Hi! I am a former student from Rogich who is now homeschooled. I am going to tell you about my experience here from grade. I am currently in 7th grade. 6th grade: Pretty fun and cool, I was in the bowling and theater club. Almost all of my teachers were very nice to me, but my math teacher at that time made me feel dumb. I won't be able to say the name for certain reasons, but this teacher would sort-of embarass me in front of everyone in the class and would make rude comments about me. There was this one time where I was trying to retake a math test. But as I was working, this teacher said " Hurry up, Charlie. I want to go home." Their tone in the comment made me feel stupid, rushed, and stressed out. 7th grade: Horrible in most ways. I was in the bowling club, and the teachers I had were still nice. But most of the kids there were very annoying, troublemaking, and loud. The overwhelming crowds and bad influences from most of the students made me feel very uncomfortable to the point where I had to get homeschooled after spring break. To any student who is wondering where I am, I'm homeschooled at home and can still come to after school programs/events. However, the principal, staff, and most of my teachers were very kind to me. The electives I had in 7th grade, which was beginning orchestra and student aids, were the best electives ever in my opinion. If you are about to be a 7th or 8th grader, I recommend you choose student aids because you can help a teacher of your choice and have lots of fun and free time to work on unfinished assignments. Rogich is a mid school they have great teachers and good classes and they prioritize learning but... They are getting rid of foreign languages and they are not prioritizing other electives. They don't care about bullying problems unless you go through Safevoice, and they usually just give you a No contact contract. Counselors never email back or change your schedule unless you relentless bug them. Rogich also sometimes can be unsanitary or have crazy rules! read more

PATHETIC. It is a disgrace -- both the administration and the teachers! The problem starts at the top. The principal is terrible! I've had several major issues, and nobody cares. Be very careful. They'll tell you they'll handle it, but they don't. Go in person straight to the district. They don't deserve to be paid with our tax dollars. If we want change, we have to make it happen. Your kids can be bullied by students and staff! DO NOT TRUST THEM in any aspect. Kids are not treated equally, they are called names by staff, yelled at, disrespected, and intimidated. You can complain to the assistant principal or principal all you want, it's a waste of time. They all cover for each other. It's time to expose them. Parents, do not normalize your kids being mistreated. Regardless of their mistakes, they are there to learn. They don't have good role models there. We don't need people like that educating our children. Yes, let's do our job at home but they also need to do their job right! We don't need to beg begging for them to do just the bare minimum! Go to 5100 W Sahara Ave and ask for an appointment with the superintendent directly, not his secretary. Do not give up! our kids are the most important and deserve to go to school happy. Let's make sure the 6-7 hours they spend there are with the right people guiding them. Imagine if a child isn't treated right at home and school, where can they go to feel safe or find someone to trust ? Come on, parents, let's do our job and get them removed and replaced. read more

