lightning surge and I had to pay for despite their warranty. I guess thst isn't much good either. read more

We had a new air conditioner and furnace installed 3 weeks ago for around $14,000. We chose Signature based on their pitch that their service and follow up was superior. The initial install went OK, even though it did take three days to finish the job because they could not figure out how to get the unit working. Three weeks later and the unit is not working again. We called them and we keep being told someone will be here at a certain time and they don't show. This happed three times yesterday.....stayed home all day waiting for them. Then they called and said they would be here at 8:00 am. No show again. We should have gone with the smaller local company. Lots of regret. Update: the gentleman that finally came did a great job but apparently the people that did the initial install did not set everything up properly. read more

I have been a loyal customer of JP Plumbing for years, and writing this review is honestly difficult for me. JP was introduced to me through a mutual friend, and he has always been a respected member of the cycling community with a strong commitment to local service and the community overall. I truly do not wish anything negative toward him or his business. In July 2024, JP's team replaced my HVAC system at a cost of approximately $16,000. Unfortunately, the system has experienced one issue after another, despite not even being two years old yet. Before the Signature takeover, the JP Plumbing team was responsive, professional, and worked hard to make things right through multiple service visits and the replacement of additional parts when needed. However, since Signature took over, my experience has changed dramatically. Last summer and again this week, my air conditioner either stopped working entirely or failed to cool properly. I made every effort to work through the Signature system and even left multiple requests asking for JP to return my calls, but I never received a response. In addition, I have found the Signature staff to be largely unresponsive and, more often than not, rude in their interactions. That has only added to the frustration of dealing with an HVAC system that continues to have ongoing problems. Ultimately, I had no choice but to contact another HVAC company for help. Unfortunately, the issues still are not fully resolved, and now I'm faced with the possibility of starting over with a completely different company to maintain and service a system that is still relatively new. I hate leaving a negative review because of the long-standing trust and loyalty I felt toward JP Plumbing, but my experiences since the transition to Signature have been exceedingly disappointing. Tech came out and gave written estimate as requested however he failed to understand that my swamp cooler wasn't working properly even though I had him stand under a main vent. He did not test the speed from inside either. So I ended up paying $130 for nothing but an estimate to replace entire unit. No diagnostic as to why cooler output was so low. Need new motor? Outrageous charge for a 30 minute mechanical assessment and A/C capacitor replacement. Tech spent 'diagnosis' time looking at things like my indoor thermostat, and listening to the running A/C unit. Charged $800 for the service visit and replacement of what was probably a new $50 capacitor. But . . . the invoice specifically mentioned that the tech arrived in a "fully stocked" vehicle! I couldn't make this up!! read more

Update: So they came back to move the unit away from my baby's window and that seemed to go okay, they made everything look nice and did the move for free. BUT, they needed to use our hose for something and did so without asking.. I went to go use our hose after they left ( two hour later than they said they'd be done) and they swapped out our hose for one much shorter, again without saying anything! It cant reach my what I use it for now.. I called the office and they said they call back but haven't yet. The lack of communication is so annoying! Would not recommend. read more
