Our family of 10 had a tremendous experience at this rental. You are in the heart of the Village and quick walk to the beach. You have your own pool, full kitchen, elevator, family room, and a covered porch by the pool for gathering. The unit was spotless and if there is an issue, they respond immediately. Now for the expense vs value. Is the unit expensive, yes it is. But the value you get outweighs the expense. Most people reading reviews, like us are not rich. The cost when you compare renting 4 hotel rooms in this great location makes more sense. Add to that you have a full kitchen, gas grill, and washer dryer and the value starts to greatly exceed the expense. As Grand Parents having everyone together on vacation takes the value of this property off the charts. Add to that the two people we had contact with at this company, Tim and Ken were absolutely great. They could have not been more accommodating and genuinely concerned that we had a top notch experience. The value you get from this rental is way more than worth it. I would Highly recommend to anyone wanting to bond with their family on a vacation. I forgot to mention we are from Buffalo NY, and the weather here didn't suck !!!

This was our first time staying while under The Cottages on the Key management. It was even better than our previous visits. The management company checked in with us almost daily. The house was super clean and had everything we could possibly need. The pool was cleaned TWICE a week, so it was constantly clean. Love this house, but the management company made it even more enjoyable this time. Loved that we didn't have to wash towels upon our exit. Beautiful home, great location, wonderful customer service! Thank you for a great vacation wtih my kids!

This year, my 2 year old daughter…read morecame with us, which makes her a 4th generation family member to have experienced Siesta Key and the Island House in 60+ years now. We had a fantastic time. Nothing much has changed about the place and I mean that in a good way. Hopefully she'll pass on the tradition and bring her children here someday. We only live 3 hours away in Gainesville, so Sarasota is always a car ride away, but every time we have to leave Siesta Key and the Island House, it always seems to take a while for us to stop missing the experience and the overall joy we feel when we stay there. No other beach or place in Florida seems to create that sort of feeling for us. Can't wait until our stay next year! Hopefully the pool table will be back! ;)

COCKROACHES We had…read morestayed here in 2022 with no issues, we loved the place! But when we came back in 2023, apparently under new management, on our second night we found 5 cockroaches starting at about 10 pm. We killed three, and they just kept coming. Jill, the property manager, was not at all concerned, and said they were palmetto bugs, and that those are not cockroaches. Surprise, they absolutely ARE a type of roach. She also claimed they come in through doors from outside as you open them, but we did not open any outside facing doors between finding the first roach and leaving for the night. They were located mostly in the bathrooms and under the dishwasher, pretty clearly coming from drains and water lines. Jill kept doubling down on this just being a thing in Florida, and there's nothing to be done about it, but we have stayed in probably 50 different places in Florida over 30 years and NEVER had a problem, let alone one this bad. The front desk attendant in the morning was very helpful in getting us moved to a new villa, and made us feel heard and like this is a problem worth being upset about. Unfortunately, in the new villa, we had the exact same problem. About 8 pm, there were two roaches in the shower trying to get out from the glass door, so I firmly believe this is an issue across the entire resort. To top it all off, there were termite droppings in both units as well. That wouldn't have affected our day-to-day experience as much, but just goes to show the lack of care taken with this new management. Jill, do better.

It's located in Sarasota's arts district, in close proximity of the city's best theater, arts, beaches and 10 minutes from the airport. The location was great were able to walk to restaurants, theaters, the farmers market, and parks. There is a full-service restaurant, spa, and a spectacular rooftop incorporating a large pool, ample deck space, lounge area with fire features, a bar and food services with views of Sarasota Bay that many say has the best sunsets in all of Florida. We stayed at the Westin in Sarasota for three nights. We valeted our car and tried to check in at 2:30. Maria at the front desk told us it would be a few minutes and we can sit in the lobby and wait. We opted to wear a bracelet and go up to the pretty rooftop. An hour later, we waited on the check in line again and were told that our room would not be ready until 4 o'clock. At 3:40 we received a text that our room was ready. Our Suite #1804 was impressive. We had a balcony overlooking the marina & city, a sitting area, a wet bar and a spacious bathroom. Our room was equipped with two large screen televisions, a Keurig at the wet bar, a king size signature heavenly bed, floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views, a safe, a desk, magnifying mirror ... The gym had cardio & strength training machines as well as free weights. Headphones, towels and water were provided. The 19th floor rooftop pool had lots of seating and a full bar restaurant. Our delicious complementary breakfast buffet was served in the lobby restaurant. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop one evening and watch the sunset. The beautiful spa on 3 had availability for facials, manicures & massages. Shuttle service could take us to Lido Beach, Saint Armands Key, the airport or downtown.

The owner has it fully engineered with 3 ceiling fans, USB ports, storage everywhere, kitchen with all dish-ware, 2 TV's, plus all the little items you may have forgotten to bring. Well thought out for many little conveniences. Bonus, it is only a 7 minute walk to the village where there are many shops, restaurants, etc., but little parking available day or night. We walked to the Summer House and the Cottage and recommend both.