Also, I'd like to add something important to my last review about Mrs. Arai -- because to this day, it still pisses me off. Look, I'll be the first to admit it: I suck at math. I've always struggled with it, and even now, it's still not my thing. I'm not good at it, and I probably never will be. But just because someone struggles with a subject doesn't mean they deserve to be humiliated. Back in her class, I sat next to this girl who -- for some reason doesn't like me at all. and from what I remember, I think Mrs. Arai thought I was cheating off her. Just to be clear, I wasn't. I would never cheat. I might be bad at math, but I always try to do things honestly. And even if I was cheating, which again, I wasn't -- there's a way to handle that kind of situation professionally and with basic human decency. But no. Instead of pulling the girl aside privately and asking her if I was copying -- like any decent teacher would -- Mrs. Arai did the unthinkable. In front of the entire class, in dead silence, she looked straight at the girl and asked out loud: "Is she copying off of you?" I'll never forget how humiliated I felt in that moment. and then the girl, who whatever reason hates me, said "Yeah." Just like that. Like it meant nothing. Like it wasn't my entire reputation, my self-worth, and my dignity being put on trial in front of 30 other kids. I was stunned. Embarrassed. Angry. And worst of all, I felt completely alone. Mrs. Arai didn't ask me if I had anything to say. She didn't give me a chance to explain. She didn't care. It was like she already made up her mind -- like she was waiting for a reason to call me out. To this day, that moment still stings. Not just because of the accusation -- but because of how she handled it. It was unprofessional, immature, and flat-out cruel. Teachers are supposed to support students, especially the ones who struggle. But instead, she used her power to embarrass me and tear me down. I've had some tough experiences in school, but that moment? That one stuck with me. It sort of changed me more than how I was. After that, I started to feel insecure -- not just about math, but about myself. About speaking up. About being seen. I carried that moment with me through the rest of middle school, and honestly, even now it lingers. Call me dramatic, say I'm just overreacting. I don't care, this is my story on how I was treated at this school. If I ever saw Mrs. Arai again -- which I probably won't -- just know this: I will never forgive you. I'll never forget how you made me feel in 6th grade. Like I didn't matter. Like I didn't deserve to be heard. You humiliated me in front of everyone and never looked back. You have no idea how much damage that moment caused. It wasn't just embarrassing -- it changed the way I saw myself. You made me feel small, like I was dumb and didn't belong. And you did it so casually, without care. I stayed quiet in school, not because I had nothing to say, but because I was scared it would be used against me. You created that fear. Teachers are meant to guide and support, not tear students down. But that's exactly what you did. And the worst part? I'm sure you don't even remember it. But I do. I always will. So no, I don't forgive you. Because it mattered. And it still does. But despite everything, I've grown. Slowly. Painfully. But I've grown. I'm learning to speak up. To stand tall -- even when it's hard. Especially when it's hard. Because I deserved better. Every student does. And now, I'm finally starting to believe that. To the students who had Mrs. Arai and had a better experience than I did -- that's great. I truly hope you were treated with the respect and support every student deserves. But just because your experience was different doesn't erase mine. It doesn't change what happened to me or how it made me feel. This is my story. My truth. And for the first time, I'm not going to hide it or shrink myself to make others more comfortable. Because I'm done carrying the silence that was forced on me. Sig Rogich is something as a student in my first year I loved it ! Year also found creating things that I'm not sure about. The teachers are amazing ! But one thing about the electives and clubs is that they prioritize and talk more about sports than they do on the arts which I'm as artistic as it gets and I feel they don't get enough credit the art class got one gallery walk while choir, band and orchestra got multiple concerts. I also was part of theatre and they barely ever talked about it and acted as if it was a club when we showed up EVERY DAY. The way schedules and P.E works doesn't make sense to me but overall it depends on your values and goals! read more

hello i am an actual student here and i came to say that this school sucks sure on first glance it may look nice. the principal may look like a nice 70 year old grandma but no she is so mean and rude to her students the other day she yelled super loudly at some students and im still surprised that she could yell considering that she looks like a 120 year old. I broke my chromebook accidentally and they charged me the $400 dollars for the Chromebook when it was an easy repair and a acer c721 chromebook (which was the chromebook I broke) only just $100 new in 2025. not to mention that the school is so greedy they are constantly raising money for the school like i remember they held this fundraiser for $25,000. and that was 2 months ago and now they are raising even more money. its either they are super greedy are they just blow through money that fast. read more

