However, because this was my first time working with them, and because I required an unusual and critical image size, I elected to drop off my image file in person. At that time I discussed my "vision" and expectations for the final image with one of the partners. Though I was ordering only a single print my questions were addressed and I felt valued as a customer. The "meeting" wasn't long, but I wasn't made to feel rushed. I left feeling confident that I'd found a collaborator rather than a vendor. Upon inspection, the print itself is exactly what I hoped for. Working with a local printer -- a partner in the final product -- definitely paid off. Will repeat.

I haven't had a ton of projects printed here, but there have been multiple times now that I've received the wrong quantity of prints. A careful review of printing specs would be much appreciated. Also, you are charged $30 for a printed proof, which can get pricey if you are doing a small project with multiple rounds of revisions, but I stress that seeing a printed proof is important! I reviewed a two sided card at Bryant and decided to make some changes on the front; when I picked up the final, all of the images on the back were completely blown out. I was told that's what it looked like on the first proof but when I went home to review, the images were perfect on the first proof. Hopefully I will have better luck in the future.

It was a massive and emotional effort, but I'm determined to get my media to a manageable and enjoyable level. I've been overwhelmed instead of inspired, by virtue of the fact that I was buried under way, way too many photos. Plus, I love prints. I love the look and feel of prints in my hand, and I want to start compiling albums of all the beautiful photos I've taken in the last ten years. To that end, I sent a round of photos to a few different printers to compare, before I commit to the full-scale project. Well, my WHCC prints arrived today and I am speechless. There is no comparison between their work and "the other guys." The quality, the colors, the finish and luster...I am absolutely over the moon. I cannot wait to send more in and now I am incredibly excited about this project. And perhaps more importantly, now I'm inspired to go shoot again. WHCC - whatever you're doing up there is magic. I received a prompt reply asking for more specifics. Initial communications were good, but then my department received new mandates about the materials we needed so I went to follow up with The Print Shop liaison, Chuck. In my email to them, I gave more specific information and needed an updated quote to take back to management for approval. No reply from them for a week now. I don't know what happened, but they went from same day answers to the cold shoulder after we submitted the additional information with the request for an updated quote. We decided today not to go forward with The Print Shop for our printing needs.
