IMHO John warmly greeted us as we entered. We were searching for Yosemite tee shirts, and John showed the way! This store is jam-packed with any type of Sierra souvenir you could possibly want. I enjoyed walking around the whole store, admiring all the cool clothes, wall art, jewelry, hats, boots, etc. My hubby found a shirt, but my shirt of choice wasn't available in my size, darn it. I found some super cool handmade rattle snake earrings that are perfect for festival season. Great selection on imported hemp handbags with cute designs. The woman behind the counter was very helpful and friendly and I took quite a long time picking out all kinds of things to remind me of our wonderful vacation in Yosemite and Bass Lake. i love this place. When me and that family were rapping up our trip to Yosemite we stopped this place to check out what they had and maybe to get some souvenir. I was pretty amazed that they had a huge selection of cloths and souvenir. it was like a one stop shop. Kathy one the original owner's was so nice and helpful. I didn't realize that they had a huge section of concealed carry hand bags. Which i wanted to get for the wife. Good quality and great prices all around. The bags were made by Jessie James. Awesome store No need to drive to Fresno check out Sierra Mercantile the ladies that own the store are very helpful as well as funny there so sweet they help me pick out an outfit with matching beautiful jewelry which by the way they make a lot of it. they take the time to spend with you they don't push you to buy anything and it's actually quite fun they make you feel so special. They have Yosemite souvenirs so much cheaper than in Yosemite lots of Tshirts sweatshirts and misc. they carry Wranglers pants and shirts. Hats, shoes, purses and jewlery even Orange and yellow reflecting work clothes and jackets. it's just a fun store it's great to stop in for that last minute gift I but a beautiful scarf and hat a few blouses by myself I can't wait to see what new items she will have next. This little shop is much bigger on the inside and just full of all kinds of goodies. The best customer service in town. I just can't believe all the different items they carry even Wranglers and Lee's carry including a huge Selectionl of beautiful Yosemite, Bass Lake and Oakhurst souvenirs at a much cheaper price and a lot more to choose from. if you have forgotten something while visiting in town I bet they probably have it or just want to go shopping without driving to Fresno it's a very clean store They also make a lot of their own jewelry the earrings are absolutely beautiful. They carry diff types Face Masks and Shields, women's, men's and children's clothing shoes, belts, hats and gloves even boots and purses. She carries some of local artist Beautiful wooden mountains theme artwork. Shop is open seven days a week. Kathy and Paula are so very sweet and kind they help me put together a few outfits with matching jewelry I can't thank them enough for all their help they went above and beyond to help me I am truly grateful. read more

I live in San Jose but I have been coming up to Mariposa to visit my sister for over 40 years and when I do, we have always done a day trip to Oakhurst for lunch and shopping. One of our favorite shops WAS Sierra Mercantile. Today my sister and I traveled to Oakhurst for some lunch and she was going to treat me to a shopping spree at Sierra Mercantile. When we walked into Sierra Mercantile, we were greeted by the woman telling me to go to the counter and leave my backpack there. She also told me that I could put a lot of things in my backpack. This made me feel like I was a thief. I have "ALWAYS" had my backpack on when shopping there. What makes it worse is that my sister took me to the Sierra Mercantile in Mariposa on Tuesday and the sales lady walked outside and was having a conversation with someone outside and left my sister and I in the store by ourselves . . . My backpack was on my back too. Sierra Mercantile just lost 2 good customers! read more

I came across this store while pumping gas at the service station next door. It was great to discover this place to fulfill my needs for Yosemite souvenirs without having to spend time at shops inside the park. The lady who was there (I would venture to guess she's the owner) was very nice and pleasant. The store has an excellent excellent of shirts, mugs, and other souvenir items depicting Yosemite National Park. Discovering this place the way I did definitely saved me time from having to stop at the park stores during my final afternoon there, and instead allowed me to use that time for more sightseeing instead. (Also it was great to find the recycled glass mug with pictures of the Yosemite waterfalls that I did, which I bought one for myself and one as a gift for my lady friend. The gift for her has been put into use already and she loves it. :) ) read more