(student of sig Rogich currently) I've been going to this school since last year, I'm now a 7th grader. If I'm being honest, it's very difficult to find teachers who actually care about you and your feelings, sure, they care about your academic progress but that's it. School lunch, probably the worst ever, and they charge you $2.30 for a second lunch, what if someone got their lunch taken? What would you do then? Just make them buy a lunch they should've got for free. Along with lanyards, we weren't told last year that we had to wear a lanyard with our grade rank and our student ID's, I find it absolutely stupid. Because I don't remember it being hard to search up students in their computers and looking at their profile picture for their display, it's generally all useless, then they send you to detention or lunch detention if you don't have it. Same with phones or headphones, all of those things are taken away if they see the outline of it from your pocket or hoodie, they literally compensate something that has done literally nothing to them. How do you expect a phone to be dangerous to a kid? Sure, I understand that phone's are a distraction and are usually the downfall of some kids grades (like me, but I've learned self control, sorta) but I don't remember phones being dangerous in anyway. Apparently, parents or guardians of the child are the only people who can pick up the items, WHAT IF THE CHILD HAS PARENTS WHO DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT?! I believe it would be easier if they just gave the child their phone back after school, it's stupid. Another thing to add, bullying and harassment, during 6th grade, I have been touched in a way I was not comfortable away. The kids here are not LGBTQ friendly AT ALL and neither are they with ethnicity, many kids who are not the correct race are constantly saying racial slurs and saying racist jokes. It's not funny at all, and neither is it enjoyable. Finally, I just have a small praise for a teacher. Thank you Aaron Robinson for being the only teacher I can go to without feeling like I'm going to get judged heavily, best band teacher I've met so far. (Coming from a kid in both Intermediate and Jazz Band, flute and piccolo) but yeah, parents, please don't ever bring your kids to this school. Honestly since I said my last review this school has gone more downhill, ccsd rated this a 5 start school only bc of the grades and way of teaching but to be honest this school hasn't come close to a five star school. Since I have joined this school there has a least been 6 different fights and a kid trying to touch other girls literally being a child toucher. And the lunch system is way different we now have alll 3 grades in 3 different lunches a lot of us want the old way back plus they don't even let us inside when some of us are literally gonna pass out from the heat and I'm not saying this to be dramatic. I can't really be talking cuz I have it first period this year(I did not choose it) but last year a kid passed out from The heat. This school already has a bad reputation for students the only reason I'm staying is bc it has Japanese class and Filipino club(I'm Filipino and I js go bc we don't do anything in that club we js be big backs) but honestly I think this school has gotten worse over the years and that's words from my friend in 8th grade read more

Learned from experience... the place is infested with locusts, pigeons, ants , and mice. School dances are lame. You get an average of 20 emails a day. (That doesn't even concern your child) Staff are mean for no good reason . Finally, they don't allow parents to drop off things to their children. Lunches, Chrome-books, etc. The only good thing about this place is it's sports. Any other reason, just got Fertieta or Faith Lutheran. read more

This school is trash. I only knew a few good teachers which were great teachers but tbh all their rules are really trash. You get to put your stuff in a locker which is nice but if you were to bring your backpack into class it'd be like you just dropped an explosive and detonated it.. also a stupid rule where you can't have a hydroflask because it's not a "clear bottle", the hallways are filled with people swearing and cussing, the lunch's are boring. Trash and littering is common, classes don't teach and only assign work, 15% teaching, and 85% homework. I'm not the best student but that's not good when you pair it with a horrible teacher, my 6th grade classes like science and English were wonderful, but 7th grade, well I'm in 7th rn and I don't wanna say anything about that right now for reasons If a teacher sees this. I have lockers in the 700s hall and then a class in The 200s hall, and then I have to carry a bunch of things from and to. You would think I was in the army lugging around ammunition boxes back and forth. I hate this school and I advise parents to pull their kids out of this school and or don't let your kids come here. It's like every school but worse. Even in the PE Classes in 60* weather they force you to wear shorts and a t shirt. The only way to get around it is to wear pants under that, and it's not easy to do sports in 2 layers of clothing. Easily giving some people a cold. They also have a stupid rule where you can't drop things off in the middle of the day to your kids if they forget something. And in my English class some kid put his head down because he was clearly tired got in huge trouble because he had his head down for like 20 seconds. This school is horrible and trash. read more

