Ed was incredibly easy to work with. I sent in a request for a quote and got the quote back within an hour or two. The quote was overall quite a bit less than the other company (a bit more on the way there, but way less on the return trip). Ed gave me his personal contact info, gave clear directions on how to meet the car and sent a payment link. Easy Breezy! You know what's not easy breezy? A full-on rainstorm that is showing flooding in the airport on the news! That happened, so when our flight pushed to the next day, I quickly texted Ed with an update. He said it was no problem which was a weight lifted. And then when our flight time kept pushing back, I kept him updated and that was no problem as well. I would 100% recommend Tahoe Checker Taxi and when we return to the Reno area and need transport to Tahoe we will absolutely use them again.

there were no ubers available so we tried out this taxi company that had been recommended to us-…read morethe did come quick, however the car didn't have any sort of "tahoe taxi" logos or anything on it, the business cards inside were labeled "lake taxi" (red flag number 1) which i'm not sure if they've changed their name or something, suspicious but whatever... we needed the taxi to go from our hotel to the ski resort we're using, which from here to there is exactly 2miles (a literal 7 minute drive) when we got in the car, the driver immediately turned his meter off (red flag number 2) and didn't turn his map on and told us that there was super bad traffic on the drive, so he was going to have to go around the lake & town to get us there (red flag number 3) we opened our maps app and quickly discovered that WASNT true in the slightest, and told him to turn on his map and follow the directions because there was absolutely no traffic like he had told us... we then get to our destination , exactly as we should've (because there was none of the "horrible traffic" or complications he had told us there were) and he told us it was $40!!! for a 7 minute drive!! and since he had turned his meter off as soon as we got in the car, we had no way to check the meter or anything! we paid and then he had the audacity to ask us for a tip as if he hadn't just charged us a ridiculous price for a literal 2 mile drive..... I would give 0 stars if I could, the business gives utmost scam vibes!! horrible and unprofessional, trying to lie to us that we have to go around the whole town, probably to try and charge us even more than he did, since we clearly are not from this area- probably hoping we would let it slide and not check the maps ourselves save yourself from being overcharged and lied to and find a different company. Every detail was planned to perfection: from having the house stocked with groceries before we arrived, to lunch vouchers on the mountain so that my clients could be on their own schedule if they wanted to, Mel thought of everything and executed with perfection. She even gave the trip a personal touch by leaving us homemade cookies (although I wouldn't expect that for every trip she plans! :) ) which was incredibly thoughtful.