DONT GO HERE. I sent my child here and based off what I heard from her awful experiences I knew that this was the wrong place to send my beloved little Timmy. This "school" should be renamed as "Mrs.Harrison's torture chamber". My poor little boy was bullied so badly we had to get him therapy. All he did was ask the other kids if they wanted to pick their boogers together. He skipped first grade so he's still learning, however the teachers took no action to stop bullying. If you're thinking of going to Rogich, please "consider the following" (Bill Nye). Sorry I know that wasn't funny whatsoever... *Note: This is mainly for girls that are going/already attend here.* Before I actually begin, I just wanna say the education here (besides science) is very good, I must say. I've learned a lot in math and english and I definitely understand it very well. That also goes for my elective which I will be keeping private because it's not illegal. So to begin, there are SO many bratty, spoiled girls that attend here who are just willing to make your life miserable. It's honestly really sad. Girls will bully you here for the stupidest things and it sucks! If you don't hang out with an at least semi-popular clique, you're considered an "outcast" or a "weirdo". Especially if you're not as skinny, pretty, and rich as them. And in PE, if you don't know how to play a sport that you've never even heard of in your life before, you're all of a sudden "useless" to the pick me girls. But if you're a popular kid, "omg girly pop you're doing so good, slay queen!" It sucks here man. If you don't care what people think, then maybe this school is for you. But coming from a female who attends here, I know most pre-teen/teenage girls do. It's genuinely tiring how much I see people get put down for not being "cool", "pretty", "skinny", and "popular" enough. [Not all, but most of] the guys here don't make it any better. Especially the 'popular' ones. They break girls hearts for not fitting the standard x10. I feel horrible for all these kind girls who have a heart of gold that these rude guys just crush them like that. Yes, being in a relationship in middle school is a bit outrageous to some people, but to most of the people at this school, you have to be with someone in order to be "cool". Aka peer pressure. You may be thinking, just don't listen to them? The thing about that is that it's not that simple. In leadership (a class I'm doing because I'm in sixth that's like required or something) basically you learn about not taking drugs and alcohol and stuff like that and not letting "peer pressure" take over you to do so. But that isn't really what we should learn. Everyone knows not to do that, I definitely do not expect anyone---even the dumb popular kids---to take drugs, smoke, or do something illegal like that. What should really be taught here is how to prevent bullying. Tell a teacher? What are they gonna do? All the popular kids are either the staff's favorites, or they (the teachers) just don't care at all. This needs to come to a stop. I know this may seem a bit "over dramatic" and "ridiculous" but it's really just reality. And it sucks. But hey! If you gotta lot of friends, are ridiculously pretty, sporty, rich as heck, and all of the above, this school is a great place for you. Susan Harrison-Rollins should not be the principle of this school! She doesn't care about your child's best interest and will force her decision upon you. A CCSD counselor advised us to meet with the principle so we can discuss my son and his options. Shortly after I reached out to the school for a meeting she had an assistant call me with her decision prior to even meeting! After continued calls and messages from us she finally agreed to a zoom meeting where she didn't listen, already made up her mind prior and continued to roll her eyes while we were discussing my sons future. She didn't care about our concerns and forced her way upon us. We have decided to leave her school because we don't trust that Susan Harrison has our childs best interest in mind. We highly recommend the Charter schools and Private schools nearby as an alternative. read more

(Made by a student at Sig Rogich) So I have just finished the first week of school at, "Sig Rogich Middle School." On the 3rd day of school there was an incident in the physical education locker room where kids were pulling down eachothers pants & underwear exposing their private parts. However, the administration did absolutely nothing. Also on that same day (THE 3RD DAY OF SCHOOL) we already had been assigned two projects. For me they took around 3 hours (each) to complete. However, one thing I like about this school is the food. The food is pretty good compared to most other schools I have been to. There is actually food that the school makes, instead of the horrible mystery meat hamburgers. I just think this school needs to start caring more about their students. I read an article on this school and they were saying that there have been many suicides and attempted suicides because of overload of homework, bullying, etc. For me school isn't very fun because all we do is sit in their uncomfortable seats. After getting up when class is over my back ends up hurting because of how hard the seats are. Then there is the passing period, we only get 4 minutes to get to our next class, it doesn't seem bad but there is also a lot of traffic in the hallways, and most of my classes are extremely far apart. Also there are one way hallways, so if you accidentally walk past your class or your locker you have to go ALL THE WAY back around. Well this is my opinion on the current state of Sig Rogich, parents beware. read more

I went to this school for the full three years and am just now going to high school. It seemed each year this school kept on getting worse and worse. First, shooting threats, vandalism, graffiti. Second, the staff wasn't the best. The principal is getting a little too old for her job, but she tries. A lot of the teachers are just not fun to be around, but there are teachers that I am so grateful I had such as Mrs. Arai, Mrs. LaRoche just to name a few. Electives are decent, but for any kid that wants to participate in any sports. DO SO. Very good coach and the experience is worth it read more

I am a student here and it is a amazing school. The teachers ae great and give really fun work for example this review is a journal entry and i am doing this in class. The deans are nice and the principal is really sweet. The electives here are great, the band here is really good and yes i am in it but it is still really good. The students are extremely nice and there is never bullying here. When I am going to high school i am going to be extremely upset. So if you are wondering on a amazing school for your child to go to I would definitely recommend this one. read more
